His recovery went great and he is now all healed up and loving life! The only thing he is missing is a forever family. At only 19 lbs, Gumbo brings a whole lot of fun in a tiny package. He is super playful with dogs of all sizes. He even appears to be cat friendly! He loves to be around people, especially his foster mom. She's lived in an apartment and went on leash walks daily but did not get them often enough due to her owner's conditions.She's described as a cuddly companion and she knows some cues like come and sit.She's not lived with other pets during her lifetime but that doesn't mean she's averse to them. Her owner said she's pretty neutral toward dogs and cats. You can schedule a doggie meet up at the shelter after meeting Mahoney. For cats, slow intros are recommended. She has no known experience with children.Mahoney favors wet food over dry and sure would appreciate a comfy space to call her own outside of the shelter. Lucy is a wonderful dog, she is potty trained to her dog door, comes and goes outside as she pleases. She will play fetch with you for literal hours on end and brings balls right back to your feet. She knows sit, lay down and go around. She will sit and lay with you on the couch, loves scratches and belly runs. She can be a little territorial of her back yard and will bark at dogs on the other side of the fence, but I use a non shock bark collar that just beeps and vibrates and it is very effective. Only reason for re homing is going through a divorce and my schedule doesn’t allow animals.

Available in TX only! King is a one year old Basset Hound/Lab mix with a gentle soul and a laid back nature. He is still gaining confidence and can be scared of new things, especially loud noises, but once he feels safe he settles in nicely. When he gets excited he can be a little jumpy, though most of the time he is calm and easygoing. King truly enjoys running around the yard, going on walks, and soaking up outdoor time. He has a playful side and loves playing fetch with frisbees and balls. Tug of war is another favorite game, and he is a big fan of chew time. Knuckle bones, hard chew toys for power chewers, and anything he can safely gnaw on make him very happy. King is crate trained and house trained, which makes him an easy addition to a home. King does have a prey drive and enjoys chasing squirrels and frogs, and he will chase cats, so a cat free home is recommended. He also has a sensitive stomach and does best on sensitive stomach dog food.
