Story
Harvest is an 8 year old pit bull and german shepherd mix. I have his DNA report if anyone is interested. He loves to be outside and leads a fairly active life. He loves to hike or go for walks and camping is one of his favorite things to do. He likes to be curled up under a blanket and loves to cuddle in bed or on the couch. He gets along well with other dogs but he is leash reactive with other dogs, he'll bark at them. He has been trained using an e-collar with a remote that you control. It helps break his attention when he gets reactive and it also can help if he gets distracted while off leash. He has lived both in the city and on 40 acres so he is used to either environment. He will bark when someone comes to the door but is good with guests once he knows them. He is not good with younger children, which is the reason I am looking to find him a new home. In the right environment he is a great, loving, loyal dog. He needs a big yard, no kids, and no cats.

Story
Hi, I’m Kendra! My first interview question for my new person is: Do you have a car? I LOVE CARS! Car rides are my favorite thing in the world. Now that we have that out of the way, I’ll tell you a bit about me! I’m a Belgian Malinois, which I believe translates to “too smart for my own good.” I tend to think I am smarter than most dogs and most people too. I learn new skills very quickly and I love to have a challenge to keep my brain busy. I am an expert in “sit,” “up,” and “off” and new commands come pretty quickly to me, especially when treats are involved. I absolutely LOVE to play fetch with a basketball and I like to herd the ball around too! I am an older girl in number only, and I am not looking for a quiet retirement home to rest. Instead, I want a home where I can have mental stimulation, lots of exercise, and to be included in my new human’s activities. Sometimes I get excited and pull when I’m out on walks, but with a little reminder or two I’m back to walking nicely. I love my caregivers at the shelter, and I know once I meet my person I will bond very quickly and love them forever. I will do best in a home with adults only or older children, as I am pretty tall and bouncy and may knock younger kids over. I do not like cats, but I have met a few dog friends at the shelter. If you have dogs at home, you can bring them to the shelter to meet me and see if we get along!

Story
Our special girl, Twilight, has been waiting for her forever family for almost 2 years and we can’t wait for her to meet her match. She will be a fantastic family member. Here is what we would love to share about her!Hello, world! I’m Twilight and if I had to choose one world to describe me I would say FUN! I am looking for a forever family who will appreciate my energy and silly personality and, in turn, I will make them laugh every day! I am a huge toy enthusiast and I especially love to play tug-o-war. My favorite thing is to run and play outside and I think I might be the fastest zoomer to ever zoom. After I’ve played myself out, my second favorite thing is to snooze on a comfy couch or dog bed. I’ve learned “sit” and “shake” and I would love to keep learning more commands. I am so happy when I learn something new and hear that I’m a good girl. I enjoy my walks, but I do need to brush up on my leash walking skills. With treats and a bit of time, I’ll get it down! Young kids make me really nervous and I would be happiest in a child-free home. If you have any other dogs at home, bring them to the shelter to play and see if we hit it off. If you think you may be Twilight’s perfect match, please contact HSWM to learn more about her!

Story
Hey everyone, It is so very nice to meet you! My name is Hazel, what is yours? I am a major love bug who absolutely wants all the attention I can get! I get so excited when I see my favorite people; which is everyone, and I just jump and bounce and get so happy! I do not have much interest in toys, I would much rather be with you! I am very gentle with taking treats too, and honestly those are just the very best! I also listen very well, I would just be an awesome hiking buddy who would love to explore the world with you and see all the sights!I am going to be honest with you, I love people SO much, that I am not a huge fan of sharing. If you have any dogs I would be happy to meet them, but I will also be super content with it just being you and me! I would very much love to go with you wherever you go, but if there is somewhere you are going that I cannot come with, please be sure to have a nice bed for me in the house to snooze on while I wait for you. If I am in the yard I may try to climb out so I can be with you! I hope that sounds like a plan, because I am all for it! I hope you are interested in meeting me, because I am in the same boat!If you think Hazel would be an awesome fit for your lifestyle, please contact HSWM to learn more about her!

Story
Taz is a beautiful collie mix, a little over 1 1/2 years old. He is a shy boy but warms up tremendously once he gets comfortable and loves to shower you in kisses! He does fabulous in a crate and is pretty well potty trained but still needs encouragement until he fully adapts. He does well with kids, but could use a break every once-in-a-while. He is a fast learner and would love a fur-sibling as he loves other dogs! He is a fun, loving pup and would be the perfect addition to a patient family. Come down and see if he can win you over with his smile. His adoption fee is $75.
