Story
“Mama Lee-Lee,” was named during the excitement of the 2024 Paris Olympics. She carries the torch for her namesake, USA foil fencing Olympic champion, Lee Kiefer. Kiefer, a University of Kentucky med student, is lightning quick in her sport where she won gold with determined, pointed accuracy. Mama Lee-Lee had her kittens outside where she had to revert to her instincts to keep them safe and alive. She was trapped and brought inside where her med student saviors began to socialize the fluffy felines. Mama was never aggressive, but she was lightning quick to remind the humans that she set boundaries with her claws, which, unlike her namesake’s fencing foil, were very sharp. As her babies weaned and learned to love and trust humans, mama did, too. She loves to play with the jingle toy on a stick and to have her silky fur petted. She will make biscuits when spoken to sweetly and has made ‘winky eyes’ to her caregivers from her first days with them. She really LOVES her offspring and they love her. She is bonded to last remaining kitten Suni Extraordinaire and they must be adopted together. Lee-Lee has a distrust of dogs from her time outside. Born 3/1/2024 estimated by vet Lee-Lee,” a small, smart, long-haired tuxedo kitty found refuge for her three kittens in the parking garage at the UNT Health Science Center. The kittens were taught that safety from predators, cars, (and humans who came too close) was a quick scurry into the undercarriage of the electric carts plugged in on the first floor. A cat mom who had adopted her first fur baby from Meowtown was leaving the gym at the Texas Health Science Center one evening. She had just graduated and was soon to leave to begin her residency in another state. Walking to her car, she spotted the little family in the parking garage. That feline family won the lottery that night as that med student and her med student friends made it their mission to get them safe and cared for. Not good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Declawed, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
We adopted Lollie in 2018 from HSNT and we were told she was about 1 year old. She was extremely shy and scared of people but eventually learned to trust us. She greets us at the door after work, begs for a treat at dinner time, and is extremely food motivated. She likes to be pet (within reason!) and will occasionally sit by us on the couch or beside us on our chair but doesn't like to be picked up or held. We got a puppy in June 2025 and soon learned Lollie is too laid back for dogs. Our puppy constantly chases and barks at her and she can no longer hang out in the main room with us. They are always flighting if she is in the same room. She deserves a home where she can relax and seek attention when she needs it without being chased away. She is declawed and doesn’t require much attention, so she is perfect for an older couple/ person who wants companionship but doesn’t want a cat always in their lap. We feed her Science Hill I/D food mainly because of hairballs.

Story
Meet Bear 🐾 Bear is a gentle, quiet soul who has been steadily blossoming into a loving house cat. Around 2 years old, he has spent the past few months adjusting to the comforts of indoor life — and he’s truly coming into his own. While Bear is still shy and prefers the calm presence of his foster mom, he’s made amazing progress. Each day, he grows a little braver, a little more curious, and a little more trusting. He’s learning that people can be kind, safe, and even the source of delicious treats. Playtime is one of Bear’s favorite parts of the day — wand toys and chase games bring out his silly, kittenish side. He’s also a total snack enthusiast, and mealtime is his love language. With a little patience (and a few treats), you’ll find yourself winning him over bit by bit. One of the most special things about Bear? He loves other cats. He thrives in the company of feline friends, whether they’re affectionate or more reserved — he’s the kind of cat who just wants to belong. Bear would do best in a home that: Has at least one other cat (friendly or aloof — Bear doesn’t mind) Is quiet and adult-only or has calm older teens Understands that trust takes time, and love is earned slowly but deeply If you’re someone who finds joy in watching a shy cat find his confidence, and you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion with a heart full of potential, Bear may be the perfect addition to your home.

Story
Meet Poppie – A Wobbly Wonder with a Big Personality Poppie is a gorgeous brown tabby, medium-haired young adult with an infectious zest for life. She has cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), which makes her a bit wobbly, but don’t tell her that. Poppie gets around just fine, has no idea she’s any different, and truly lives life as the life of the party. She does very well with a high-sided litter box and has excellent manners. Poppie is social, friendly, and loves being involved in whatever her people are doing. She’s a big fan of cuddling and will happily shower you with affection, including her signature little love bites to let you know just how much she cares. Poppie is not a fan of other cats, but she does very well with polite, respectful dogs and would be a great fit for a home with older kids. Fully vetted and full of personality, Poppie is a special girl who has so much love to give. She’s beautiful inside and out and truly deserves a chance at a wonderful, loving life.
