Story
This new friend has just arrived! They have come to us either as a transfer from another shelter, being found as a stray, or have been surrendered to us by their owner. When our friends are new to us, we are typically unsure of their full background, litter box habits, comfort with handling, or experience with other pets or children. Our staff will spend some time reviewing any information provided by previous owners and spend some time with our new friend so that we can better update their biography. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
ABOUT DOMINO Domino is a gorgeous 5-year-old black and white kitty who came to HAP after her previous owner could no longer care for her. She’s a delightful mix of sweet and sassy, think “sweet and sour,” but in the most charming feline way! At first, Domino may be a little shy or play it cool, but once she gets to know you, she reveals her affectionate, cuddly side. Just remember, this queen knows her worth and isn’t afraid to set a royal boundary or two. Domino is also quite the chatterbox! She has an impressive range of meows to share her thoughts, whether she’s asking for treats or simply narrating her day. She loves making biscuits, playing with her favorite feather toys, and lounging like the regal kitty she is. Domino would thrive in a calm home with older children who can respect her pace and give her space when she needs it. She’s ready to bring love, laughter, and a touch of cat-titude to a family who will give her the cozy kingdom she deserves! Story
We prefer adopters to be within 1 hour driving distance from Delaware 19703 and to have a vet reference. Holly started her life on the streets of Chester PA. Holly is a timid, sweet and beautiful girl, possibly some Maine Coon genes. Holly’s story: Holly and her brother had a feeder. At the age of 4 months the feeder knew something had to be done. So we received the call and the plan was to get them/ trap them and go from there. They turned out not to be feral, but scared. The feeder wanted the female (Holly) back after spayed and vetted, and she planned to keep her inside. The male stayed in foster care after being neutered and vetted, he was adopted. A year later we received a call that Holly needed to be picked up, they could no longer care for her. We were told Holly wasn’t too social and had gotten outside a few times. We picked up Holly and Holly isn’t a happy girl:( We set Holly up in a large crate in hopes that in a few days she would be somewhat adjusted. We wanted to take her to the vet to get checked out and combo tested again. That took about a month or so and the little bit of progress that was made with Holly, vanished and she was very upset at foster mom and again not trusting her. Her fecal was checked a couple of times because it wasn’t a healthy looking fecal, results came back negative. Then a few weeks ago Holly looked like she didn’t feel well and she didn’t eat her food from the night before. Foster mom had to use a towel to get her out of her crate and Holly wasn’t happy about this one bit. Holly went into foster moms bedroom and her needs were set up in there. She was eating and drinking a little bit and was hiding from foster mom. We made a vet appointment and it was 3 days away. She was eating and drinking and pottying so it really wasn’t an emergency. By the day the vet appointment came, Holly and foster mom were friends. Holly really was doing so much better and even had normal looking stools. We still went to the vet and her diagnosis was stress. We were glad it wasn’t more, but this broke our hearts. The vet was loving on her. Foster mom told the vet Holly started coming out of her armored shell in just the last couple of days while confined to the bedroom. Our vet said she is a very timid girl and full of uncertainty. He suggests a quiet home and Holly be the only fur kid in the home, and we can’t agree more. Holly has been so content being in the bedroom. Once adopted she may need to start out in a small space again. Holly is a precious kitty that will give you the hardest head-boop, foster mom calls these Holly’s head-bangs. Her fur is so soft. She will allow you to brush her once she is comfortable. We have been trying to get her to engage in playing with toys, but she can still be startled by things. We have tried unsuccessfully to get her to go near a scratch pad, so it sits there so she can realize it’s not going to hurt her. Her favorite past time is kneading a soft blanket. If you are looking for a fuzzy butt friend, Holly might just be the one! She had her vaccines updated and combo tested negative, and is also spayed and microchipped. Email us to request an application AOLanimalrescue@gmail.com if you are interested in meeting Holly and offer her a loving home.

Story
Belle was surrendered to Faithful Friends when her owners suffered illnesses that left them unable to care for her properly. Unfortunately, when Belle arrived she was diagnosed with Diabetes and would require specific care and treatment. Belle is now on a brand new prescription for diabetics which involves an oral pill rather than the typical injections! She is doing well, adjusting to the shelter, and enjoys the company of our staff, and has even become a staff favorite. She takes her meds in her food with no issues and is now stable! This pretty pretty princess is 6 years old, and she is hoping to find her forever family soon. November 4, 2024, 12:42 pm
