Ten years ago, Elum was born from a barn cat on a remote Missouri farm. In a litter of four, he was the only longhair and the only non-tabby. Though he was a goofy looking kitten, he grew into the gloriously handsome giant he is today. He's always been a bit of a lazy fellow, and enjoys looking beautiful by the window or curling up alongside a human he trusts. He takes a little time to warm up, but once he has, his affection is boundless, yet gentle. He's as low maintenance as can be, and excels in quiet environments. While dearly loved by his longtime guardians for his sweet disposition toward them, Elum's less-than-loving nature with the other cats he shares his home with has been an ongoing issue. It is due to these reasons that he is looking to be rehomed somewhere where he can be an only cat like he's always wanted.

He has been her protector and her friend. Louie LOVES laying on his back and showing his belly, he doesn't even mind belly rubs. He can be found lounging or hanging out with Lucy or his human. Louie also loves dinner time and treats! Give them a chance and you will have faithful companions!! Louie has tested positive for FIV. Because of their special bond we would hope he can go home with his special female companion Lucy. Louie does NOT do well with dogs. Louie does not actually do well with any other cats except Lucy!  Lucy is special! She doesn't mind being in the same room as humans, even sleeping at the foot of the bed or watching TV with humans, and recently started to enjoy being pet. She now gives mile high elevator butt when you pet down her back. She especially loves chin scratches and when she feels safe, will show her belly, but any pets have to be on her terms.  Louie makes up for it with all of his affection. This is a pair that will be bring joy to your home as they can be quite entertaining as they play together and lounge together. Lucy will chirp for Louie if he gets to far out of her sight.  Cats with FIV often have similar life spans to cats without it. Studies conducted in 2010 and 2022 found that an FIV diagnosis wasn't associated with decreased lifespans. In fact, cats can remain asymptomatic for years or even their entire lives! Although FIV isn't easily transmitted between cats (only through deep bites and not via sharing food and other normal interaction), the risk means that an FIV positive cat may do best going into a single-cat household or a household with other FIV positive cats.   Approximate Birthday: 02/15/2020 Adoption Fee: $ 75.00 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, FIV/FeLV test, and deworming. Meet Max 💙 Max is a fluffy, long-haired kitten with truly striking coloring—his back is a sleek, solid black, while his underside is a beautiful mix of gray and white with bold black stripes. He’s as eye-catching as he is lovable. Though Max was separated from his siblings a bit too early, he’s found comfort, confidence, and family in his foster home—especially with his best friend, Jelly Roll. Jelly Roll is a 6-month-old kitten who has proudly taken on the role of big brother, and their bond is something truly special. Max plays the part of the typical younger brother perfectly. He’s playful, curious, and full of kitten energy, often starting games by pouncing or tackling Jelly Roll with enthusiasm. Jelly Roll patiently looks after Max and can often be found with an arm draped around him or gently grooming him after playtime. Shredder is one handsome boy. He does really well with all of his cat friends. This sweet cat is semi-feral has been with ABF for an extended period. While some progress has been made, there is still wariness of human contact and he will tend to avoid interaction. This cat has never been exposed to outdoor elements or hunting, so would not be suitable as a barn cat. He is used to living in an air conditioned and heated building with other cats in a very clean room that has lots of windows and is excellent at using the litter box. We would love for him to have a home of his own where he could continue to thrive. Shredder with his long orange mane looks like a miniature lion. He loves a good snuggle with his cat friends, especially his best friend Igor.

Ash was a stray cat outside that was very trusting of people. She had a litter of kittens while in our care due to the fact that she got pregnant before we took her in. Her kittens are all independent now, and unfortunately Ash just does not get along with our other cats. However, she is a love bug and loves to play! She is also a beggar and loves to beg for food with her big ol' bug eyes.
