Took in Cooper as a baby after he was born to a stray cat. He is 10 years old, born in Sept. always stays indoors and litter box trained. He has been neutered. He likes laying on laps and being pet. Loves being brushed. Doesn’t play with many toys but loves sitting in empty boxes and chasing wadded up paper balls. Doesn’t eat special food or take medication. Does not enjoy car rides!

Story
My friends at Wayside say:-I am very sweet and affectionate-I like to roll around for attention!-I love to be pet! Once I am adjusted, I may turn into a snuggle bug*Special Note:This cat is from a hoarding situation. They will likely need time to adjust to home life. They have lived with many other cats but may have not experienced socialization with people and things like petting and large open spaces are overwhelming for them. Adopters should be willing to be patient during this process. Sequestering a cat in one small room for 2-4 weeks can be very helpful and gives the cat a safe place to call their own. It is important to let them go at their own pace with building a relationship with their new family and limiting lots of commotion and visitors in the beginning is wise. They may have not experienced life outside of the hoarding situation, so things could be overwhelming for them at first. Patience and positive interactions are crucial. Aversive methods of training should be avoided. Using treats, play and enrichment to build trust and teach new things is the way to go! All cats are of course unique and the time in which they each warm up to people and places is just as unique as they are.
