Story
Hey! Iggy Pup here. I have a "Lust for Life" and would love to share my story with you.....My owner went to the county shelter and tried to surrender me and my five buddies. They turned her away but provided rehoming resources. Well, she was not interested in that so she took off and left us abandoned in her apartment. Animal Control was called out and we were impounded. SCARY! The shelter sent out a plea for help and we were all thankfully rescued. My buddy Eggbert and I were taken into SCP. I am about 8-10 years old and I have slight cataracts and arthritis. Don't worry, this doesn't keep me down! I love going for short walks and sitting with my humans on a recliner:) I am great with other dogs and even cats! I am a couch potato at heart with bouts of energy. Hopefully I have many, many more years in me- my bloodwork was great and I will be getting a dental very soon! I have medium length fur that needs a good brushing every now and again but doesn't have to be professionally trimmed. I am looking for my forever home and hoping to find this through SCP. I will sleep with you and I am potty trained - I can even be crated- I am very quiet! I am a friendly guy and love all of my peeps..... especially anyone is has food, I'm a total piggy!. If you are interested in me, please send an email to us! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review! All dogs typically show on Saturdays at the Petco in Clear Lake as well. 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center. Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $190 (or $245 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas.April 18, 2024, 3:07 pm

Story
Pooh is interactive and listens well. She is playful and quite silly sometimes. She does not cause issues but a recent move has her in a kennel most of the day & she deserves a home where she can roam freely more often.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.vetting completeAre you looking for love in all the wrong places? Look no further because Stu Lu is here and looking for you! Stu may have had a rough beginning to his life but that hasn't left him bitter. He is eager to give and receive affection. Stu is his foster mama's shadow; wherever she goes, he follows. He is getting along well with his two dachshund foster sisters, but mostly just wants human attention.  His little face has a lot of character -  you'll have to see the smile on this boy yourself. Stu is working on house training and doing very well. He will stay in his crate when foster mama leaves the house, but for sleeping he wants to be in the big bed, right next to the object of his affection. He is a little shy and timid at first but has been warming up quickly and showing signs of playfulness, just started giving kisses, and loves belly rubs. His whole coat is velvet-soft, which is perfect for all the hugs and cuddles he wants to give. Stu has a funny little quirk which is snapping at imaginary flies.  Stu Lu is a sweet boy and will need someone with a lot of love to give; could that be you?   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 18, 2024, 11:09 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.vetting complete Bruni is a 9 pound bundle of energy and fun. He loves people and other dogs, inviting them to play. Now that he knows how to use the doggy door, there have been no accidents in the house and he proudly brings in leaves and other trophies from his backyard excursions. He happily walks on a leash along with the other dogs, making friends along the way. He isn’t a barker and sleeps well in his little bed at night with his toys. He has assimilated easily into his foster home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 18, 2024, 11:09 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.vetting complete Scooter is a silky soft, friendly guy. His favorite thing to do is play ball. He will retrieve it and drop it back at your toes over and over. Bonus points if it's a squeaky ball! He is potty trained and does pretty well on a leash. He does not care for the crate but he will sleep on a dog bed next to your bed peacefully all night long without a peep. He just has to get comfy first by rearanging his blankets. Sometimes he likes to suckle or gently chew on a blanket (nooking) as if for comfort. He does not beg to get on your couch or your bed. I think in his past life he must not have been allowed on the furniture. I've tried to teach him to use the ramp to join us on the bed but he won't stay long. He prefers the open crate or dog beds around the room. He's not sure about eating breakfast but he is eager to eat dinner. He likes to be loved on but he's not pushy about it. He tries to get his two-legged, 1-year-old foster sister to play ball with him. He gets along with his doggy foster brothers and sisters too. He has welcomed human visitors politely. Did I mention he loves playing ball? He's a great doggy companion. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 18, 2024, 11:09 pm
