Dog's Name: Baby Toad (TOD0924LEXMD)Estimated Breed: Dachshund / Chi mixApproximate Age: 11 weeks Approximate Weight: 5 LBS Currently Living at: Foster Adoption Fee: $500DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Baby Toad! Toad is part of the Super Mario litter of six males (Luigi, Bowser, King Boo, Mario, Toad, Yoshi). These sweet puppies came to us from an overcrowded shelter in Lexington, North Carolina. The shelter is a scary place for a little puppy, fortunately they have been rescued and landed themselves nice foster homes. What Toad really wants is to find his loving forever home. Could that be with you? Toad is your typical sweet and loving puppy. He is a very playful boy who gets along wonderfully with other dogs. At Toad's young age, he is in his prime for training and socialization too. Toad will make a wonderful addition to an active home. Submit an application today and change sweet boy's life forever! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
