Story
Meet Minnie! This sweetheart is a beautiful long-haired girl who spent most of her life on the streets before befriending a kind neighbor who quickly realized this social butterfly yearned to be indoors, surrounded by people and love. Minnie is about 4 years old and a petite 8 pounds. She adores being petted, happily follows her people around the house, and loves relaxing in her cat tree while watching the world go by through the window. In her foster home, Minnie lives with a small dog and does great—she also previously shared her outdoor space with a large dog while she was living outside and handled that beautifully too. She’s just discovering cat toys and learning how to play, which is incredibly sweet to watch. While Minnie currently lives in a home with two very small (and energetic!) human children, she prefers to relax quietly in her own room during their playtime. She has never shown any aggression and simply enjoys having a calm space of her own. Minnie was a devoted mother, lovingly raising her daughter (and grandkittens) while living outdoors. All of her babies are now in their forever homes, and it’s finally Minnie’s turn to be someone’s cherished companion. 💛 Born 12/10/2021 If you are interested in meeting me, please contact my rescue family at MeowtownAR@gmail.com to arrange a visit with my foster home!

Story
This energetic young lady has the confidence of a cougar in the body of a sentient fluffball. Give her a few days to settle in, and (after some passionate yet ineffective spitting/hissing) she will initiate play and settle in for cuddles like an old pro. Pfaffentha is the boss of her littermate brother and doesn't back down from her big foster brother. She tolerates resident 3yo calico female but prefers the company of male cats.  Born 9/29/2025 Pfaffenthal and her brother Hamilius were found in Aledo and were at risk of not surviving, when this foster mom came to their rescue and nursed them to health! This kitten has not been neutered yet, but is available as Foster2Adopt. You adopt and take the kitten home with you, and we pay for and arrange for neuter later. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact my rescue family at MeowtownAR@gmail.com to arrange a visit with my foster home!

Story
“Mama Lee-Lee,” was named during the excitement of the 2024 Paris Olympics. She carries the torch for her namesake, USA foil fencing Olympic champion, Lee Kiefer. Kiefer, a University of Kentucky med student, is lightning quick in her sport where she won gold with determined, pointed accuracy. Mama Lee-Lee had her kittens outside where she had to revert to her instincts to keep them safe and alive. She was trapped and brought inside where her med student saviors began to socialize the fluffy felines. Mama was never aggressive, but she was lightning quick to remind the humans that she set boundaries with her claws, which, unlike her namesake’s fencing foil, were very sharp. As her babies weaned and learned to love and trust humans, mama did, too. She loves to play with the jingle toy on a stick and to have her silky fur petted. She will make biscuits when spoken to sweetly and has made ‘winky eyes’ to her caregivers from her first days with them. She really LOVES her offspring and they love her. She is bonded to last remaining kitten Suni Extraordinaire and they must be adopted together. Lee-Lee has a distrust of dogs from her time outside. Born 3/1/2024 estimated by vet Lee-Lee,” a small, smart, long-haired tuxedo kitty found refuge for her three kittens in the parking garage at the UNT Health Science Center. The kittens were taught that safety from predators, cars, (and humans who came too close) was a quick scurry into the undercarriage of the electric carts plugged in on the first floor. A cat mom who had adopted her first fur baby from Meowtown was leaving the gym at the Texas Health Science Center one evening. She had just graduated and was soon to leave to begin her residency in another state. Walking to her car, she spotted the little family in the parking garage. That feline family won the lottery that night as that med student and her med student friends made it their mission to get them safe and cared for.
