Story
💖 Kiara – The Working Girl with a Heart That’s Finally Healing 💖 Kiara’s story began as part of an oopsie litter — a group of backyard pups born without socialization, structure, or guidance. Growing up, she didn’t get to be part of a family or learn what it meant to belong. When she arrived at The Underdog Division, she was scared and unsure, but deep down, her spark was still there — waiting for someone to believe in her. Through professional training at K9netic Pack, Kiara has made an incredible transformation. She’s smart, loyal, and driven — everything you’d expect from a true working-breed dog. With structure and purpose, she shines. She loves having a job to do, learning new skills, and being right by your side as your teammate and best friend. But Kiara is also sensitive. She bonds deeply with her people and needs a calm, patient home where she can feel safe. She’ll do best as the only dog in the home and in a household without children under 10. She’s social and friendly once she knows you, but she thrives most in a stable, low-chaos environment with clear expectations and gentle leadership. Kiara isn’t just looking for a home — she’s looking for her person. Someone who understands her heart, her drive, and her need to work, learn, and love. 💕 📍 Located in Poolesville, MD 🐾 Spayed, fully vetted, and professionally trained ✨ Adoption includes post-adoption support through K9netic Pack Give Kiara the second chance she’s worked so hard to earn. Story
Petty, aka "Max" is a lovable young senior dog looking for a retired or work-at-home human/family to share the rest of his life with. He has been three-legged since aged two, has learned to adapt all his daily activities, and travels very well. Although he gets along with other dogs, he does not play with younger ones (because of balance issues during play) or very small dogs. He does not seem to want to play fetch nor does he use chew toys. Indeed, he does not chew on anything but food, and is highly food motivated. He is also very human oriented, but followed the lead of his foster brother when he learned new house rules. He walks extremely well, but pulls on occasion when squirrels or rabbits are nearby. He walks fine with a Gentle Leader, but his gait is hopped, so his owner needs to be someone with good balance, who will be able to walk him several times a day, as he continues to rebuild strength and distance/endurance. He loves to be outdoors and walk on leash. A medium-sized fenced yard would be an additional bonus for this dog as he is an active and young senior.Having said that, Max would also be a wonderful companion dog and fellow couch potato at night. He seems to be much more Chocolate Lab than Red Doberman, with a strong lab lean, and would love to lie on the couch next to a human. He does not sit on laps, but would love to be on the bed sleeping next to his human. I would not expect him to break that habit easily (although he is trying). Max will also counter-surf if he can get away with it. Having lost his last owner, Max does have some minor anxiety issues over separation, and does not enjoy being crated. He is not destructive, though, and tolerates being confined to a room with music and his foster brother when the humans are gone from the house. He has no toileting issues doing his business outside, and sleeps very well at night. He knows many commands, and will give a bark when someone approaches the house or yard. He infrequently can give off an aura which can intimidate some less secure dogs, but really he is a loving goofball, and has done very well with dogs, kids and toddlers at the local Farmers' Market and adoption events. He loves meeting people! Max would love to have a stable home with an active adult/family to spend his senior years. He is very healthy, loves being groomed, and getting attention, affection, and slow but steady exercise. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Hi! I’m Commander, a Doberman mix and probably a little part unicorn. My birthday is probably sometime in January 2025 (thanks for asking, my favorite cake flavor is steak!). That makes me about 10 months old and 72 pounds of pure snuggle power. People are my favorite! Attention is my favorite! Hugs are my favorite! (Basically, if it involves love, I’m in.) My rescue coordinator calls me “Mister Let-Me-Hug-You". I’m a playful, goofy guy who’s still learning what to do with these extra-long legs, sometimes they forget they’re on the same team. I want nothing more than to be close to my people and soak up all the love they can give. I’m also a very strong boy who needs a confident, committed human to help me keep working on my leash manners. Right now, I’m fully convinced every walk is my big audition for a professional sled dog team. With patience and consistency, I’ll get the hang of it, I just have a little ways to go before I’m a “loose-leash” walker. Food is my love language. I’m playful, affectionate, goofy, and still figuring out where my long legs are supposed to go sometimes. Basically, I’m one big lovable jumble of joy who just needs a foster home (or adopter! please!) to continue helping me grow into my best self. If you’ve been dreaming of a happy, huggable, slightly uncoordinated adventure buddy, I’m your guy. No cats for me, thank you. I maybe able to live in an apartment but my tail alone will destroy every article you hold dear that is in proximity of my tail. I’m good with children, but I do love to hug, and at 72 pounds, I might accidentally knock them down. Dog parks aren’t my scene. I can be a bit overwhelming for some dogs, and my size can make others nervous. You don’t need a yard for me to be happy, though! Just common sense, regular walks, and maybe a pup cup or two. Professional training would be awesome for me, it’ll set us both up for success. Story
🌼 Meet Daffodil – A Shy Flower Blooming Into a Ray of Sunshine 🌼 Daffodil is pure joy wrapped up in puppy wiggles and soft ears. This gentle, shy girl is blossoming into an affectionate and playful pup who loves people, other dogs, and even cats! She’s indoors full-time now and thriving—calm, well-mannered, and soaking up love like sunlight. She’s still learning about crate training and how to walk on a leash, but she’s a fast learner and responds beautifully to gentle correction. Daffodil has the kind of personality that makes you fall for her without even realizing it. She’s sweet, silly, and a little bit magical—like a dream girl in dog form. She's still getting used to the idea that humans are safe and kind, but her tail is wagging more each day, and she’s always ready for playtime. Daffodil is the type of dog that makes fostering feel like a gift—and adopting her will feel like winning the lottery.

Story
💜 Adopt Dutchess – Loyal, Playful, and Learning to Trust 💜 Meet Dutchess, a beautiful, bashful sweetheart who’s equal parts puppy-playful and snuggle-curious. She’s still learning the ropes of being a family dog—but she’s showing so much promise. Dutchess is crate-trained, walks well on a leash, and gets along with other dogs and cats in her foster home. She does have some food guarding tendencies specifically when she’s in her crate, so we feed her separately to help her feel safe and secure. She’s currently working on this with consistency and patience—and she’s already making great progress. Dutchess is discovering that humans can be kind and loving, and while she starts off shy, she’s opening up more every day. She loves to play and is very much still a puppy at heart! She just needs a home that will keep helping her grow, set boundaries with love, and let her blossom at her own pace. If you're looking for a diamond in the rough who's already starting to shine—Dutchess is your girl. 💎
