Story
Baxter is an exuberant young dog who loves life and seems determined to live it to the fullest. His huge brown eyes are beautiful, and his corgi-like body is graceful and athletic. He lived in a home in Mexico with another dog (Dexter) and when their owners moved, they were left inside with no food or water. Luckily, they were eventually rescued and For Good rescue opened its arms, so they were able to come here to find their forever loving homes. Baxter's ideal home would be one where he gets lots and lots of love! This dog LOVES people! He also loves other dogs and children. He has lived with cats as well. He is crate trained. Baxter is lively and engaging (perfect description of a corgi!) although he also loves to snuggle. He will lay across your lap, happy to be close, knowing he is safe. He's just a darling dog and will bring lots of joy to any home. If youre interested this or one of our other dogs or would like help finding the perfect match please submit an application. Story
Vienna is fostered in Lansing, IL.   Meet Vienna.  She is a black and tan, 8 lb, Mini Dachshund and Miniature Pinscher mix who is full of life and loves cuddling with all humans and other dogs. She is playful, smart, loyal, goofy, and independent. Her foster dad calls her his little lemur; she loves to leap and play and has some serious distance! Her forever home should be ready for everyone to stop you on walks to admire how adorable she is! Her date of birth is 8/29/2025. She is super snuggly and very affectionate once she gets a few minutes to get to know you. Then, she is as loyal, gentle and snuggly as they come. She enjoys time on her human's lap (especially warm ones), being carried around, and sunbathing. At night I want to be under your comforter snuggled into you. Vienna is still learning how to alert/inform her humans how she needs to go outside to potty, and making good progress. Her foster dad says she just needs to keep working at it in her forever home.  A schedule for potty training needs to be continued for success.  What Vienna says about her life before coming to rescue: "I lived with a really big Doberman, as well as a German Shepherd and a cat along with 2 children under 10 years of age. I had lots of fun there, and would love to live with small humans or furry (or feathered) friends again. Now I’m living with my foster Dad and his female Australian Shepherd. When Dad leaves, he allows us both to have the run of the house, though we typically just lounge around and nap. My foster Dad has taught me that being inside a crate isn’t all that bad. I’ll eat my meals in my crate and will occasionally stay in one for a few hours to continue to learn to like it. I’m also good with nail trims. When I get introduced to new people or dogs, I like to just have a moment. I’m shy at first and need to feel things out for a few minutes. Once I feel safe, it’s game on for lots of fun!  I really enjoy car rides, especially if I get to be next to or on someone warm. I enjoy sitting in a cart at stores and welcome meeting people if they move slow around me. Don’t let my size fool you, as my foster dad calls me his little Sprite. I kinda agree with him here. :) I’d prefer a home with lots of love from my humans, fun dogs to play with (cats are fine too) and share beds and bones with.  Vienna is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed and is taking monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org   ##2639030##

Story
Zina is a precious pup, possibly a petite Beagle-Basset Mix. She weighs just 28 lbs, small for a Basset! She is estimated to be 8 – 9 years old. She had spent several months at an area Animal Control Facility with zero interest, so we at BAARK agreed to transfer her to our program, expecting that she’d get more visibility, interest, and hopefully that forever home that she so deserves. Zina enjoyed the holidays with her foster family! She loves people and immediately engages with them. She is outgoing, playful, and good with other dogs (we do not know about cats). She is also fine with children who have been taught to be respectful of dogs. Zina is an absolutely perfect girl. She is up to date on all veterinary care, including vaccinations, and heartworm testing. She is on year-round heartworm preventative, is spayed and microchipped. Zina is housebroken. If you are interested in adding Zina to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Note that BAARK is located in Barrington IL and adopts local to the area.

Story
While Buddy may look like a Black Lab at first glance, his short body makes it very clear he’s a Bassedor!! He is a precious boy embracing the characteristics of a Labrador and a Bassett. He is thought to be about 6 or so years old, is playful and active but, he also likes to relax and cuddle. Buddy enjoys the company of other dogs and loves playing with them. He likes toys as well but mostly healthy (safe) chew bones. He loves to being with his special person (people) and enjoys car rides too. Buddy is very adaptable and an overall perfect dog….except, typical of a hound, he likes to share his opinions especially when he wants to eat or go for a drive, or simply wants attention. Buddy does have a bit of a loud bark, so apartment or condo living would not be suitable for him. This personable pup is about 38 lbs, is housebroken, ok with older children. He would surely enjoy having a canine companion in his new family and also a secure fenced yard to run and play. He also wants a family who will allow him to sleep in bed with a human!! Buddy attends occasionally to socialize with friends. He’s fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round preventative, neutered and microchipped. He is housebroken. If you are interested in meeting all of Buddy’s requests and adding him to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Note that BAARK is located in the NW suburbs of Chicago, and adopts local to our area.
