Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Will only go to a home with another young small dog or someone taking 2. Will NOT go to homes with young children as dachshunds are easily injured. A shelter is no place for puppies. They get sick and die. Lucky for Violet and her little family one of the wonderful volunteers at the shelter reached out to us and well the rest is history :)Violet has been spay'd and is ready for her forever home. She will NOT be an only dog. There must be another young, smaller dog in the home for her to play with. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.I may be small, but I am mighty! I am a dachshund, big heart, bigger spirit! I am actually a German Shepherd in disguise. Very good disguise. Well, that's how I see myself. Nobody else can really see it, but I will defend my home with the best of them and if someone tries to hurt you, I will bite their ankles! I am a super good guy and unless it's a burglar, I am as friendly as can be. This wonderful rescue saved me from a truly bad place and I intend to spend the rest of my life being loved and finding soft places to snuggle. In no time I will find out where all the best places in our house are. I would dearly love to trot next to you on walks and will move my extra short legs fast enough to keep up with you. Actually, I might be running, but that's ok, the exercise is good for me. I look forwad to toys, romping in your yard, and mostly, letting you know how much I love you. People say I remind them of cookies and cream when I give them sweet kisses on the nose or bump up and snuggle with them when they're feeling down. I am a Dachshund-Basset mix and medium sized about 30# full grown. Sitting on people's couches or laps is my favorite pastime as I get to snuggle close to the people I love, which is practically everyone! I LOVE OTHER DOGS TOO!! I definitely want a home with other dogs :) As I am a bit on the older side and lived on the streets until I was saved with my babies in my tummy. I have been living at my foster home and am ready for my forever HOME!! TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY (BONDED PAIR) Oy Chico! Chico is a sweet couch potato, who is bonded with his brother Jefe! They are cute, little senior dachshunds who are hoping to be adopted together! They are a package deal, consider it a 2-for-1 special! Both have good energy and cannot stop wiggling their butts constantly! We are purebred dachshunds, with slightly different colored patches but all dachshund ALL the time! We are your standard dachshund size and have the temperament that would be great as a binge watching buddy, gaming friend or even a professional nappers (seriously we're that good.) Chico does have a seizure disorder that is controlled well with phenobarbital. His seizures were only about 1 a week but no one wants to let it happen so the meds were started and work GREAT! Local adoption fee is $300 for both of us (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $600 (includes transport to your area)
