Story
Hi my name is Cookee, and I'm the sweetest treat of a pup that you'll ever meet. People say I remind them of cookies and cream when I give them sweet kisses on the nose or bump up and snuggle with them when they're feeling down. I am a Dachshund-Basset mix and medium sized about 30# full grown. Sitting on people's couches or laps is my favorite pastime as I get to snuggle close to the people I love, which is practically everyone! I LOVE OTHER DOGS TOO!! I definitely want a home with other dogs :) As I am a bit on the older side and lived on the streets until I was saved with my babies in my tummy. I have been living at my foster home and am ready for my forever HOME!! I will need a patient and loving family to give me a good life of exercise- LOL, playtime, treats, love, affection, and belonging. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

So there we were, living in a home... when BAM! One day the family up and MOVES WITHOUT US!!! We had NO IDEA what was happening! No Dear John letter, no food and water left for us, nowhere to go and no one to take care of us..... WELP, the MOVERS took us in!! I mean, that was amazing! So we got to the rescue because hardworking moving men cared enough about us to save us and find us a rescue!! Now we are loving life in our foster home, our foster family is SO COOL! Lots of excitement, fun people to meet and all kinds of shade/playtime! We are dachshund mixed pups, all different colors but lowriders for sure :) Our mom is the sweetest and most FUN mom! She seems to be a puppy herself! Adopt one of us and give us the chance to write our next BEST chapter as a beloved member of your family!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Look at my markings, I am a low rider Dachshund with markings that make me look thinner, right?? So much time spent looking for the perfect angle to make my hips look smaller and then I get pregnant and BAM! Hips will never be the same :( However, I have some beautiful pups looking for furever families like yours and let me tell you- they look nothing like me!! And of course, they don't listen to what i tell them because, kids always know better than their parents!! LOL Bella here, i know alot and i am at the perfect age to be done with puppies and find my own home. Do you see my sweet personality come through my pictures?? I am just a great gal and so if you are looking for a great dog, look no further!! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/gener.You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:   Ted  (TED0224LINMD)Estimated Breed:   Dachshund / Feist MIXApproximate Age:   2 yearsApproximate Weight:   < 20 lbs  Currently Living at:   FosterAdoption Fee:   $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Meet little Ted, a sweet young boy who is friendly and easy-going and playful with other dogs.  He is crate trained but will need a bit of a refresher on house training.  Ted had a harsh start in life (found abandoned in a wire crate-- the last photo shows what he looked like when he came in)  so not surprisingly he is a bit timid and doesn't trust people right away.  He is just now discovering what it can be like to be safe and warm and well fed and cared for and he is lapping it up.  He has an affectionate and tender soul and we know he will become a loving companion for anyone who will give him the chance.  Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. I'm just a young fella, full of energy and love to share. I'm a social guy and I like making new friends, be they human or canine. I admit, I'm not the best at walking on a leash, and I'd do best in a home with a fenced yard where I can stretch my legs and explore.  Big city living isn't really my thing - I would really prefer something a bit quieter.  Experience with my breed would be a bonus, 'cause we Dachsunds are kinda special and I'd love to find someone who "gets" me. Why should you adopt me? Well, I promise to fill your life with loyalty, companionship, and lots of unconditional love. Male, 2 years old, ~25 lbs Rolo has the cutest stubby legs! Rolo is new to the rescue. We will add more information as we get to know the dog better. If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a DOG: http://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adoptable-dogs.html Interested in saving more lives? Foster a dog today! Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

These pups are in Baltimore, Maryland too!

Story
People, let me tell you about your new beeeeeest friend ... because I'm pretty sure it's ME! My name is Betsy, and I am ready to make myself the fun-loving, kiss-giving, happiest-girl-ever center of your world.Other dogs? Love them! Outdoor smells? Love them! Chew toys? Love them! People? Love them! Things that remind me of chew toys? Love them! I'm still working on that last part -- I'm only 1 year old, so I need a bestie (or two!) who can help me practice my commands and help me remember which toys are mine and which shoes are yours. Don't worry about crate training, though -- I've got that skill mastered. If you need a new BFF who loves to play and who will return your attention with ALL the tail-wags and love she can give (and who totally rocks a bandana on top of it all), then you can stop looking -- I'm here, and I'm ready for you!If you'd like to take me home, please fill out an adoption application at this website - http://www.animalalliesrescue.org/adoption-application - and choose me, Betsy! My adoption fee is $350 and AARF wants me to tell you that their adoption package covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like me for our forever homes. By the time you meet us, we've already been spayed/neutered (if age appropriate) and microchipped. We've been checked by a veterinarian, and we're up to date on age appropriate immunizations against rabies and DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus). We've been tested for heartworm and other tick borne diseases (4DX), and we've started our heartworm and flea preventive medications. Some of us have had extensive surgeries, dental work, or other necessary procedures. AARF is committed to getting all of us entirely ready for a happy, healthy, love-filled life!

When Irish eyes are smiling, does that mean they are happy? Or maybe they had too many pints at the pub? My eyes are smiling, and I am a non drinker, just want to have full disclosure here! Even though my eyes were smiling in these pictures. I was desperate for help for my little one, Lewis. You see, he was dying...full of internal and external parasites he really had no fight left in him and I knew it as his mother... so I used my Irish eyes to get us saved. AND IT WORKED!! Our lives are do amazing now, Lewis is alive and well after some very intense care, and ADOPTED INTO AN AMAZING HOME!!! I am not ever producing more babies, so it is all good! Now I get my turn for love, comfort and safety and a FOREVER HOME!! I am an adorable girl, about 50# of low-rider basset/heeler-ness. I am great with other dogs and like to play keep away! I am ready when you are, do your stuff so we can ride off into the sunset, in air conditioning, of course!
