Story
The decision to re-home our Honey is a very difficult one, I have to do what is best for her, my family, and I. This decision is based on my being overwhelmed. I have experienced personal health issues. My sister became ill with cancer, so I am caring for her child. I also care for my grandchild most of the week. I also care for my son's senior German Shepherd. Honey deserves better. She will surely thrive. She has a great temperament. Very calm and sweet. She loves to go on hikes and camping. She was born on: Superbowl Sunday, February 12, 2023 From 7:40pm to 10:50pm Born #5 out of 6 puppies Her and her twin brother were born after mom took a one and a half hour break from delivering. Mom: Great Pyrenees and Maremma Sheepdog Dad: African Rhodesian Ridgeback She is about 90-100 pounds. She is food-driven. Loves to run in the yard.

Story
"Courtesy Post" This is not a Street Paws animal but we are assisting a family with placing their pet.  "MEET RIVER" He was born at Clayton County Humane Society to mom Kelly who is also still up for adoption. River has been completely vetted which includes microchipping, neutering, ALL current and up to date vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heartworm tested, heartworm and flea prevention and completed deworming. River was a live birth to mom Kelly on 02/06/2022 along with 7 siblings. River and his brother Jasper that is also still available for adoption had the chance at a forever home as puppies but were unfortunately returned after 6 months as a lifestyle change occurred and they could no longer care for River and Jasper. With River and Jasper size they are usually overlooked due to medium to larger size dogs being picked last for adoption. 3 years have went by already with living in shelter life. They do get the opportunity to go on routine scenic dog walks and adventures and have outside free time. River would do well as a only dog as he can be quiet timid and shy but is very friendly to people. He can bark at children as he is just timid and needs some quality time to develop and blossom outside of chaos that can arise from shelter living. He is very active and would make a great companion to someone who loves to spend a lot of time outdoors. If you have a big back yard for him to run he would greatly enjoy that too!! River and Jasper deserve a true chance at a forever home and someone who has patience in understanding that decompression and a trusting bond is viable for them to open up and show all of their personality. They love treat time and always welcome us with a wagging tail and great disposition. I encourage quality one on one time to be spent so that you can see all the potential that they have!! Let's give River and Jasper a FOREVER home ! River is in good health and ready to be adopted into his forever loving home Adoptions are limited to an approximately 150 mile radius from Locust Grove, GA, certain circumstances may allow exceptions.  Adoption fee is $250 To apply to adopt this pet, please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at  https://www.streetpaws.org/home/adopt.     This application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the pet and your family. We verify vet history on current/previous pets to ensure pets have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated annually. Please call your vet to give permission for us to call them. If more information is needed regarding the pet email info@streetpaws.org. You must complete the pre-application to obtain approval to meet the pet.  November 24, 2025, 8:32 pm

Story
I adopted Nate from the humane society when I was in college, about 12.5 years ago. He was just two months old at the time and has always lived with me since as his primary owner. Sometime when he was a few years old, he was mistreated by apartment maintenance personal that changed his temperament towards new people. That said, he has never bitten anyone. In recent years my family has grown and my wife and I are uncomfortable having him around our young babies. He has never acted aggressively towards them, but I would never forgive myself if something were to happen. For that reason he has transitioned to being an outdoor dog, but I believe that is very hard on him in his old age and in this weather. I am hoping to find a loving home for him where he can have regular companionship again and comfort.

Story
Meet Penny! She is a very sweet dog who loves to run and play with her dog friends! She also loves dog toys and will even play ball by herself. She takes a bit to warm up to people. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She just prefers dogs over people. She will need to be in a home with a pack of dogs so she can live her best life! She does well with kids, cats, chickens, and (of course) dogs. She doesn't chase cats or chickens. She is house trained and doesn't chew things up. When first meeting people, she is a little skittish. It is important to let her set the pace. She will need someone with patience who understands that she is more of a pack dog than a people dog.November 4, 2024, 3:23 pm

Story
&#226&#128&#139 Affectionate. Snuggly. Loyal. Friendly. Handsome. The list of Hudson’s amazing qualities could go on forever — but lately, one trait has really stood out: this boy is exceptionally intelligent. Hudson isn’t just a pretty face — he’s what we like to call doggie Ivy League material. At just 3 years old and 62 pounds, he’s a quick learner who thrives on mental stimulation and truly loves training. New tricks and agility games? Bring it on. Hudson lights up when his brain is engaged, and he’s happiest when he has a purpose. We believe there’s some working breed in his genes, and it shows in his focus, drive, and desire to bond deeply with his people. He’s eager to please and would thrive in a home that understands the needs of smart, active dogs and can keep him challenged with ongoing learning and enrichment. Hudson’s dream home? A family who values his intelligence as much as his cuddles. Someone who’s excited to teach him new tricks and skills. A best friend who appreciates both his active side and his heart of gold. Check out his reel: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1017875406805291     Age: 3 years    Weight: 62 lbs    Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and heartworm negative and on prevention    Temperament: Good with other dogs, and older, respectful kids.      Training, House trained, crate trained, knows several commands    Email for questions: sonali@doggieharmony.org    To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. June 25, 2025, 9:04 am
