Biscoff is a sweet but very fearful girl who is still learning that the world can be a safe place. She came from a hoarding situation and is currently extremely skittish and shut down, but she is beginning to make small, steady progress each day. At this time, Biscoff spends most of her day resting quietly in a dog bed within her open pen. She prefers calm, low-activity environments and feels safest observing life from a distance. While she is very reserved with people, she does occasionally take comfort in following the other dogs in the home and being near them. Biscoff does have leash reactivity/aggression due to fear and is not yet comfortable with leash walking or structured handling. Her reactions are rooted in anxiety and overwhelm, and she will need continued patient, careful work at her pace before she can safely progress in this area. She does get along with other dogs and may benefit from a calm, confident canine companion to help her continue building trust and confidence. She is still very much a work in progress and will require a quiet, structured home with an adopter who understands fearful dogs and is committed to slow, steady rehabilitation. Despite her fear, Biscoff does show some encouraging signs. She will cautiously come forward for high-value treats and is gradually starting to show curiosity in very small moments. She is surprisingly not overly reactive to loud noises, but remains generally fearful of most new experiences. Biscoff will need significant time, patience, and understanding to continue decompressing from her past. She is not a quick turnaround dog, but with consistency and a safe environment, she has the potential to slowly begin building trust and confidence. For the right person, Biscoff will be a deeply rewarding journey—one that requires patience, compassion, and a willingness to let her move at her own pace as she learns the world is no longer a scary place.   Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 11-3 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. So my name is Betty! I am a beautiful long hair 6 year old Dachshund. My coat is rich redish brown with tan markings. I have big soulful eyes and short little legs. My favorite thing is to snuggle on a lap. I recently arrived in foster care with Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue. I have already showed what a sweetheart I am. Betty is not fully housetrained, but she is catching on quick. She is also learning what that leash thing is and how it works. Betty gets along with the other dogs in the foster home and even the cats. My foster mom, Maggie thinks a home with people teenage and up would be best. If you would like to meet her and her brother, Little Man, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Little Man (10 years old) and Abby Love (5 years old) are a sweet bonded pair of long-haired Dachshunds who must be adopted together. These devoted siblings share a special connection and take comfort in being by each other`s side. Both are affectionate, people-oriented dogs who enjoy relaxing on the couch, napping in cozy dog beds, and spending time with their family. They get along well with cats and children of all ages, making them wonderful companions for many different types of households.Little Man is a gentle love bug who likes to know his people are nearby. He enjoys lounging in sunny spots and soaking up attention. Abby Love is equally affectionate and full of personality, actively seeking out pets and cuddles whenever she can. She knows her name, comes when called, and is especially devoted to her brother. Together, they are happiest when included in daily family life.Both dogs are doing well with house training and thrive on a consistent routine. They sleep together in a large kennel in their foster family`s bedroom and settle down nicely after a few minutes. They walk well using a leash and harness, though Little Man does have some difficulty with stairs and may benefit from a home that can accommodate his mobility needs. Abby enjoys her walks and is an easy companion on outings.Like many Dachshunds, Little Man and Abby Love are alert little watchdogs who aren`t shy about announcing visitors, neighborhood activity, or wildlife in the yard. Birds, squirrels, rabbits, and passing neighbors all catch their attention, and they can be vocal when outside. If you`re looking for a pair of loving, loyal companions who will bring double the affection and double the charm, Little Man and Abby Love are ready to find their forever home together.We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs.
