Story
Meet Pumpkin! Pumpkin is a medium haired orange & white tabby. She is approximately 2 years old. Pumpkin was found hanging around a fast food restaurant where people were feeding her. A kind employee took her in and contacted us for help. Pumpkin is a very sweet cuddly girl. She loves her foster family and is good with the dogs in the home. She is not a fan of other cats. She loves to play and loves her toys. Pumpkin would do best as an only cat in a home with cat friendly dogs. She has not been proven with children but would likely enjoy children over the age of reason that are respectful & willing to play with her. Pumpkin has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for FIV/FELV. If you and your puppies have room in your heart & your home for this sweet girl, contact us here, email heartstohomesfelines@gmail.com or fill out an application at www.heartstohomes.ca. The adoption fee is $250.

Story
Meet Mirabel - she is a stunning 2.5 year old Torbie. Her nicknames are Princess and Posh Spice. There is an air of elegance about her yet she's an absolute sweetheart. She has the cutest paws with long hair poking out between her toes. She always greets her foster parents with chirps, quacks and meows. She loves to play, enjoying wands, cat nip toys and bouncy sponge balls. She meows to let her foster Mom know when she wants to play with her Slim Cat ball with a few treats inside. Her favourite time to play is at bedtime after she has had a few kibble snacks. A short time later, she jumps on to her foster parents' bed where she sleeps every night. She likes to lie on her foster Mom for pets every morning and makes biscuits when she's ready for her breakfast. She loves to be brushed and is 100% a lap kitty. When her foster Mom sits on the floor, Mirabel immediately crawls on to her lap. She has the softest hair and doesn't shed like short haired cats. She isn't a fan of being picked up and held but her foster parents are working on that. Her foster parents had visitors stay with them and Mirabel was not shy. She enjoyed having the extra attention with more pets and love. She would be a wonderful companion for someone who spends time at home. She would be fine with older children and another gentle cat. Mirabel is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and vet checked. She is in good health but tested positive for FIV. There are no special requirements/needs for an FIV positive cat - like other cats, they should just get their regular vet check ups/vaccines. We will guaranty her health relative to the FIV for 2 years. Please refer below for more information on FIV. The adoption fee is $250. FIV is a feline-only virus that cannot be transmitted to people or other animal species and it is very difficult to pass to other cats - it is only passed between cats through a deep bite wound – deep enough to inject saliva into the bloodstream of the other cat – commonly occurring in outdoor cats who fight for territory. Cats 'cannot' pass the virus to other cats through casual contact like sharing food bowls or litter boxes or through playing, wrestling or licking/cleaning each other. Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine conducted a long-term study in cat shelters and found that FIV-positive cats can live with FIV-negative cats and not infect the FIV-negative cats during normal day-to-day interaction. Studies over the last 10 years have also shown that cats with FIV often live as long as otherwise healthy cats that do not have this virus. Story
Baja Blast is a domestic medium hair black male who is 4 months old. He is brother to Schweppes, and Crush. Baja Blast came to DRK from an outdoor colony with his siblings. We are so happy they were caught just in time before the weather began to turn super cold. These kittens are on the shy side, still adjusting to indoor sounds such as the tv, dishwasher, and vacuum. They are quite sweet and quick to purr and are adjusting to the good life quickly! They love to play with each other, but their favourite toy when not chasing one another is any ball track toys! Watching the ball spin round and round and trying to make it speed even faster is mesmerizing for these siblings. If you're looking for a pair of kittens or a single kitten as a playmate to your young cat or dog, you can't go wrong with our fizzy fizzy pop pop kittens! Baja Blast is neutered, microchipped and is vaccinated for FVRCP. He will need his rabies vaccine when age appropriate which will be the responsibility of his adopters. His adoption fee is $300 or $550 as a pair with a sibling. To apply, please submit an adoption application.
