Adoption Donation: $250 Lil Man is a sweet, tender-hearted boy hoping to find a calm and loving place to call home. This gentle little guy has a soft personality and a quiet nature that makes him a wonderful companion. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but once he feels safe and comfortable, his loving side really shines. Lil Man gets along beautifully with other dogs and would do best in a peaceful home where he can settle in and blossom at his own pace. All Lil Man is looking for is a patient family who will give him the time and kindness he deserves. In return, he’ll be a loyal, sweet companion who brings warmth and quiet happiness to your home. If you’re looking for a gentle friend to share your days with, Lil Man may be the perfect match. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. Meet Penelope Featherington—affectionately known as Penny by her foster family! She’s about 1½ years old and came to rescue alongside 29 of her housemates from a hoarding situation. Penny is just beginning to learn what it feels like to be loved and is currently working on potty and crate training. Penny can still be shy and may not be her best self around small children, but she absolutely adores other dogs and thrives on their companionship. Need a professional lap warmer? She’s your girl! She loves being near both people and dogs and is happiest snuggled up in a cozy lap or cuddling with her furry friends. Her foster family says she especially enjoys staying warm and cozy—she’s definitely not a fan of cold and windy days (can you blame her?). Penny would do best in a patient home where she can continue learning to go outside reliably, take walks, and feel confident in a crate. Older kids or adults are ideal for her, as she blossoms best with gentle guidance and calm energy. If you keep a lap open, Penny will happily fill it with love, snuggles, and devotion. If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Bill is a 2-3 year old male Dachshund mix who weighs in at 17 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $450.  If you are still interested, please read more below. Bill's a jolly and affectionate dog. Bill will do best in a female only home with children over age 10 if present. He's 12" tall at the withers.  He appears to be a Chihuahua Dachshund mix. Bill arrived from a shelter in Tennessee. He loves the outside and belly rubs. He will do best with a fenced yard. He has a curious nature and doesn't hesitate to squeeze through narrow gaps or try to climb over -- yard fencing and baby gates should be secure. Bill would do great with other dog(s) and/or cat(s) in the house. He likes playing with other dogs. His style of play can be a bit much for some dogs – he will benefit from work on boundaries/manners and ensuring a good match in his forever home. Bill enjoys horsing around and getting the zoomies but will also nap with you on the couch. He's housebroken, will alert when he needs to go out, and sleeps well in his crate. Meet this adorable little Doxie-ish mama, around 24 years old and just 15 pounds of sweetness ! She came to us from a hoarding situation, so the world was a big, scary place at first. During her first week in foster care, she was shy and unsureshe didnt know basic commands or even how to walk on a leash. But wow, has she come a long way! Now, shes truly blossoming. Her tail wags, her personality is shining through, and shes even discovered some quirky habitslike sleeping in the funniest spots (yes, even on top of her kennel!). She may still let out a bark at neighbors or her reflection, but shes learning quickly and settles down with a gentle reminder! Shes been working hard and already knows sit, stay, down, and outsidesuch a smart girl! She absolutely loves to snuggle and may occasionally climb right up to your face for affection, but with a little guidance, she happily curls up beside you. She gets along well with her fosters beagle but can feel overwhelmed in large groups of dogs, so a calmer home or smaller pack would suit her best. This sweet girl is playful, loving, and full of personality. Shes overcome so much and is ready to keep growing with a family who will guide her with patience and love.
