He's describes as a friendly, inquisitive young fellow, by the other volunteers and staff. Dog friendly. Lenny's looking for a fresh start on life and will enjoy an active lifestyle. Sure to be a good walking or running partner. Hikes would be his idea of a great afternoon or weekend. His adoption fee is $400 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Hagerstown MD or Quicksburg VA. Rooster is fostered by our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. OH Hammi, she is a real ham for sure!! Hammi is a 6-month-old, 40lb doberman mix. She just loves attention and has been doing great with the humans of all ages in her foster home. She can be a little shy at first but once she warms up, she is game for all the love and cuddles she can get. She would be great as the only pet in the home or with a pup her size or larger and is okay with cats! She is doing well with the 40lb+ resident pups in her foster home and enjoys playing with her toys too. Hammi is house and crate trained and knows basic commands. She also walks well on leash. Are you Hammi's human? Hammi is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. The adoption fee for this dog is $350 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. She is a quiet and sweet girl who will bark at intruders but she will run and hide from them as well (lol). She needs a home without a lot of startling noises like dropping pans or tools. She is usually okay in the event, if she is nervous she goes in her kennel for a few minutes and comes right back with a wagging tail. She loves kids but she can get quite nervous if they are too active or loud. In that case, she just retreats to a comfortable viewing spot ;-). A yard is ideal as she will walk herself in the yard, even outside of the yard without a leash and return, simply because she is anxious about those "weird squirrel and bird things"(lol). She is always lounging in her kennel of her own volition. She cries to get in so we lock her out of it a bit so she can try to calm down and hang out. She is an indoor dog and has not been housed outside at all. She is 7 years old & we never knew her actual breed. She just needs some space to move around and she loves being near her humans!
