Story
Ziggy is a very friendly and loving cat. Loves to be petted. He was adopted when he was only a couple months old and has always been indoors. He will turn 8 years old late this year. He's smart and knows how to open doors (handles) and responds to commands. He's also a little naughty at times and likes to mess around with his cat brother (even though the latter doesn't appreciate that very much). He's good around kids. Very chill. Due to our current personal situation we have no other option than finding him another home where he's loved and well taken care of. We love him, but are no longer able to give him the attention he deserves.

Story
IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION AT TCRESCUE.COM/ADOPT Cheesepuff is a neutered young adult orange and white tabby born approximately 9/20/22.   Cheesepuff is a very sweet, quiet cat in his foster home. He enjoys playing with toys and snuggling with the other foster cats. He loves being pet, and tolerates brushing, but particularly like butt scritches. Cheesepuff is very comfortable around cat-savvy dogs and loves treats, particularly fish paste sticks (think Churu, Tiki Cat Stix). He likes to bathe in the sunroom on the cushions with the other cats and enjoys batting around mouse toys. He is very fond of his brother Cheeseslice.    He has a beautiful orange and white coat, of a longer medium length, though he does not require brushing, but it would be beneficial to brush him occasionally to reduce hairballs. His fur is extremely soft. Cheesepuff would probably do well in a home with very respectful children, as long as he has another confident feline companion in the home. His ideal situation would be to go to a home with his brother Cheeseslice, or at least have another cat in the home he can snuggle and hang out with while his humans are away. He has been waiting a very long time for a loving home and would love a place to call his own! Cheesepuff's brother (Cheeseslice) tested positive feline calicivirus and feline herpes at two months old and is likely a carrier for these feline viruses, so the best home for him  will be with someone who understands the possibility that he could have "breakouts"- however, in the year he has been with his foster, he has shown no intrusive symptoms of the viruses. Cheesepuff does have a "leaky" right eye (meaning it will get a little gooey), but he keeps it pretty clean. The foster's own cat was also tested for the viruses one year after they had lived together in the same household, and it came out negative. As long as vaccinations are up to date, there's a good chance Cheesepuff can move into a household that already has resident cats, with no viral exchange. Cats with feline herpes or calicivirus may exhibit symptoms or flareups ranging in severity, randomly or in times of stress throughout their life. Learn why kittens in pairs are healthier and happier at: http://tcrescue.com/why2kittens Cheesepuff is being fostered in Gilroy.   Adoption fee of $65 covers deworming, rabies and one FVRCP vaccination, microchip, and neuter  surgery.   If Cheesepuff is adopted with one of his foster siblings, the total adoption fee is only $75 for the pair! If you would like to meet this cat, please start by filling out our adoption application at tcrescue.com/adopt   ADOPTION INQUIRIES SUBMITTED WITHOUT A COMPLETED APPLICATION FROM THE LINK ABOVE MAY NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. Story
Ernie is a dignified, senior gentleman with a lot of love to give. After many years on the streets, he is looking for a calm, comfy place to retire. Offer him scritches, and this affectionate boy will flop against you and joyfully purr, drool, and make biscuits. He would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a sweet, goofy senior boy.  Ernie tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (“FIV”) which causes a weakening of a cat’s immune system. Most cats that have FIV live a long, normal lives, both in quality and longevity.  Prior to adoption, all cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped. This cat is currently in a foster home. To meet the cat, please fill out an adoption application so that we'll have your contact information, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Princess with a Big Heart & TailAfter 7 years, Mercedes's was returned to us due to no fault of her own. She is a fun loving princess looking for her forever home. Mercedes was shy upon her return and it took a while for her to take over the house. Now she owns the place and will tell you so. She is quite vocal when she wants to play and at meal times. She loves chasing after feather and other wand toys. She requires you to participate. She naps on her own and plays with her humans. Mercedes wants to be a lap cat but that a recent development. Previously she preferred to sit next to her human while they read or watched television. She enjoys brushing. It's needed to care for all that fluff. That fur makes her look larger than she is. After 7 years as a single cat, Mercedes is not prepared to share her human with another cat. She truly wants to be the princess in the castle. When Mercedes returned to us she received a complete medical check up and updated vaccines. Unfortunately the vet found two problems. Mercedes has a grade 2-3 heart murmur and mild to moderate hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. She receives twice daily oral medication that she takes without complaining. Fortunately Mercedes is completely asymptomatic and enjoys and active life. Her heart problems do not stop her from running around just like a healthy cat. Come meet Mercedes and her tail. It has a life of its own. Here is her kitten bio: Mercedes was named after the car under which she was found. She was a scrappy little girl at 1.5 lbs, ready to take on all comers. With some TLC and regular meals, Mercedes no longer hides under the bed and prefers being with people. She knows being an extrovert is a lot more fun. While she plays well alone, attacking her toys and packing paper, she prefers interacting with her human friends getting them to move the wand toys and using their legs as launch pads. After playtime, a lap is a good place to crash. Mercedes is vocal only at meal time. She has the cutest “mew.” She also likes a solid routine: food, play, nap, cuddlesVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Los Hermanos, bonded to PreciosoThese two can be very playful and affectionate with one another. They are referred to as Los Hermanos meaning the brothers. They are receptive to being petted and conversation in English and Spanish.  Precioso the grey one can be very chill. His brother Papa Coco the black one is a bundle of energy. Although, they are different in their personalities they interact with one another along with snuggles and cleaning each other. Precioso is slow to warm up and can appear to be disinterested in interacting and socializing at first. He is reactive to cat toys and greets his foster family with meows and purrs. He is also smaller in size to his brother. Papa Coco is a bigger cat and his fur is long. His golden eyes are stunning. He is a purr machine too and feels so soft. Watching them nap together is heartwarming as they embrace one another. Along with that minutes before a nap they can be heard playing and chasing each other. These two were rescued together at approximately 11 weeks old. They were neutered and vaccinated with the support of 13th Street Cats. The request is for Los Hermanos to be adopted together and are kept indoors. They have been exposed to adult cats with very minimal interaction. They are curious to meet new cats it is the new cats that are unsure about these two brothers.  Contact Audrey Randazzo by email:audreyrandazzo6@gmail.com   THIS animal listing is a COURTESY LISTING - not a 13th St Cat Rescue animal.
