This beautiful and friendly kitty was abandoned along with her two kittens at our Safehouse. She has become a beacon of hope for the lost and forgotten. She found solace with us, where her independent and loyal nature shines through. Now, she's ready for a new mission: to bring joy and companionship to a loving home.  She's no stranger to change, having weathered life's ups and downs with grace and resilience. Despite her past, Leilani's spirit remains unbroken. Her amazing foster home has helped her have faith in humans again. Her affectionate nature and warm purrs are sure to fill your home with joy. She did test positive for FIV which means her immune system is not as strong as other kitties and she could be more susceptible to certain health issues as she ages. However, kitties with this status live a normal lifespan and she is sure to be a steadfast friend for life. Apply to adopt Leilani and let her sprinkle a bit of her magic into your life! She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FeLV, dewormed, flea treated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $150.March 7, 2026, 12:03 pm

She's a sweet soul, always ready to share a tender moment with those she trusts. Romi is also fiercely independent, showing a smartness that shines through in her problem-solving abilities. She can be a bit shy at first, but this only adds to her charm. Once she warms up to you, her loyalty is unwavering. Although Romi had never visited Egypt, she practices the ancient art of being adored by humans. Her body is more than a temple; it’s a museum artifact that you can look at but not touch unless given permission. As with most museums, hushed tones and slow movements are much appreciated. To summon this fluffy antiquity from her hiding spaces, only sacrifices of the finest treats and feather toys are deemed acceptable. Romi’s curator must be dedicated to her maintenance and enjoy having just her to care for. She would love to be the queen of your heart. She is looking for a forever home where she can share her sweetness and playfulness. She's ready to be a loyal companion, a playful friend, and a source of joy. She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, flea treated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $150. Adopt Romi and experience the unique bond of love and loyalty that she will offer!March 7, 2026, 12:03 pm

Story
Luna is a gorgeous, long-haired loving and sweet cat that wants human attention and care. She so loves to be petted and brushed and to hang out with you. She has lovely long gray fur with a cute little white patch on her chest. She looks as if she has a lion's mane with her fur collar! Luna is a lap kitty, but is content to lie in her little bed next to you. When I, as her foster mom, read up in her room, she faithfully lies on my legs keeping me warm. So cozy! She runs to you upon arrival in her room asking for pats and belly rubs as she flops over, and she has fun chasing strings and feathers. She kneads your belly or the ground when she is happy or enticed by her string toy.She is ok with non-alpha cats as she is a bit timid, and possibly with very gentle dogs--but no experience there. Luna is spayed, vaccinated, litter box perfect, uses her scratching posts exclusively, and recently had teeth cleaned. She is the sweetest girl and needs her home with a kind and gentle person in a quiet household. Please consider Luna for your gentle home. To adopt Luna, please email: cregers@comcast.net for an application December 8, 2025, 9:25 pm

Story
Softmax is a fluffy guy with a gentle and kind nature and a quiet distinguished presence.  He is also very affectionate and loves closeness. He brings a calm, comforting energy that makes bedtime special, and believes blankets are meant to be shared!! Sleeping next to his person under a blanket is clearly one of his favorite things. In the daytime, Softmax is wonderfully talkative in a conversational way and seems to want to stay connected.  Despite his refined demeanor, he absolutely loves being carried like a baby.  When you hold him, he relaxes completely, purring and gazing up at you with so much trust.   He loves playing with toys, especially wands, when he will softly pounce with focused eyes and excitement.  He loves play, but is never rough.     Softmax also gets along well with other cats and would enjoy the companionship of another calm, friendly feline.  More than anything, he just wants to be near those he loves.  He is a wonderful, loving cat who has come so far after living on the streets and is ready to be indoors in a warm, loving environment to feel truly at home. He is vaccinated, microchipped, fully litter box trained, and healthy. To meet Softmax. please email cregers@comcast.net to receive an applicationJanuary 23, 2026, 3:19 pm

Story
Simba was born January 27th 2021. I adopted his sister and him from my co-worker at the time. Originally only wanted one, but the one I wanted was attached to another. So I adopted both. He is super affectionate, very vocal when he wants something. Loves to cuddle and be in your lap as much as possible. He's slightly skiddish, just needs a little patience with new people and he's fine within a minute or two. He's been introduced to the outside and loves it, only ever been in an apartment and I think he and his sister would love a house or someone with land/farm to be indoor/outdoor cats. He has his first round of shots, but not the second. I really don't want to adopt them out, but we are moving and they cannot come with us. They need eachother or will become very depressed, so they would both need to be adopted together. Would love to meet and greet if you're interested.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Princess with a Big Heart & TailMercedes is a fun loving princess looking for her forever home. Mercedes is initially shy and it takes a few days for her to take over the house. Then she will own the place and will tell you so. She is quite vocal when she wants to play and at meal times. She loves chasing after feather and other wand toys. She requires you to participate. She naps on her own and plays with her humans. Mercedes wants to be a lap cat but she needs to know you first. Initially she prefers to sit next to her human while they read or watched television. She enjoys brushing. It's needed to care for all that fluff. That fur makes her look larger than she is. After years as a single cat, Mercedes is not prepared to share her human with another cat. She truly wants to be the princess in the castle. When Mercedes returned to us she received a complete medical check up and updated vaccines. Unfortunately the vet found two problems. Mercedes has a grade 2-3 heart murmur and mild to moderate hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. She receives twice daily oral medication that she takes without complaining. Fortunately Mercedes is completely asymptomatic and enjoys and active life. Her heart problems do not stop her from running around just like a healthy cat. Come meet Mercedes and her tail. It has a life of its own. Here is her kitten bio: Mercedes was named after the car under which she was found. She was a scrappy little girl at 1.5 lbs, ready to take on all comers. With some TLC and regular meals, Mercedes no longer hides under the bed and prefers being with people. She knows being an extrovert is a lot more fun. While she plays well alone, attacking her toys and packing paper, she prefers interacting with her human friends getting them to move the wand toys and using their legs as launch pads. After playtime, a lap is a good place to crash. Mercedes is vocal only at meal time. She has the cutest “mew.” She also likes a solid routine: food, play, nap, cuddlesVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. To Adopt one of our Cats or Kittens, please fill out an Online Adoption Application on our website  https://www.13thstcats.org/info/adoption If the animal bio says that they are a "Courtesy Listing", the contact information will be included in the animal bio for you to reach out to them directly. Thank you for wanting to Adopt! -------------- 13thstcats.org is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit, No-Kill Rescue Group based in San Jose. We try our best to match our cats to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks.
