Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/12665Hi! My name is Skye I’m guessed to be Doberman mix and estimated to be about 2 years old. I’m a sweet girl and I currently weigh about 45 lbs. While I've only been with my foster family for a day, here's what you need to know about me so far: * I love to snuggle and give kisses * I'm doing great in my crate at night. * I met lots of people (big and small) and dogs today and liked everyone! * I love to run around the back yard and enjoyed a quick game of tug. * I'm doing great with the other dogs in my foster home (Click here). They have finally started playing with me! (Click here )!This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read more about heartworm disease here here

Story
Meet Izzy, the gorgeous mystery mix who is about 2 years old and weighs a stunning 55lbs. This lovely girl is a little shy, but she has come a long way during her 9 months in foster care. Izzy's transformation has been remarkable, and she's blossomed into a silly and affectionate companion. Although she may need a patient adopter and the company of another dog, Izzy's playful and loving nature shines through once she has had time to decompress. She's a treat-catching pro and enjoys a good belly rub when she feels comfortable. With Izzy, you'll discover a loyal and endearing friend ready to fill your days with joy and abundant kisses. Izzy's journey may have started with unknown origins, but her future is full of potential and love. Despite her initial shyness, her progress in foster care is a testament to her resilience and willingness to trust. Izzy's bark may be intimidating, but underneath that exterior is a gentle and playful soul. Her favorite squeaky hedgehog toy brings out her joyful side, and her chest and belly are her go-to spots for affectionate rubs. As you welcome Izzy into your home, be prepared to witness her continued growth and transformation into a confident and cherished companion. With patience and understanding, you'll be rewarded with a loyal and affectionate best friend who will brighten your days with her unique charm and beauty. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Maybe I was named after MARVEL's Nick Fury. Or maybe I was named after the Brad Pitt war movie But one this is for sure - I am NOT fur-ious!!! I am a really SWEET boy who loves children and adults, in fact I was the KID'S best friend when I was in my foster home. I was part of their birthday celebrations and was just in HEAVEN with all the kids :) I am looking for a home with school aged and older kids because I am a little protective of my toys and snacks- so older kids who understand my boundaries are the best ;) Maybe I am like Nick Fury because I can be a touch overwhelming to older and more timid dogs. I like dogs who are on the same level with me - you get it? ;) While I am not really big, less than 50 lbs, I am essentially 100 pounds of busy and need to be active. No apartment living for me, please! I like space and action and activity and being mentally stimulated - maybe I am a lot like Nick Fury ... hmmm, but nothing that a bunch of adventures wouldn't cure!!! Give me an active family or couple, and I am IN! I have successfully finished my heartworm treatment and am racing around waiting for you to race WITH me!!! Come on and adopt me and lets git to gitting!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Even though it's the end of Summer, flowers still bloom like in Spring! Meet our latest budding rose, Suzie! Suzie is a 2-year old, female, medium-sized (20-59#) Doberman/Shepherd mix. She is kind of like SUPERMOM!! Suzie was saved from under a house where she had 14 PUPPIES!! And SHE LOVED EACH AND EVERY ONE!! She was an AMAZING MOMMA!! She took amazing care of her pups and they have all gone on to their FUREVER homes! You can see WHY she deserves a nice soft place to land! She did her work, now it's HER turn to be spoiled for a change! :) Suzie is the sweetest little gumdrop around the block! Her ears are always perked up listening for fun to be had and she always has a smile on her face! Suzie is good with cats, dogs, and children but should be given patient and careful introductions to any and all new family members. Suzie is also crate trained. Suzie has been treated for heartworms and IS available for adoption! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
MEET SAM!!   This silly and happy-go-lucky 14 month old puppy was brought in by animal control for being tied outside with no shelter or food/water. His past has not affected him one bit, and he absolutely loves people and other dogs.   His records say he is a doberman mix, but we don't believe it. Because of his delicious OVERbite, we think he may be part shark! At 43 lbs, he'd fit in any pool or tub, but this land shark hates baths and getting wet in general.    Sam knows 'sit,' 'down,' 'wait,' 'leave it,' and is learning not to pull on a leash. He doesn't want to miss a single smell or opportunity to sniff, so we are teaching him that if he walks nicely, the smell will still be there. It's so hard to be patient when the fresh grass and flowers smell so good!   Sam is house broken and crate trained. He has had a couple of accidents in his crate, but that was due to human error.   Sam's overbite is really something else, and it just makes him so Sam! He does sometimes nibble fingers when taking treats, but he can't help it, so we give him treats on the side of his mouth instead of the front, so fingers are spared.    Sam absolutely loves other dogs and plays well and hard with both male and female dogs his size or smaller. We recommend he go to a home with another dog and with children 12 and up. He will jump up on his person when he comes out of his crate, and we are working on that, but we would hate for Sam to accidentally knock a small child to the ground. Sam's adoption donation fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip.  You can apply for Sam by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.net or www.tarashouse.org.  Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.May 22, 2023, 10:48 am
