Story
Shadow is a sweet and loving 9 year old girl! She has the softest fur and loves to purr! She loves cuddles, cat naps, running and playing, looking out the window, and meal time. She is very friendly and adjusted to her foster home very well. She was sadly surrendered to our program when her Mom had to go into a nursing home. She was very loved for her first 9 years and it shows. She is an independent lady who’s happy to do her own thing but also loves to spend time with you. Shadow uses her litter box well and enjoys brushing. Given her long coat her family will need to perform regular brushing to keep this girl happy and healthy. If you are interested in meeting Shadow, please fill out an application via our website at https://therescueproject.net/adoptionapplication and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. This will get you the fastest response. Shadow's adoption fee is $75 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, spay, microchip, and testing for feline leukemia and FIV All cats adopted from The Rescue Project are intended to be indoor only cats.

Story
Please contact Della @ (kittycityks@aol.com) for more information about this pet. Our adoption center is open both Saturday & Sunday every weekend! Saturday's noon-5pm & Sunday's noon-4pm. Lightning is an older boy who LOST HIS ELDERLY OWNER very suddenly. This has been devastating for him because he was with his owner since he was a kitten. After a few weeks with his foster Mom and some great TLC, vet care and healthy food, he is ready to find a home where he can lay around, eat good food, give love and GET LOVE!  Lightning is a very social and affectionate boy and purrs quite loudly when you are close. He loves to be petted and brushed and gives sweet gentle head butts. Lightning is looking for a loving home where he can retire and just lay around and be a companion and lap kitty to someone who will care and love him for the duration of his life. Lightning is around 17 years old. His vision is significantly impaired for reasons unknown.  It is not due to high blood pressure (BP is puurfect); nor does it appear to be glaucoma.  We are still looking into the possibility of detached retinas. Regardless of the cause, it is likely untreatable and it doesn’t appear to bother him.  He has adapted and continues to adapt quite well to new spaces. His foster Mom has found that he is quick to figure out the lay of the land if you show him where everything is immediately. Other than his eyes, he is very healthy for a cat his age.  He is on no medications.  Lightning will do best in a mature home or one with older, cat-savvy children (16+). He has been around other kitties and shows no aggression.  He will likely get along with other cat-friendly cats with proper introductions, but will be fine (and may prefer) to be an only kitty.  He has only been around his foster Mom’s very cat-friendly dog and doesn’t really react as long as the dog doesn’t get too close or surprise him. He would likely be okat with cat-friendly dogs with slow and proper introductions. Lightning is scheduled for a dental appointment and His FUTURE VETTING will be sponsored. Lightning was born approximately January 22, 2007, and his adoption fee is $125, or adopt two and the second is half off. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, is microchipped, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus. Come see this sweet darling at our adoption center this weekend!  You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. During the week, all our kitties live in licensed foster homes, and while most do come to the adoption center each weekend, not every kitty attends every weekend. For more information, or to confirm whether a particular cat or kitten will be present that weekend, please email kittycityks@aol.com.  Kitty City Kansas Rescue is a volunteer, non-profit organization.  May 27, 2024, 11:11 am

Story
Mango is a young male adult cat who loves to tell you when he’s hungry and likes to let you know when he wants some attention. He doesn’t like being left out of your bedroom at night so you need to let him in so he can be around you and leave whenever he wants. He is super fluffy and doesn’t mind getting hugs and squishes. He’ll be nervous when he meets new people but he’ll warm up once he gets used to you. He loves to lay out with his paws up or hide in a box or closet.

Story
She’s just about 2 years old very loving and energetic. She gets along with people and pets but I haven’t had her around other cats before so I’m not sure how she’ll act. She starts off shy but once she warms up she’s very loving and needs lots of attention when she’s not napping. She loves running around so having the space will be best for her. She will come with a 62 inch cat tree, dry and wet food, toys, food bowls, and litter box.

Story
Snowball came into rescue almost 2 years ago. She was an older kitten, but super sick. Her foster home was asked to treat her for her upper respiratory infection, so that she could then be released back to her colony outside. Snowball was a feral kitten that was TNR'd (Trapped, fixed and to be returned). She wears a badge of honor for her life as a feral kitty. She has a tipped ear, which indicates to humans that she has been fixed. Her foster mom treated her infection only to find out that Snowball is deaf, or mostly deaf. Snowball's deafness makes her fearful, which confirmed to Snowball's foster mom, that she could not be released back to her colony. Her survival in the outdoor would be full of perils. Snowball loves the other kitties that have come and gone in her foster room. She needs a home with humans that understand that she will come to them in her own time. . Snowball loves churu treat, and she likes being petted when foster mom scoops her up! If Snowball could find a cat savvy home, maybe someone that has had a deaf kitty, that would be ideal. A home with another chill kitty that could guide her and head bump with her would also be great! Snowball is ready for the next phase in her life . Are you her match?

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Longhaired Lily wears the badge of a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) kitty proudly, with her tipped ear indicating she's been fixed. She spent some time living outside, but thanks to the kindness of the community, she found her way to Meowy Matchmakers. Lily's journey to indoor life hasn't been easy, but her sweet nature and friendly demeanor have won her many admirers. Lily is a sweet and affectionate kitty with a heart of gold. She may have been a bit hesitant at first, but she's quickly warming up to the idea of indoor living. Lily loves attention and will happily engage in conversation with you, especially if it means she gets the answers she wants. She's a smart girl who knows what she likes! Currently, Lily is in a foster room with several other cats, but in her perfect forever home, she would be the center of attention. She's not too keen on sharing her space with other felines, so she'd thrive best as the only cat in the household. While she hasn't been around dogs, with a proper introduction, she may adjust well. Lily would do well in a home with older children, preferably over the age of 7, who can understand and respect her boundaries. She's a gentle soul who deserves a loving family to call her own. Providing her with a cat tower would be the cherry on top, as she loves to climb and explore her surroundings. Due to her longhaired coat, Lily will need to be brushed daily to keep her looking her best. But with her silky fur and captivating eyes, it's a small price to pay for the love and companionship she'll bring to her new home. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with affection and make you laugh with her quirky personality, Longhaired Lily is the purrfect match for you!
