Hi, my name is Jellystone and I am from Arkansas!
From my foster: Jellystone (who we affectionately call Jemma) is truly the best little pup! She is playful, affectionate, obedient, silly, devoted, and oh so much fun. To know this sweet girl is to love her!
Our foster journey started with a daytime field trip that turned into a sleepover, then a temporary foster situation, until we finally realized we couldn’t stop fostering her! She absolutely steals your heart. Jellystone adores people and has done wonderfully meeting new human and animal friends. She can be timid at first, but she has made huge strides and impresses us with her bravery every day.
She is extremely intelligent and eager to learn. She knows commands like “here,” “off,” and “sit,” and is both food- and toy-motivated, making her a great candidate for continued training. She walks very well on leash, often heels and makes eye contact, and we continue working on her confidence around loud noises and new environments. She loves exploring trails, meeting new people, and discovering that the world is safe to explore!
Jellystone is also a total toy lover and does a great job entertaining herself with toys and bones. She’s perfectly happy to spend time chewing on a good bone or playing with her favorite toys, but she also loves playing with her humans! She can be a little mouthy while teething, but responds well to redirection and is learning quickly. She’s curious and adventurous in the home, so her forever family will need to keep an eye on her occasional tendency to chew things she shouldn’t.
Potty training is still a work in progress. She regularly uses potty pads and goes outside, but does still have the occasional indoor accident.
Jellystone currently lives with her foster sister, a 5-year-old female pitty, and absolutely loves having her around! She enjoys cuddling, grooming, and initiating play with her. She has shown no signs of resource guarding, and her foster sister has helped her gain confidence and learn so much.
Jellystone can be an anxious girl and wants to be near her humans much of the time. We’ve made great progress building her independence, but she will need a family willing to continue helping her feel safe and confident when left alone. We’ve had success using a crate with a surrounding pen, which gives her some freedom and helps her self-soothe.
This precious girl has been through so much at such a young age, yet her joyful spirit remains completely intact. We are so grateful to foster her because she brings so much love into our lives, and we know she will do the same for her forever family. Whoever gets to call Jellystone theirs will be incredibly lucky! ❤️
