Story
Hash brown is a loving, happy 2 year old with extreme food aggression. She came to us at a rescue in northern California emaciated & frightened. She loves people who spend time with her, but she has "stranger danger," barking and snarling when some people enter her space. In this case, employees of the rescue passing through "her" space. She reacts to men, but not all men, savagely, but not to others. She also has major food aggression. She bit an employee who fed her, and only moved to leave her space and she lunged at them and bit them, then continued to be aggressive, but did not bite again. Hash Bown is very smart. She knows how to Sit, Stay, Spin, and Shake. She wants to please. She loves people, gets along with other dogs, and with the right training, in a less stressful environment, we are sure she would thrive. Our rescue is over-crowded. We cannot keep a dog who may bite again. She will be euthanized if we can't find her a home.

Story
Rehoming our sweet 4 y/o fixed female Golden Pyrenees mix. She was rescued from a breeder in SoCal and we’ve had her for 2 years and would be best as a as a companion dog, ideally a single family dog in the country. She’s been around goats, chickens, cats, kids, cows and is very sweet and gentle to all save some other dogs while out in the world. Her only fault is she has leash reactivity due to lack of socialization as a puppy and we’ve been working and training her for 2 years and she’s progressed slowly. She’s good living with 2 other dogs now, but the breeder had her with 8 others and bred her for her puppies (like a stock animal early) so she has canine stress issues. That said, the main issue she needs continued training with is leash reactivity and occasional aggression to other dogs when out in the world. Sadly, if we don’t have her a new home by 4/29/24, she will be getting a behavioral euthanasia since CA shelter’s have failed us by refusing to take dogs in need.
