Meet Evie, a brave, mellow, and smart adult Doberman who has been through a lot. She was abandoned and hit by car, causing her to lose her puppies and then to have surgery to mend a broken leg and hip. Yet her gentle spirit never wavered. She's a fighter and remains the sweetest, friendliest soul. Evie's favorite pastime is playing with her squeaky toy, which she carries everywhere. She's also incredibly cuddly and loyal, always seeking out human companionship. This beautiful girl is loving, affectionate, loyal, and has a calm, gentle spirit with just the right amount of silly. She’s incredibly well-behaved and has a heart full of love to give. Evie enjoys the simple things in life – burying her favorite bones, playing ball, and just being near her people. She’s the kind of dog who will form a deep bond with her forever family and always be by your side. Evie's resilience and loving nature make her an amazing companion. Her bravery and sweetness are an inspiration. Adopt Evie and gain a friend who will cherish you unconditionally. Story
Duke is proof that resilience and kindness can exist in the same heart. This handsome Doberman was found as a malnourished stray with no microchip, but despite everything he’s been through, he has remained incredibly loving. Duke settled into his foster home almost immediately and has shown everyone what an amazing companion he is. He’s calm, affectionate, dog-friendly, loves people, and has a wonderfully gentle personality. His foster says everyone they meet absolutely falls in love with him. At around 4 years old, Duke is past the puppy stage but still young enough for years of adventures together. He’s been gaining weight, thriving in foster care, and is ready for a forever family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. If you’ve been searching for a loyal, easygoing companion, Duke may be your perfect match.

Story
Meet Freddy — A Sweet, Playful Boy Looking for His Forever Home! ❤️ Freddy is a 7-year-old Doberman mix with a huge heart and so much love to give. He was surrendered to Downey Shelter on May 29, 2026, because his owner was unable to care for him. Freddy was unfortunately extremely malnourished when he entered the shelter, but he has shown incredible resilience and is now gaining weight and getting stronger every day. And his personality? Absolutely wonderful. Freddy is friendly, loving, loyal, playful, and gentle. In playgroup, he enjoyed calmly exploring the yard and was very social with the people around him, happily accepting pets from handlers. He’s also comfortable around other dogs. Freddy tends to be submissive and respectful of canine boundaries. He doesn’t necessarily try to play with every dog he meets, but he enjoys calmly sniffing and interacting with them, especially female dogs. But don’t think Freddy is all calm and serious—this boy LOVES to have fun! 😂 He enjoys fetch and tug-of-war and has a wonderfully goofy, playful side. His previous owner reported that Freddy successfully lived with a cat and a rabbit, and he knows the command “sit.” He also rides well in the car, making him a great candidate for adventures with his future family. Freddy may be enthusiastic when leaving for an outing, but underneath that excitement is a loving dog who wants to be included, cared for, and loved. He’s 7 years old, which means you get the best of both worlds: a dog who has matured past the puppy stage but still has plenty of playful energy and fun left in him. Freddy has already experienced what it’s like to be overlooked and not have someone able to care for him. Now he deserves a family who will choose him and never give up on him. ❤️ Friendly ❤️ Loving & loyal ❤️ Playful & silly ❤️ Enjoys fetch & tug-of-war ❤️ Dog-social and respectful ❤️ Previously lived with a cat & rabbit ❤️ Knows “sit” ❤️ Rides well in the car Freddy is ready for his forever home. Could that be with you? 🐾❤️

Dobby is 4 years old and was named after Dobby in Harry Potter. She is a very affectionate, sweet girl. she loves nothing more than lying on the couch and chasing birds in the back yard. I now have a 1 year old and sadly she does not like babies and so we have to find a good new home for her.

Story
Duke is a one year 2 month doberman pitbull mix. In the house he is pretty mellow as long as his exercise needs have been met. Id take him for a 20 minute walk in the morning, lunch time, and after work. Evenings we would spend 30-60 mins at the dog park. This would keep him very manageable in the house. He is play motivated (balls are his favorite) for training which also works in high distraction environments. Food works well in low distraction or after he us comfortable with a command. His quirks are barking at dogs while on leash and counter surfing. He does prefer to chew on his bone or toes but will make mistakes. He knows sit, stay, down needs work, up, off, cross to cross a street, wait to not cross if he is heading there or just to make him stop, come/right here, drop it (but will probably pick it up again), leave it (except with his ball)
