Story
Meet Roxie, the sweetest little cuddle bug who will melt your heart! Roxie is a 1.5 year old 55 pound mixed breed, full of personality! She is a playful little girl who can keep herself busy playing with her toys and enjoys a game of fetch in the yard. But most of all she LOVES to cuddle and get endless belly rubs from her humans. Roxie has come a long way with her comfort with other dogs and has shown she can live happily with other dogs in the household. She loves people of all ages, young and old! Here’s some things about Roxie.  Totally housebroken.  Sleeps in her crate without a fuss.  Doing great with basic commands.  She’s a smart girl, willing to learn and please.  Lives in a foster home with cats.  Roxie needs some work on leash skills but I believe she’ll come around quickly with good and consistent training. Roxie is up to date on all vaccines. She is fostered in Wellsville. All she needs is a loving family to make her life complete. Maybe that lucky family is yours?? New Oxford PA 17350; LIC # 9736 We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Hagerstown MD or Quicksburg VA. Rooster resides with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please email kathy@houstonshaggydogrescue.org if you are interested in adopting this good boy. You may also find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/houstonshaggydogrescue

Story
Meet Toby, a delightful 6-year-old Doberman/Hound mix weighing 56 pounds. This friendly canine is both dog and cat-friendly, making him a versatile companion. Toby is house and crate trained, though occasional accidents may occur if he feels anxious – a manageable aspect with the right home environment and schedule. In terms of an ideal home, Toby thrives in a large fenced yard where he can run and play with doggie friends. He tends to be more comfortable around females or patient men, as he is timid but not aggressive. Working from home is a bonus, and early risers would be a great match for Toby's energetic mornings. Recognizing Toby's need for confidence-building, he would benefit from a household with opportunities for training and growth. Early risers are a plus, and having a playful dog friend is essential for his well-being. While cats and older children (16 and above) are welcome, a calm environment is preferred. Despite his timidity, Toby is a super sweet dog who loves to run in the yard, is leash trained, and enjoys playing with toys. He is healthy, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. The reason for rehoming stems from the owner's unfortunate struggle with illness, prompting the search for a loving and understanding forever home for Toby.July 22, 2024, 8:29 am

Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Boots was found in the side of the road in PA when he was 13 weeks old! We knew we couldn’t leave him there so we brought him back home and he’s been with us ever since. We were able to locate where he came from but the family did not want him so we just kept him. He will be 1 year old on Aug 3rd. Boots is a very sweet boy who LOVES to play with his ball. He also loves rolling around in grass and going fishing! He loved eating beef tracheas or chewing on his beef cheeks. I would love to keep Boots but unfortunately I am moving aborad for school and no one in my family is experienced enough to take care of him. Boots requires a good amount of physical and mental exercise. Unfortunately, he is leash reactive which is still a work in progress but has gotten so much better and has a VERY high prey drive for anything moving really fast) Boots is also dog selective and primarily only likes female dogs. I hope Boots can find a furever home!
