Story
Meet Raven! This little guy came to Dakin looking for his next home. Since he came to us as a stray we cannot tell you too much about his previous life experience. Here at the shelter, Raven has been very social and friendly with everyone he meets! He comes right up to the cage to say hello and ask for pets and attention by rubbing his cheeks on your hand. He should fit well into any home with a slow introduction to other animals in the house. Come meet Raven today and see if he is the right match for you! If you're ready to adopt within the next 24-48 hours and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways: Come in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30p-3:00p. For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt! **OR** Click on the pink "Adopt me" button to submit an adoption inquiry. Watch your email for a response from us! Adopting through this process will take several days and highly desirable pets are likely to no longer be available. PLEASE NOTE: Adoption inquiries are not holds or reservations. Pets are adopted by the first person we talk with who is a good match for the pet's needs. Multiple inquiries are accepted for each pet. All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.

Story
Meet Star! Star came to Dakin with her mom Sadie looking for their next adventure! Star's previous owners describe her as very friendly, affectionate, active, and a lap cat! She loves cat nip toys the best and when she's not playing, she's loving up on her people looking for pets. She has done well with kids in her previous home but was a bit shy when it came to the toddler. Star does great with other cats in the home and would be a good choice if you are looking for a friend for your kitty. Star has also lived with two dogs and done good in her past. Come meet Star today and see if she is the perfect match for your family! Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully. ******* In a TJO foster. Please call TJO and you will be connected with her fosterFriski is a truly wonderful cat. She's a beautiful, quirky 5 year old girl looking for an experienced cat owner to be her forever person. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s friendly, chatty, playful, and loves to rub on your legs to show her affection. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll also toss herself on the floor in front of you and look adorable with her little white belly showing. The quirk is that Friski is very sensitive to touch, and only wants a few pets or chin rubs before she becomes over-stimulated. She needs someone in tune with her, who can read her body language and respects her boundaries while enjoying her love and companionship. She loves to `hunt` her wand toys, and daily play helps her release some of her nervous energy.Friski would do best as an only pet, as she isn't fond of other cats or dogs. She'd be happiest in an an adult only home as she likes things quiet and predictable. If you want to greeted at the door with a chatty kitty who runs to see you, but don't need a lap cat, please reach out about this adorable girl.OTHER PETS: Should be Only PetOWNER EXPERIENCE:Experience with kitties who become over=stimulatedKIDS:Adults onlyACTIVITY LEVEL:Couch Potato PlayfulVETERINARY CARE: RoutineLEVEL OF SOCIALIZATION:ModerateGROOMING:MinimalMay 21, 2024, 6:06 pm
