Story
This sweet cat is semi-feral has been with ABF for an extended period.  While some progress has been made, there is still wariness of human contact and she will tend to avoid interaction.  This cat has never been exposed to outdoor elements or hunting, so would not be suitable as a barn cat. She is used to living in an air conditioned and heated building with other cats in a very clean room that has lots of windows and is excellent at using the litter box. We would love for her to have a home of his own where she could continue to thrive.

Story
Special Needs-Clover is a playful little gal. She loves pouncing. Clover needs a loving home. She came to us on July 27, 2025 as a stray. She was a cute, tiny bundle of tabby/white fur. We had her tested for feline leukemia/FIV and all of her vaccinations were done. We had her spayed a few weeks later. Clover did great with our cat, Abby, who happens to have her own room. Abby is the queen of her castle and doesn't care for other cats, but does well with kittens. Clover and Abby are a match made in heaven. One of our volunteers noticed a swivel and stumble in Clovers walk. We waited until she was a little older to have x-rays done. Multiple radiographs of her back, hips, hind legs and neck were done. Dr. Schrock at Three Trails believes this is a congenital defect or neurologic deficit, causing the ataxia/ wobbly gait. Clover is in no pain and seems to be growing normally otherwise. Dr. Schrock believes Clover will make a great pet for someone, but will have persistent ataxia and weakness. He feels this should not affect Clover's quality of life. Please consider Clover into your heart and home!

Story
Willow is a sweet, playful, and affectionate cat who loves to cuddle and be around people. She is great with kids, enjoys playing, and does well with dogs she is comfortable with. Willow is an indoor/outdoor cat with a curious personality and a funny habit of chewing on tape. Willow does have a an issue with urinating outside the litter box. She does this on the baby’s things. She has been evaluated by veterinarians with no medical cause found, and we have tried multiple solutions without success. Because we now have a baby in the home, we are no longer able to safely manage this issue. This has been a very difficult decision, as Willow is otherwise a wonderful cat. We hope to find her a patient, understanding home that can meet her needs and give her the love she deserves.

Story
Royal is a stunning black cat with soft, medium-length fur and striking golden eyes that gleam like jewels. At about 2.5 years old, he’s a quiet soul who takes his time getting to know people. He’s very shy at first and will need a calm, understanding home where he can settle in at his own pace. Royal isn’t the kind of cat who will greet you at the door on day one—but given time, space, and patience, he may slowly begin to show you his gentle heart. If you’re someone who respects a cat’s boundaries and believes in letting trust grow naturally, Royal just might be your perfect match. He’s waiting for a safe, loving place to call his own. Could that be with you? Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 if you'd like more info on Royal. He's in the Kansas City metro, but transport is available.

Story
COURTESY POST Bean, a handsome tuxedo boy of about five months old, is quite the distinguished character. He loves getting attention and pets from his people, and will gently slap you with his "closed paw" (claws safely retracted) if you fail to give him the attention he deserves. Bean and his brothers, Mars and Mercury, all play well together, so if you're looking for a kitten or two or three, great! We can send more than one home with you! They aren't bonded, though, and each will do great in a home of their own as long as they get plenty of attention from their people and plenty of exercise, too. Why plenty of exercise, you ask? Well, all three of the boys are players! They run through kitty tubes, chase each other through rooms, climb just about anything, throw their floppy fish around with abandon, and pounce on anything that moves on its own. They are adorable and so much fun! Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 if you're interested in learning more about tuxedo Bean, cinnamon Mars, or silver Mercury. They're in the Kansas City metro, but transport might be available to the right home.
