People say I remind them of cookies and cream when I give them sweet kisses on the nose or bump up and snuggle with them when they're feeling down. When you hear the name, Chloe, what do you think of?? A cute girl with piggie tails and happy smiles? Or do you think about a mature woman with a penchant for tea and crumpets? I honestly think about the old chick, but I don't like tea and what are crumpets anyway?? SO, you guessed it- my name is Chloe! I am more of a middle aged gal (5 yrs old or so)with lots of love to give, and although I can be nervous with the wild kind of kids running around, I am PERFECTLY comfortable with a fire, popcorn and a good movie :D I am looking for a home that is relatively quiet and maybe a little boring, I am great with other dogs and would prefer to have a friend to hang out with- big or small... but no kids, sorry but I am not a kid loving girl, they just make me nervous and I react. Not sure if I was hurt or harassed by kids in my past life, I just know that in this life I am happy without them. And when it comes to cats... well cats are cats and there are some that I don't mind and there are some that I just plain don't like. I have been with cats in my foster home. A few are kind to me and some, well we would just rather not be in each others areas if you know what I mean. So when it comes to cats we are going to say that I am ok with cats if the cats are okay with me. Would I prefer a home without cats, yes. BUT every cat is different and who knows maybe one day we could grow to like each other given time, space and time. I didn't have the best life before I came to the rescue, now the rescue wants to find me THE BEST LIFE EVER! I have so many fun cool little dogs with me in my new foster home. We run and play and show our foster moms whats up! I am a cute girl, if you like dachshunds you will understand my personality perfectly- I love my people and am low to the ground. Unfortunately, due to health and life changes I can no longer care for them. They love to cuddle, walk together outside on their leash and snuggling together under a pile of blankets. Dachshunds are den animals and these two love their crate. I have a large crate they use together when I’m not home and they are quite comfortable. HENRY is a little dog of a certain age with a big personality. He's a 17 lb. dachshund mix who doesn't know how to act his age. He's probably 10-11 years old but he still has plenty of pep in his step. Henry was found running down the middle of a rural road. His owners were located but they didn't want him back so we agreed to take him in. We thought we were getting an old man, but this guy has proven to be a vital, active dog. He LOVES riding shotgun in the car. As soon as he sees a leash he's running for the door, ready to hop in the car and claim his spot on the console. At home Henry has 2 gears, run and nap. When it's nap time or bedtime, Henry loves to burrow deep under the covers. Henry loves toys. He loves them so much he must destroy them. He's fun and affectionate, housebroken, crate trained and walks well on a leash. Henry is good with other dogs but would also be perfectly content as an only dog. He's much more interested in toys, food and people. Other dogs are a distant 4th. Henry is fine with respectful cats that don't try to get up in his business. He's very healthy, his bloodwork is perfect, he's had a dental cleaning. He's fully vetted and ready for fun. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. When Irish eyes are smiling, does that mean they are happy? Or maybe they had too many pints at the pub? My eyes are smiling, and I am a non drinker, just want to have full disclosure here! Even though my eyes were smiling in these pictures. I was desperate for help for my little one, Lewis. You see, he was dying...full of internal and external parasites he really had no fight left in him and I knew it as his mother... so I used my Irish eyes to get us saved. AND IT WORKED!! Our lives are do amazing now, Lewis us alive and well after some very intense care, and ADOPTED INTO AN AMAZING HOME!!! I am not ever producing more babies, so it is all good! Now I get my turn for love, comfort and safety and a FOREVER HOME!! I am an adorable girl, about 45# of low-rider basset/heeler-ness. I am great with other dogs and like to play keep away! McCoy, oh what a boy! He's goofy he likes to carry things around in his mouth. He loves cuddles and attention. He gets along with other dogs but does need an occasional reminder to chill out cuz he pushes it a little too hard. He plays with big dogs and little dogs! He's good with cats! His foster homes does not have little kids but at events on Saturday young kids play with him in the puppy pens and he does great! He even had a sleepover with three 10-year-olds and they gave him a 100% kid approval rate! He's super playful but he just loves to be with people.
