Please contact Della @ (kittycityks@aol.com) for more information about this pet. Our adoption center is open both Saturday & Sunday every weekend! Saturday's noon-5pm & Sunday's noon-4pm. Marney is a playful, affectionate, fluffy princess! She is full of energy…she can get so hyper when she plays, it’s comical. The other thing Marney loves is attention….as all princesses do! She is not a fan of being held but she loves being pet and will come lay on your lap when she wants to. Marney does not like other cats very much and needs to be an only cat. Marney is looking for a family who will give her lots of love and attention and who enjoy play time! Marney was born approximately August 12, 2020, and her adoption fee is $125. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots and deworming, has a microchip, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus.  You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. During the week, all our kitties live in licensed foster homes, and while most do come to the adoption center each weekend, not every kitty attends every weekend. For more information, or to confirm whether a particular cat or kitten will be present that weekend, please email kittycityks@aol.com.  Kitty City Kansas Rescue is a volunteer, non-profit organization.  April 25, 2024, 9:17 am

Story
Please contact Della @ (kittycityks@aol.com) for more information about this pet. Our adoption center is open both Saturday & Sunday every weekend! Saturday's noon-5pm & Sunday's noon-4pm. Lightning is an older boy who LOST HIS ELDERLY OWNER very suddenly. This has been devastating for him because he was with his owner since he was a kitten. After a few weeks with his foster Mom and some great TLC, vet care and healthy food, he is ready to find a home where he can lay around, eat good food, give love and GET LOVE!  Lightning is a very social and affectionate boy and purrs quite loudly when you are close. He loves to be petted and brushed and gives sweet gentle head butts. Lightning is looking for a loving home where he can retire and just lay around and be a companion and lap kitty to someone who will care and love him for the duration of his life. Lightning is around 17 years old. His vision is significantly impaired for reasons unknown.  It is not due to high blood pressure (BP is puurfect); nor does it appear to be glaucoma.  We are still looking into the possibility of detached retinas. Regardless of the cause, it is likely untreatable and it doesn’t appear to bother him.  He has adapted and continues to adapt quite well to new spaces. His foster Mom has found that he is quick to figure out the lay of the land if you show him where everything is immediately. Other than his eyes, he is very healthy for a cat his age.  He is on no medications.  Lightning will do best in a mature home or one with older, cat-savvy children (16+). He has been around other kitties and shows no aggression.  He will likely get along with other cat-friendly cats with proper introductions, but will be fine (and may prefer) to be an only kitty.  He has only been around his foster Mom’s very cat-friendly dog and doesn’t really react as long as the dog doesn’t get too close or surprise him. He would likely be okat with cat-friendly dogs with slow and proper introductions. Lightning is scheduled for a dental appointment and His FUTURE VETTING will be sponsored. Lightning was born approximately January 22, 2007, and his adoption fee is $125, or adopt two and the second is half off. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, is microchipped, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus. Come see this sweet darling at our adoption center this weekend!  You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. Story
Please contact Della @ (kittycityks@aol.com) for more information about this pet. Our adoption center is open both Saturday & Sunday every weekend! Saturday's noon-5pm & Sunday's noon-4pm. Ginger is an older, petite, long-haired girl who was dropped off at a shelter un-spayed, with ear mites, missing teeth and weighing only 5 lbs. Despite that, she is a very lovable girl and super affectionate. She can be picked up and held and adores petting and attention. She will stand on her hind legs to reach up for more! Sometimes her little tongue sticks out from the missing teeth and she may drool a bit when she is super happy after lots of petting. She should be fine around older children and other non-dominate cats after proper introductions, or she can easily be an only cat. It is unknown how she will be around dogs, but possibly it would work with a quiet, cat friendly dog.  Ginger was born approximately March 20, 2016, and her adoption fee is $125, or adopt two and the second is one-half price. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots and deworming, has a microchip, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus.  You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. Story
Mango is a young male adult cat who loves to tell you when he’s hungry and likes to let you know when he wants some attention. He doesn’t like being left out of your bedroom at night so you need to let him in so he can be around you and leave whenever he wants. He is super fluffy and doesn’t mind getting hugs and squishes. He’ll be nervous when he meets new people but he’ll warm up once he gets used to you. He loves to lay out with his paws up or hide in a box or closet.

Story
Happy to meet you! My name is Merlin.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Honestly&#44 my life has been a little rough up until now. I was attacked by another kitty in one of my previous homes&#44 and bounced around from place to place searching for that perfect fit. Though Iandamp;#39;m a little scared&#44 all the nice people at Great Plains SPCA have told me that Iandamp;#39;ll be okay.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Iandamp;#39;m slowly adjusting to my surroundings at the shelter&#44 so we may have to take our first introduction slowly. But once weandamp;#39;re best friends&#44 youandamp;#39;ll have a loyal friend whoandamp;#39;s an excellent listener. Iandamp;#39;ve met a few other cats here&#44 and Iandamp;#39;ve realized that not all of them are so mean. Maybe with a quiet home&#44 lots of love and a patient family&#44 I could try and make it work with another kitty.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Are you my person? I would love to meet you&#44 and see if weandamp;#39;re the perfect match.

Story
Billy is a beautiful boy that I met when I started taking care of a community colony in KCK. He soon befriended me, a human! I realized he was much more friendly, than I had expected. When I began nurturing the friendship, he was very reclusive. We have been working towards bringing him into a better life since. He is still on the journey to becoming a wonderful house kitty, but at 6 years old, he is only just seeing the beginnings of what a lovely life he will have. He loves pets more than anything and head bumps are his specialty. Sitting on his perch, and observing the indoor world, is a newly acquired pastime that has become a comfortable way for Billy to understand his new beginning. Billy will need a patient home where someone understands his past life, but he is so excited to become a loving part of a family. He gets along with cats, Great Danes and loves women in particular.

Story
Snowball came into rescue almost 2 years ago. She was an older kitten, but super sick. Her foster home was asked to treat her for her upper respiratory infection, so that she could then be released back to her colony outside. Snowball was a feral kitten that was TNR'd (Trapped, fixed and to be returned). She wears a badge of honor for her life as a feral kitty. She has a tipped ear, which indicates to humans that she has been fixed. Her foster mom treated her infection only to find out that Snowball is deaf, or mostly deaf. Snowball's deafness makes her fearful, which confirmed to Snowball's foster mom, that she could not be released back to her colony. Her survival in the outdoor would be full of perils. Snowball loves the other kitties that have come and gone in her foster room. She needs a home with humans that understand that she will come to them in her own time. . Snowball loves churu treat, and she likes being petted when foster mom scoops her up! If Snowball could find a cat savvy home, maybe someone that has had a deaf kitty, that would be ideal. A home with another chill kitty that could guide her and head bump with her would also be great! Snowball is ready for the next phase in her life . Are you her match?

Story
Chloe needs time to warm up at her own pace, but once she is comfortable in her environment she is the sweetest thing and very curious. She loves a warm lap to curl up on and getting her neck and cheeks scratched. She is the softest thing ever!! She is fine being by herself but loves to have a person around! She loves looking out the window and watching the squirrels and birds. She would be best in a home without young children but is good with older children and adults. Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time! All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays.
