Story
✨Mercury: the smallest, steadfast planet in our solar system, as well as the swiftest among the Roman Gods - an associate of the Underworld. This little spitfire is amongst the sweetest of felines. Found cowering behind a snow shovel on the back porch of a Good Samaritan in Stoughton, Mercury endured a hellish early childhood - separated from his mother, harrowingly avoiding death’s cold grasp in the talons of a bird of prey, and finding himself petrified, starved, and sickly. Through his fostering journey, Mercury began to grow (Mom said the tapeworms cannot rule the ruins) rather quickly, and with it, his personality began to blossom; a uniquely vocal, saucy, sweet handsome devil with a breathtaking coat (a medium haired chocolate color, with slivers of silver/gray tabby markings on his backside). He requires constant praise and affection - despite his playful nature, he can be quite shy in new surroundings, and has a tendency to quicken himself to seek out the smallest areas under the couch and recliner. Patience and perseverance are key. Although he has been around other pups, he has quickly proven he is not fond of them. I do genuinely believe that a pup who has the patience of a saint would be okay (or one that believes that they, too, are felines trapped in the wrong body). Other felines has been a work in progress: he enjoys the company of other cats - especially those who are not aggressive/dominant. His best friend, Stuart (another foster) is his entire world. Mercury is typically found close by Stuart (whether that be snuggling/sleeping, leading Stuart around via chirping, eating, or roughhousing) - thus, finding a home with Stuart is a must. • Favorite toys: glitter balls to carry about, crinkly balls (he shares with Stuart - despite him having very limited vision:blind, Stuart fetches), lasers, wand toys, cardboard to destroy.

Story
Meet Trixie, a wide-eyed beauty looking for a second chance 🤎 She’s one of the cats we rescued from a 98-cat hoarding situation, and understandably, she’s a little shy around people at first. But her sweet personality is already beginning to shine through. Each day, she finds a bit more courage—learning that gentle hands bring comfort, full bowls and soft blankets are hers to rely on, and that her life will never again be defined by scarcity or fear. Now, Trixie is ready to trade uncertainty for a lifetime of snuggles, quiet moments, and the steady reassurance of a patient, loving home. You might be the safe haven she’s been waiting for.

Story
Gronckle and his brother Fireworm were rescued right before the big snow storm hit after Thanksgiving . They spent the next few months not liking the change. They were a bit spicy. All of a sudden (with alot of work) they finally decided they liked humans. They are getting friendlier every day. They still dont like being picked up, but they do love to be pet. If you bend over and reach out your hand they will come to you for pets. They like attention, but mostly on their terms, unless you have treats! The boys aren't bonded but would love to be adopted together.

Story
Dior is a sweet girl with a gentle heart and a quietly confident spirit. She enjoys affection and will happily accept pets and attention, but she also has an independent side and is perfectly content relaxing on her own. Dior doesn’t need constant attention — she simply enjoys being near her people and part of the home. She does well with other cats and would be a wonderful addition to a multi-cat household or as a calm companion to an existing feline friend. If you’re looking for a loving but easygoing cat who offers the perfect balance of companionship and independence, Dior may be your girl. 🐾

Story
Lottie was outside in a colony of cats and one day she walked inside someone’s home. She was eventually transferred to us at Misfit Felines. Lottie is currently a cat who doesn’t want human touch. She enjoys living in a warm house away from the elements but she’s just not ready to be petted. She will get close to you and even lay down nearby, but that’s as far as she wants to go right now. We are continuing to work with her on socialization in hopes that she’ll show us more of the silly personality she displays when she’s alone, but we love her no matter how independent she may choose to remain. If you don’t mind that she may make herself scarce, or if you look forward to the challenge of slowly earning her trust, Lottie is looking for her permanent residence with you.
