Story
Beautiful Jolene is a 1+ year old,  50 lbs pure bred Doberman. This skinny, bony, formerly neglected girl has responded amazingly well to good food, a warm bed, love and human attention. She is good with cats, dogs and adores kind people. GREAT WITH CATS!At some point in her short life, she has had puppies and whoever early in her puppy days, had her cropped her ears with dull scissors. She has not let this affect her sweetness and good nature. What is left of her ears perk up when you come into her space. Though somewhat timid at first, her confidence and demeanor have changed dramatically the past few weeks since coming out of the small rural shelter.  Her confidence has grown nicely.  She still has puppy in her as she will steal your glove or hat and on occasion she will counter surf in search of more food. She will happily stay in a crate if you need to leave her. You can tell that she has a big open heart and is ready and willing to be a best friend when given a chance!  If you love and know the great traits of a Doberman, Beautiful Jolene won't disappoint you.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 27, 2024, 8:44 am

Story
MEET SAM!   This silly and happy-go-lucky ~2yr old guy was brought in by animal control for being tied outside with no shelter or food/water. His past has not affected him one bit, and he absolutely loves life, people and other dogs.   His records say he is a Doberman mix, but we don't believe it. Because of his delicious OVERbite, we think he may be part shark! At 55 lbs, he'd fit in any pool or tub.   Sam knows 'sit,' 'down,' 'wait,' 'leave it,' and has excellent leash manners. He (mostly) comes when called and will sit until he is released at mealtime. Sam is house broken and crate trained, and he enjoys taking naps outside of his crate during the day. While Sam adores attention and affection, and he will practically swoon when you brush him, Sam can entertain himself with his chew toy.   Sam's overbite is really something else, and it just makes him so Sam! He does sometimes nibble fingers when taking treats, but he can't help it, so we give him treats on the side of his mouth instead of the front, so fingers are spared.    Sam absolutely loves other dogs and plays well and hard with both male and female dogs his size or smaller. Sam lives successfully with a dog savvy cat in his foster home. We recommend he go to a home with another dog and we know he is good with children 12 and up.    Sam’s adoption donation fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for Sam by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org.  Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.February 26, 2024, 11:42 am

Story
Meet Toby, a delightful 6-year-old Doberman/Hound mix weighing 56 pounds. This friendly canine is both dog and cat-friendly, making him a versatile companion. Toby is house and crate trained, though occasional accidents may occur if he feels anxious – a manageable aspect with the right home environment and schedule. In terms of an ideal home, Toby thrives in a large fenced yard where he can run and play with doggie friends. He tends to be more comfortable around females or patient men, as he is timid but not aggressive. Working from home is a bonus, and early risers would be a great match for Toby's energetic mornings. Recognizing Toby's need for confidence-building, he would benefit from a household with opportunities for training and growth. Early risers are a plus, and having a playful dog friend is essential for his well-being. While cats and older children (16 and above) are welcome, a calm environment is preferred. Despite his timidity, Toby is a super sweet dog who loves to run in the yard, is leash trained, and enjoys playing with toys. He is healthy, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. The reason for rehoming stems from the owner's unfortunate struggle with illness, prompting the search for a loving and understanding forever home for Toby.February 25, 2024, 2:58 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Douglas is a one year old, beautiful pure bred Doberman. I was given Douglas along with his brother, as a gift for Christmas a year ago. They both have different personalities and love to play but then turns into a competition match. I also have two cats and Douglas seems to be growing increasingly irritated and aggressive towatds them. He is super strong and needs exercise. He's young so he doesn't understand his own strength. He can use additional training. Douglas still loves to lay on people and if he could, he would completely curl up and lay in a lap. He loves squeeky toys and bones. This is very hard for me but I want all pets to be happy, living in comfortable, loving homes.
