He is a professional snuggler & loves most humans, just no small ones please! Oskar's hobbies include sleeping under covers, sunning himself on the deck, watching TV & batting his BBE's (big brown eyes) at you for any snacks you may want to share? Canine minions are cool and chilln' with his foster fur-brother is fun. However, very large dogs or hyper-happy alpha types who want to be all up in his face are not Oskar's cup of tea. Oskar did have some injuries from his prior life when he came to rescue, but has fully recovered & ready to go home. His canine dentist (ok, vet) also says his teeth are in great shape. He is housetrained and leash trained, loves to go on walks, & ride in the car. Oskar is okay with crates, but much prefers hanging around the house & would LOVE to snuggle with you in the "big bed" at night if allowed. Oskar would be suited to apartment living provided you agree to carrying HRH (his royal hound-ness) up & down any stairs, as all nobility should be! P.S. He came to HAP from a high-intake shelter in the South after running out of space, and we’re so glad he got a second chance. Despite his journey, Lenny is a sweet, friendly boy who’s simply happy to make new friends wherever he goes. Whether he’s cozied up on his blankets or zooming around outside, Lenny truly loves life. He appears to be house-trained, knows some basic commands, and is eager to keep learning. Meet Pearl: Pearl is about an 8 year old (as of December 2025) dachshund / small dog mix (best guess) that weighs about 20 pounds. Pearl was in a small shelter in rural Tennessee when we heard about her and were able to get her into our rescue. Pearl is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Pearl is the quintessential lap dog. Although estimated to be 8 years old, that hasn’t slowed her down. Pearl is not playful like a puppy, but she's not sedentary like a senior dog. Pearl was extremely shy when we first pulled her from the shelter, but has blossomed into one of the most sticky velcro dogs you could ever meet. Once you sit down --and sometimes before you sit down-- Pearl is in the chair with you. Pearl always prefers to be on your lap and if she's pushed out, she jumps right back in. Pearl can be a little yappy like some small dogs are and she can fuss at other dogs that compete for lap space, but her fussing is not threatening and can be amusing at times. We think Pearl would do best as an only dog. We think Pearl would probably be relatively quiet if she wasn’t competing for lap space. Pearl has been fine with cats that she has been around. Pearl is currently house trained to a doggie door and may need some patience while she transitions to another method. We would love for Pearl to have a home with a fenced in yard so she can run and play freely, but it is not a requirement. Pearl is up to date on her shots and spayed.
