COURTESY POSTING - Mission Meow makes no guarantees regarding the vetting, health or temperament of this cat, however you are welcome to contact us to ask any questions. Occasionally we assist member of the community with cats they have found. If you fill out an application, we can help assist you find a purrfect fit for your family, even if we refer you to outside of our rescue. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hello neighbors! I’m looking for the perfect home for my handsome orange tabby, sincerely named Old Kitty. Old Kitty was named Caramello by his previous owners, whom I rescued him from, but we call him Old Kitty because he is a distinguished senior guy. Old Kitty is approximately 12 years old and he is literally the sweetest cat I have ever met. He could sit on my lap for hours to cuddle if I let him. He’s so relaxed, and will come up to anyone to be pet. He doesn’t bite, scratch, or get skittish. Old Kitty is currently living outdoors and needs a home where he will be an indoor only cat. Being a senior man, Old Kitty would love the opportunity to live out his golden years in a nice quiet senior community, as an indoor kitty. Or alternatively, in a quiet home with someone that is home a lot and can give him the attention that he enjoys and where he can be a great companion kitty. Old Kitty has FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and would need to be an indoor only cat, or have supervised access to a backyard where he can’t roam off or get in fights with neighborhood cats. A catio is a wonderful option for indoor cats to be able to spend some time outdoors in a safe environment. Cats with FIV can live a relatively normal life. Because FIV compromises their immune system, cats with FIV are more susceptible and vulnerable to other diseases. Cats with FIV can live with cats that don’t have FIV as long as the cats live together peacefully. FIV is transmitted to other cats when the saliva of an infected cat enters the bloodstream of another cat, through deep bite wounds. FIV is a feline specific virus and cannot be spread to humans. Although Old Kitty would probably do just fine in a home with another senior cat, the perfect home would be one where he is the only pet so he can get as much attention as he wants. Old Kitty definitely deserves all of the attention and love that a family can provide. Trust me when I say that if we were able to keep this awesome cat we would. Our three indoor cats would not tolerate having another male cat join them. Since that arrangement is already strained by one cat bullying another cat we don’t want to add any additional stress to the mix. That would not be a good environment for any of the cats. We are moving out of the area soon, which is one of the reasons Old Kitty isn’t able to stay where he is. Another reason is that he gets beat up my other neighborhood cats, and we want that to stop. If you would like to hear more wonderful things about Old Kitty, and think that you could offer him the perfect home, please reach out to me. I look forward to finding Old Kitty a wonderful family to spend the rest of his life with. Old Kitty is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccines. Kayla (916-532-2443)

Story
I rescued my two kitties while in college and was never planning on moving home however some things changed and I had to. Unfortunately our one dog has too high of a prey drive and has been unable to get used to the cats over the year and a half period. They are 5 years old and the best boys! The sit really well for nail trimmings, they have never bitten or scratched me, and they love to cuddle. Apollo is a very curious outgoing cat while Calcifer is more reserved but has a funny personality when he finally gets comfortable and comes out of his shell. They would probably prefer a dog free home however they are okay with our other dog so if you do have a dog, a relaxed docile one would be ideal. They are a bonded pair and would need to go together and they don’t love to spend a ton of time alone so they would be perfect for someone who works from home or has a large enough family that at least one person would be home.

Story
Meet Fig! Fig may be a particular girl, however when she gets to know you, her personality really shines! The way to Figs heart? FOOD! She is a simple girl that loves a good snack, a cheek scratch and a long nap. Due to her timid nature, Fig would do best in a quieter home with teenaged or older children. She enjoys having another cat buddy, so she would likely do well with other resident cats with a slow introduction. Fig is FIV+, so she is required to be an indoor kitty for the rest of her life.Adoption Fee: WaivedMonthly Promotion Applies
