Story
Mafee might be a little rough around the edges, but he's ready for the good life now. Mafee needs a foster (or foster to adopt) home while he recovers from being beat to smithereens by other cats. He's a big boy, but that didn't help him at all while he was trying to survive on the streets of Kansas City, that's for sure. Our boy's a lover, not a fighter! One of our wonderful trainers heard Mafee's cries for help and saved him. Now he's been checked out out by a vet, neutered, and is ready to go to a home. He's super sweet, gentle, and very regal! Mafee is a fan of food, especially the wet stuff, and appreciates soft pets and quiet talks. He's going to be a love bug, for sure. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information if you'd like to give Mafee a temporary or permanent home. He's hanging out in the KC metro. #thepetconnection

Story
This adorable old man is Homie. Homie was adopted just a few months ago from a shelter in the Kansas City metro. He thought he'd found his second chance at a forever home. You see, for the first 14 years of his life, Homie lived with one person, but his person died and the family brought Homie and his younger kitty sibling to the shelter. The younger kitty was, of course, adopted quickly. Homie waited and waited for his chance. He's been in his new home for just about four months now and his new person has decided she doesn't want to be bothered with a cat anymore. It doesn't have anything to do with Homie, mind you, because Homie's pretty much the perfect kitty. But done she is, so sweet Homie is looking yet again and we're going to help him find the perfect home with people who know how to keep a promise to their Homie. Homie is what you might call "chonky." He weighs nearly 20 pounds, and isn't necessarily the most active kitty on the planet. In fact, Homie is lazy (doesn’t even like toys!), well behaved, and such a cuddle bug once he gets to know and trust you. He’s not a fan of super loud noises or strangers but a total lover boy otherwise. Homie really enjoys it when you talk to him. He drinks out of a water fountain, which will go with him to his new home, as will plenty of his senior cat food. According to the shelter, this boy has nothing wrong with him. His only grooming needs are regular brushing and nail clipping, which he handles just fine. He has all of his claws but doesn't scratch on furniture. He faithfully uses his litterbox, too! See? Perfection! If you're looking for a senior kitty with so much love to give, who will snuggle and nap and keep you company, call or text The Pet Connection and ask about Homie. 913-671-7387. He's in the KC metro, but transport is available to the right home! #thepetconnection

Story
We adopted Evie from an animal shelter as a kitten when we lived in TN. She is a 12yr old female, declawed in the front, spayed, and up to date on all shots. She is very healthy, strictly an inside cat and she is very sweet and lovable. She gives great hugs with loud purrs in the mornings and snuggles with us at bedtime. For her age she still acts like a kitten by chasing her tail and playing chase with our little Jack Russell, and she enjoys "helping" us work out. She prefers a quieter environment of no young children or other animals, although she has tolerated very well the 10 foster puppies we have had in our home over the years. And she is co-habitating quite well with our small dog. She does go into hiding when there are young children around. She enjoys snuggling up on your lap, especially if there is a blanket involved, and loves sleeping in the dog bed in front of the window. If there is a spot of sun hitting the floor, she will find it and enjoy a warm nap. She is a sweet member of our family that we will miss.

Story
Lotus is a very I exist over here and you exist over there kinda cat, but once a day or every other day she’ll come give you the biggest cash in you’ve ever seen. She isn’t the most talkative cat out there but she sure isn’t afraid to tell you she’s hungry or thirsty or even when she wants to play. I like to think she’s looking for a home where she can be queen bee and get all of the love and attention she deserves.

Story
Marley has been a great pet. She is a beautiful and loving cat. She got along very well with two of our former dogs, but now we have a one-year-old Golden Retriever that is making her life miserable. She hides, and is pretty grumpy. Additionally, my husband and son are allergic, and have been tolerant for 6 years but are growing more and more uncomfortable with their allergies. And, we have starting traveling quite a bit more and Marley is even more sad. Because of the puppy and our travel schedule, she has started peeing on the basement carpet. She also has an odd and sporadic behavior of rubbing up against your leg, wanting to be pet, then without warning deciding to give one quick bite - not strong enough to break the skin, but startling and annoying. We love Marley very much, and she does love to sit in your lap and be pet (even purrs and drools a little), and my hope is that if she could find a home where she would get more attention, she would be much happier and kinder.
