Occasionally when we rescue street cats, we find one that appears to be royalty in disguise.  And such was the case with Princess Dasha.  Dasha's mama cat moved her 3 kittens onto a roof to keep them safe, but she did not have enough milk for her kittens, so they were underweight and very fragile.  Once in custody with plenty of food and care the kittens slowly recovered and each began to show their own distinct personality.  Dasha is calendar-cat beautiful, a rare orange and white female. (Did you know that most orange cats are male?) While she loves to play like a kitten, she can be a bit reserved around new people, as befits royalty.  But once you have earned her trust (which does not take long) she will shower you with purrs, affection, and invitations to play. Dasha loves to nap in your lap or next to you, and is extremely huggable, with a soft almost-medium length coat.  To this Princess, the lap of luxury means YOUR lap. Blackberry is a sweet little kitten well on her way to becoming a lap cat—she loves being held and purrs the moment she’s in your arms. She’s a snuggler who enjoys curling up for naps with a companion and often chooses playful wrestling over traditional toys. Blackberry likes eating side-by-side with a friend and stays quiet until a human enters the room—then she bursts into nonstop play. She adores chasing dangly wand toys, though balls aren’t really her thing. Big, loud movements can make her hide at first, but a gentle voice helps her feel safe, and she’ll happily come out for affection and fun.

Beckham is a sweet kitten who is shy at first but warms up quickly once he knows he can trust you. He loves to explore, climbing under, over, and through things to find his perfect resting spot tucked in the bookshelf, under a bench, behind a curtain, or snuggle under the bedspread. He loves to play, and when playtime is done, is happy to curl up in your lap for purring, pets and nap time.Beckham’s foster family has shared with us that after some evening zoomies, Beckham comes onto the bed to snuggle under my chin or tucked under the blankets next to me.

Since being rescued her personality has really been 'blossoming' and her foster home reports she is enjoying all the love and attention she is getting. We think because of her temperament she would do fine with a cat savvy dog and older children. She can be a little picky about what cats she likes but if the introductions are done slow and steady we think she would be fine with another young cat in the home. She would love toys, a soft bed of her own, a cat tree and lots of yummy treats in her new home.
