Story
Winnie is a cuddle bug with the energy of a three-year-old, although the shelter estimated her to be a few years older. Very smart, she knows sit, relax, wait, come up, paw, and crate, as well as walk, bedtime, car, backyard, and school. She likes daycare and, after a day there, will sleep like a baby after dinner. Winnie loves to walk-usually two miles a day-and to meet people. She is fickle about other dogs when on leash; take meetings slow. She likes tug and chase in the yard. Keep an eye out--she will go under a fence to chase a rabbit or stray cat. Her best buddy was our three-year-old neighbor until the family moved away. Nothing will make her happier than to see you. She can be jumpy when excited and a little mouthy after a long separation, but if ignored, she can settle quickly. She is a barker and may not do well in an apartment. She is not especially food motivated-she just wants your praise. She does best with a steady routine--you will not need an alarm!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.TINA WEENA Breed: dachshund mix Age: 2 years Weight: 14 pounds Adoption Fee: $325   Vetting Status: spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed  and maintained on heartworm preventatives ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TINA WEENA is a sweet, super spunky, sassy doxie lady. Tina is convinced she's still a puppy & always wants to play, play PLAY!! Tina loves older kids, most other dogs & playing with EVERYONE.   Her  favorite games include  "lets-take-all-the-toys-to-the-couch"   and "chase-the-yellow-ball-but-dont-expect-me-to-bring-it-back-to-you". She came to us as a stray, so we don't know much of her past... only that she is very out-going, bordering on bossy "B" at times.  Chasing squirrels is VERY fun, so cats & small critters are probably not a great idea as potential housemates.   Tina is  extremely food motivated --what doxie isn't? Tina is housetrained, but not above sneaking off to piddle in the house if its raining though!   Crates are boring. Tina would much prefer to hang out with you on the couch watching TV - just don't let her steal your popcorn! If you think TINA is the dog for you, please fill out an adoption application today! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TINA WEENA is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore.   An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link --  https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption   Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt.   The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #dachshundsofinstagram #adoptme #puppybreathVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 28, 2024, 2:20 pm

Meet Crystal PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us. Crystal is a 7.5 pound chihuahua dachshund mix, about 6 to 7 years old, rescued from euthanasia in Texas and brought to Maryland. She is very loving to her person, will take a day or two to learn to trust that she is safe and will warm up to be your new BFF. Puppy pad trained, good on walks and will be a great companion. Prefers women. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) The adoption fee is $425, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. Puppies under 6 months of age may go to adoptive homes before they are spayed/neutered with a spay/neuter contract. Adopters who choose to adopt a puppy that has not yet been spayed/neutered are subject to an additional deposit of $100 (refundable upon proof of spay/neuter prior to the contracted date.) Included in the adoption fee, the rescue will arrange spay/neuter by a partner vet at a predetermined appointment when the puppy is between 7-9 months of age. It is the responsibility of the adopter to bring the adopted puppy back to the rescue vet for spaying/neutering or, if they choose, to send verification from their own vet (at the adopter's own cost) that the puppy had been spayed/neutered. All of our dogs will be microchipped. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment.

Story
Hi, it’s nice to meet you, I’m LeBron, a 3 year old, 25 lb., dachshund/chi mix. I don’t remember much about my former life, but I’m glad to be with A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue to find my forever home. I’m a little shy around new people given all the changes I’ve been through. I’ve been in a couple of foster homes before, and I discovered that I feel more comfortable around adults and older children. Younger children scare me with their quick, sometimes unpredictable movements. I am looking for a forever home that is quiet, patient and loving. I am housetrained so that's a plus! I like crates because they feel so cozy and safe. That said, I may need some coaxing in the beginning to get out of my crate and into the world.  Like LeBron James, I jump up high in the sky and am very high energy so will do best in a home with people that are active and can give me plenty of exercise and enrichment! That's why my foster dad named me LeBron! Also, a home with people that are home often would be nice too because I tend to get attached to my people. They make me feel safe! I'm still working on being protective of my people. I try to remember that no one is going to take them from me but it's definitely a work in progress. I know I will grow used to being around new faces; I just need people that will be patient with me so I can learn to feel safe and secure in this world. I’m a sensitive guy with a big heart once I trust someone. Are you that forever trustworthy person I’m looking for?! ##2039331##

Story
This little pretty chocolate dappled girl is called Mazie and goodness what a cracker jack she is.  Don’t for minute let those green eyes and chocolate marbled coat fool you to think she is gentle or easy.  She is the CEO of dogs and will run the show at your house if given the chance.  Mazie is 30 pounds and 9 months old.  She is a breed mix of Dachshund and Basset Hound we are told.  Her pics make her look big but she is a “tiny but mighty” little girl.  Mazie is not a fan of any other female dogs in her life or around her.  We don’t know where that came from but the dislike is there so we say…don’t ignore the warning.  She is great with big male dogs, not good with other small dogs or cats, but loves people deeply and wants to be around them.  She needs a fenced yard because she is a runner as most Dachshunds can be and she needs to be able to run and play and get her energy out daily.  Older children would be better for her and she is crate trained, 90% housebroken and she adores going for walks; a very good girl on a leash we can say.  She is beautiful but a “tad” bit complicated, which is why we have outlined the Likes and Dislikes of this girl to a TEE!  We want the right and perfect home and there are lots out there that can give her that.  Tiny but Mighty little Mazie is ready for a home NOW!  Please email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue : ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Tell us where you live when you email asking for information and an application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 10, 2024, 10:23 pm
