Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Hagerstown MD or Quicksburg VA. Rooster is fostered by our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Story
Meet Raven! Raven came to us when her owners were no longer able to provide for her. Now, Raven is looking for her forever home! Raven loves to play, running outside is her favorite thing to do! This goofy girl could play with stuffies all day if you let her. Since Raven is still a puppy, she does need some basic training. Raven previously lived with small dogs, but she does not seem to enjoy the company of bigger dogs. Raven does well with children, but because of her energy level she would do best in a home with older kids. We have not seen her around cats. Raven's adoption fee is $212. If Raven sounds like the pup for you, please fill out an application for her today! Raven is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped

Story
MEET SAM! (Descriptor: Snuggler) This silly and happy-go-lucky ~2yr old guy was brought in by animal control for being tied outside with no shelter or food/water. His past has not affected him one bit, and he absolutely loves life, people and other dogs. His records say he is a Doberman mix, but we don't believe it. Because of his delicious OVERbite, we think he may be part shark! At 55 lbs, he'd fit in any pool or tub. Sam knows 'sit,' 'down,' 'wait,' 'leave it,' and has excellent leash manners. He has been training with his foster Mom and now drops into a down position and patiently waits for his food despite being just soooo excited to eat! He (mostly) comes when called and will wait to be released in the morning after sleeping on his dog bed so he won’t rush his family when getting up. Sam is house broken and crate trained, and he enjoys taking naps outside of his crate during the day. While Sam adores attention and affection and he will practically swoon when you brush him. His love language is physical touch! He will lean and bend around you on the couch until he settles half on and half off your lap. Even though he loooooves his people, Sam can entertain himself with his chew toy. Sam absolutely loves other dogs and plays well and hard with both male and female dogs his size or smaller. Sam lives successfully with another dog and a dog savvy cat in his foster home. We recommend he go to a home with another dog and we know he is good with children 12 and up.  Sam’s adoption donation fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for Sam by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org.  Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.April 23, 2024, 12:09 pm

Story
Batman is a 2-year-old black and rust male with cropped ears and a natural tail. He is a sweet, friendly, loving boy who follows me around wanting to know everything I’m doing. He is very happy, wiggly and loves to give kisses. He enjoys playing with my dogs or is content to play with a toy or chase his tail. He rides well in the car and walks pretty good on a leash. He is very food motivated and picked up on the routine here quickly. He has good house manners although like a lot of dogs he may take food items off counters if the opportunity presents itself. Check his video https://youtu.be/EDhJ4nkCHac?si=g44dVGyWlRpZ-VfV Batman weighs about 60 pounds and has a big personality. He has a good energy level having plenty of energy for play or exercise but also good to relax and hang out. He is crate trained and likes a Kong or chew toy while in there. He is good out of the crate overnight, but is content to be in his crate when I am not home. He has learned to sit for treats. He’s unknown with cats or small children but is good with other dogs. He’s a happy, super cool guy looking for his forever home. Batman is fostered in Virginia. DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Please check with other Doberman rescues in areas not listed.

Story
Max is a 3 year old, black/rust, docked, natural eared lump of sweetness that weighs in at around 74lbs and has average activity level. Max is a sweet heart that has yet to meet a human he has not liked. He is house trained and spends his time while we are away in his ex pen snoring away. He's learning how to wait to go out of a door until given the okay, he knows sit and down, has started to wait to eat until given the okay and we are working on him giving his paw. He will need solid work in his leash manners. We have never had an issue taking anything away from him and he has had no problems if you approach his bowl while he eats. At night he sleeps on a bed in our room and from day one has just gone with the flow of our routine and has blended right in. In his previous home he lived with four other dogs and a cat. He liked to chase the cat. Max will make sure that you are never alone and will follow you wherever you go. He will lay his head in our lap for love and will look up at you with complete adoration and just wait for you to pay attention to him. He's had baths and nail trims while with us and has done well with both. Max is waiting for a family that will love him for who he is and will help him become the dog he can be. Max is being fostered in Maryland. DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Please check with other Doberman rescues in areas not listed.
