Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.GEORGE Breed: smooth dachshund Age: 11 years Weight: 15 pounds Adoption Fee: $175   Vetting Status: neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed,  heartworm negative and maintained on preventatives, recent dental & cardiac echo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ GEROGE is a super chill 11-year-old dachshund who loves lounging with his people, when not moseying around searching for dropped crumbs.    George is deaf & vision impaired (sees shadows), but navigates his environment well thanks to his very functional dachshund nose.    He loves spending time with you, either at your feet or on your lap. He tolerates other small dogs & even the occasional cat, but would rather be your one & only retirement buddy.   George is OK on a leash, so an apartment would be acceptable to him... though he will need a lift up any stairs (doesn't every prince deserve that?). If you think GEORGE is the dog for you, please fill out an adoption application today! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ GEORGE is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link --  https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt.   The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 27, 2024, 12:08 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.TINA WEENA Breed: dachshund mix Age: 2 years Weight: 14 pounds Adoption Fee: $325   Vetting Status: spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed  and maintained on heartworm preventatives ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TINA WEENA is a sweet, super spunky, sassy doxie lady. Tina is convinced she's still a puppy & always wants to play, play PLAY!! Tina loves older kids, most other dogs & playing with EVERYONE.   Her  favorite games include  "lets-take-all-the-toys-to-the-couch"   and "chase-the-yellow-ball-but-dont-expect-me-to-bring-it-back-to-you". She came to us as a stray, so we don't know much of her past... only that she is very out-going, bordering on bossy "B" at times.  Chasing squirrels is VERY fun, so cats & small critters are probably not a great idea as potential housemates.   Tina is  extremely food motivated --what doxie isn't? Tina is housetrained, but not above sneaking off to piddle in the house if its raining though!   Crates are boring. Tina would much prefer to hang out with you on the couch watching TV - just don't let her steal your popcorn! If you think TINA is the dog for you, please fill out an adoption application today! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TINA WEENA is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. Story
Kovu is a sweet eleven year old long haired Chiweenie. He was originally my younger sister’s dog who she had ever since he was three months old. Due to various financial and life circumstances he has become the family dog and many of us have taken time caring for him. I’ve taken care of him lately but I am a graduate student and single mother and as much as it pains me to do so, I want to rehome him responsibly to a new loving home. My other family members are not in a position to give him the best care either. Kovu is naturally mild mannered and likes to stay close and snuggle all day if you let him. He is generally calm and loves his belly rubs as much as the next dog. He gets along well with female dogs, mild mannered cats, as well as older kids. He is a beautiful and loyal companion who always comes your way when feeling blue. It pains me to let him go, but I feel he deserves more than we can give right now.

Little Buddy is patiently waiting for a forever home to call his own. Could it be yours?Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. This sweet young boy came to us from rural Georgia to find his forever home. He would love to find an adopter who enjoys a daily walk or two and lots of play time. Being an active boy, Harvey is up for any adventure! Like his gal pal, Harley, he is ok with cats, but he likes to play/chase and some cats may not be fans. While Harvey generally likes people, he is a little unsure of men and tends to prefer the company of women. He also can be dog selective - except for his sister. Harvey would rather have all of the attention for himself and would do best as your one and only. So if you are ready for a new best buddy, why not fill out an application today and give Harvey a chance to have the forever home of his dreams!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training.
