Story
* To be considered for a meet/adoption, please read the full biography to see whether they may be a good fit for your home, then submit an online application at www.dpsrescue.org.    All Hail Queen Romi! Her Majesty Is Accepting Applications. Not everyone is qualified to serve royalty. Fortunately... Romi is currently interviewing. Romi is an 8 year old queen with a heart of gold, impeccable standards, and the quiet elegance of someone who knows exactly who she is. She's sweet, playful, incredibly intelligent, and wonderfully independent. While she may not hand out royal audiences on the first day, those lucky enough to earn her trust discover a loyal companion whose love feels like the greatest honor imaginable. Let's be honest... Romi isn't high maintenance. She's just...exclusive. Think of her as a priceless museum masterpiece. You don't run up and hug the Mona Lisa. You admire. You appreciate. You approach respectfully. And eventually... If you've proven yourself worthy... The museum lets you get a little closer. That's Romi. Her foster family jokes that although she's never actually visited Egypt, she has fully embraced the ancient tradition of being worshipped by humans. Honestly? She's quite good at it. Romi appreciates calm voices, gentle movements, and people who understand that trust is something to be earned, not rushed. She enjoys observing the world from her favorite hiding places until she's decided the new human in front of her is worthy of an introduction. Fortunately, there's a shortcut. Premium treats. Feather toys. Those are essentially Romi's official love languages. Present either one, and you'll notice Her Majesty becoming...remarkably approachable. Once you've earned your place in her royal court, everything changes. Romi blossoms into an incredibly affectionate, playful companion who forms deep bonds with her favorite person. She's wonderfully loyal and genuinely enjoys spending time with the people she trusts. It's one of those relationships that feels incredibly rewarding because you know you earned it. And trust us... It's worth every minute. Despite her regal reputation, Romi also has a wonderfully playful side. A feather wand can instantly awaken her inner kitten, reminding everyone that beneath all that sophistication is a girl who still knows how to have fun. She'll chase. She'll pounce. She'll make you laugh. Then she'll gracefully return to looking majestic, as though none of that happened. Romi would be happiest as your one and only pet. She enjoys being the undisputed queen of the household, where she can soak up all the love, attention, and admiration she believes is rightfully hers. (We have reviewed her request and...honestly, we think she's earned it.) If Romi could design her perfect kingdom, it would include: A peaceful home. Soft blankets worthy of a queen. A sunny window for supervising her realm. A generous supply of gourmet treats. Feather toys delivered on demand. And one devoted human who understands that the greatest friendships aren't always the fastest—they're the ones built on patience, trust, and mutual respect. Imagine the first time Romi chooses your lap instead of her hiding spot. Imagine the quiet satisfaction of seeing her relax completely because she knows she's finally safe. Imagine spending the next decade with a cat whose affection feels like a privilege rather than an expectation. Some cats love everyone. Romi chooses someone. And if you're patient enough to let her write your name into her royal guest book, you'll gain one of the most loyal companions you'll ever know. Romi has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $150. If you've been searching for a cat with elegance, intelligence, a playful spirit, and just the right amount of royal attitude, Queen Romi is ready to rule your heart. October 13, 2026, 11:35 am

Story
Born December 2025 Atlas (shorthair male) & Athena (long haired female) have been through almost everything challenging a kitten could face early in life. So their names were chosen to reflect their perseverance & strength. They were rescued from a dangerous living situation at a metal recycling plant with two other siblings, but sadly the others did not survive. Because of everything Atlas & Athena have endured, their bond is inseparable. They are all the other has had for many months. They are still getting used to being held but they love their pets & playtime with their human & will absolutely melt your heart. Atlas is a goofy guy with such charisma and a uniquely intelligent cat brain. He likes to play hide n seek & will follow you around the house like your sidekick. He likes to help with house chores by licking the dishes & chasing the broom. Athena is a gentle, fluffy doll of a cat who is gentle, kind, & mindful. She is calm yet energetic when the right toy is presented. Athena appreciates a selection of the finest brushes for her elegant & radiant coat. She will purr endlessly with each stroke. These two are looking for a very special home where they have lots of room to roam & live with people who absolutely adore them. Although they are both healthy, Atlas is immunocompromised from previous infections & will require annual vet visits to ensure he is still a good, strong boy. Adopting these two will be extremely rewarding and fill your heart & home with joy. Apply to bring them home today! https://form.jotform.com/pinkpawsftc/adoption October 11, 2026, 10:14 pm

Story
Born April 2026 June Bug is a calm & quiet soul with a generous supply of love that sneaks up on you. June Bug requires a little time & patience before she gets nestled into your lab for endless cuddles. June Bug will gaze up at you with the utmost admiration as she loves her human interaction. Her fur is softer than silk and her purr as smooth & soothing.  June Bug has bloomed into a beautiful healthy kitten, a large contrast to her early days. June was rescued with her 4 siblings from dangerous conditions and her chances at survival were very slim as she was severely malnourished with respiratory infections. June Bug’s tenacity is what gave the rescuer the confidence to preserve with her. She is happy and healthy and ready for adoption. Because June B is social she will need to be in a home with other friendly, playful cats or adopted with a sibling. She is spayed, microchipped, & up to date on her vaccines. Moonlight was found wandering the streets of Oakland after her previous owner sadly passed away. This pretty long-haired tuxedo girl is clearly overjoyed to be back indoors where she belongs. She is a total lovebug who melts the moment she gets attention. Moonlight is incredibly snuggly and affectionate. She is highly food-motivated (treats are her love language!), and she shows her appreciation with dramatic, happy flops the second you start petting her. Shell settle right beside you, purring deeply while making biscuits non-stop pure contentment in cat form.  One of her favorite pastimes is proudly carrying around her beloved pickle toy like a trophy. She does wonderfully with other cats and would thrive in a home with feline siblings or as an only cat whichever fits your family best.  At just 2 years old, she still has plenty of playful energy but clearly prefers the cozy indoor life of snuggles, soft beds, and reliable meals. Medical: Spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. After providing her top notch medical care, her echo-cardiogram showed that she was born with an enlarged heart. Controlled by daily medication, her vet assures us she can live a long, healthy life. Upon adoption, all medical records will be provided. She is easy going when taking her oral meds of a diuretic and anti-blood clotting meds.  Her official diagnosis is Congenital Mitral Dysplasia with Tachypnea/Respiratory effort. She takes her medication easily every day and is doing very well on them.
