Story
Delilah was trapped in a feral colony and she was a very feral kitten when she came to us. Unfortunately, she has retained a lot of her feral qualities. She enjoys sitting on the cat trees and looking outside but she doesn't like to be touched. She is not aggressive and will warn you if you get too close. She does get along with the other cats. As we make a committment to all the kitties we take in, she will always have a home with us but she would appreciate having a home of her own. Maybe she just hasn't met her hooman yet.

Story
DOB 2/23/21 estimate. Grasshopper was truly a feral kitten when we got her. She was hissy/spitty but didn't know what to do when that didn't scare me away. Since then, she has become such a sweet little girl. She is always the first one to come running when I enter the room and she is quick to purr to let me know she is happy to see me. She loves to be help and pet. She loves to explore and gets along with the other kitties. She doesn't like to be alone so she would need to be with another sweet cat.

Story
Angie has been returned to us through no fault of her own. She misses having a family to love her and a home to call her own. Her poor little heart is broken and she would really like to have a new family that will love her and help mend her broken heart. She would like to be an only cat but she will probably be okay with another sweet cat. If you have room in your heart and your home for this sweet girl please complete the adoption application so we can make arrangements for you to meet. A little background: Angie was found in the middle of Hwy 120 in Grayson during a torrential downpour. She was soaking wet and scared. Cars were swerving around her to avoid hitting her. A nice lady scooped her up and took her to the nearest shop which just happened to be owned by a BackStreet Kittens foster mom! We estimated that we was about 5 weeks old at the time. She went to foster care and then was adopted in Feb 2021.

Story
DOB 9/1/18 estimated UPDATE: Sweet Daisy has grown up with us at BSK. She is such a sweet girl. She loves to be held and get attention from her foster. However, she is very scared of strangers. If you are looking for a great cat, please come meet her. She will have to choose her new person but if you are the lucky one she chooses, you will have a little shadow. Daisy was the smallest of a litter of 5. She was born to a feral mom. When she was about 7 weeks old, her mom left her and her brother Duke at the feeders home. Daisy was very sick with an upper respiratory infection. Duke was taking care of her. They were both caught and immediately taken to the vet. They were both put on antibiotic and are healthy and happy now. Daisy is a very sweet, active girl. She loves to cuddle with her foster mom and showers her with kisses. Daisy is very bonded to her foster. She will need to "choose" her new owner. She was adopted out with her brother Duke but both were so scared that they were returned almost immediately.

Story
DOB - 4/28/21 estimate Jody was a very feral kitten when he came to us. He has made great progress. He loves to be pet and is even okay being held. He actively seeks out his foster for attention! He is still timid with new people so he will need a very special person to adopt him who will give him the time he needs to blossom in a new home. He really is a sweet guy once he decides you can be trusted. he can be aggressive towards other cats so he would prefer to be an only cat or be adopted with his sister Buffy.

Story
Date of Birth: 8/6/22Adoption Fee: $100.00Date Posted: 8/8/23Meet our very handsome mini-panther, Sam! This little warrior has endured much more than a kitty should have to face. He survived on his own in the North Georgia mountains for the first four months of his life. He was then surrendered to the local animal control facility. He lived in a cage for the next four months of his life passed over again and again. At 8-months-old, he was finally adopted. Sam tried to be the best kitty for his new family. He fetched balls just like a puppy to the delight of his caregivers. He snuggled close to them at night. Despite that, it would not be little Sam's "happily ever after". Sam's new family declawed him despite warnings about the pain that it was cause him. Sam still tried to be a a good boy but he was a typical older kitten who occasionally jumped on furniture and knocked things onto the floor. His human mom became frustrated that he did not lay quietly by his side like his 8-year-old feline brother. The family decided that euthanasia was the best solution because "going back into a cage at the shelter would be too hard for him". A kind person contacted Pippi's Place to ask for help on Sam's behalf. We could not turn our back on him. Sam is currently in a loving foster home. He is an energetic 1-year-old who enjoys games of chase and wrestling with other young adults. He ADORES cuddling with his foster mom. If she goes too far out of sight, he finds her and "talks" to her in his best kitty voice to let her know that he would like to spend some time together. Due to the fact that Sam spent much of his time outside as a young kitten, his foster mom believes that it would be best for Sam to be able to move freely between the inside and outside in a safe, protected area due to the fact that he is declawed and cannot defend himself. Sam has retained his fun-loving, sweet spirit despite the trials he has experienced in his young life. He continues to love without limits and spread joy everywhere he goes. Will you be his true forever family? Few kitties are more deserving.

Story
Date of Birth: 1/25/19Adoption Fee: $100.00Date Posted: 3/1/24Hi! My name is Rayne. I am a stunningly beautiful lady with a coat of pure white fur accentuated by striking and unique eyes; one is a pale blue like the shallow waters of the ocean and the other is pale green like a beautiful leaf just sprouting in the spring. I lived with a family since I was a tiny kitten. One day, they decided they didn't want me and took me to a animal control facility. I didn't understand why they left me there because they told the people that I had always been a really good girl. I was terrified. I curled up in a corner of the cage and kept my head down. I growled a little when people tried to pet me but I never once swatted or tried to bite. I knew that was not nice. I would turn my huge, dilated eyes up to look at people but that is all. After a few weeks, the rescue lady came to pick me up. She took to her house where it was calm and quiet. I got in a box near the ceiling of the foster room so that I could watch everything and still feel safe. The rescue lady talked to me softly when she came into the room. She let me sniff her finger before she tried to pet me so I knew that she cared about me. After a few weeks, I started pressing my head into her hand and flipping over on my side rubbing my body against the side of the box to let her know that I really wanted her to stay and keep petting me. A few days after that, I came down from my perch when she came into the room and walked right over to her for pets. I even rubbed against her legs and then climbed into her lap for a little bit! I am growing more comfortable every day. You should know that I am FIV+ but it is no big deal. I can live with other cats with minimal risk of transmission. The research shows that FIV kitties live normal lives, both in quality and duration. My foster mom attached some links so you can read a little more about FIV. I will need for my new family to be patient with me when I first come home because another change will be a little intimidating. However, I will quickly learn that I am safe and loved. I will be the very best companion and friend. My foster mom already loves me. She knows you will too. Please come see me soon...it will be wonderful to meet my truly forever family.FIV Information:https://resources.bestfriends.org/article/fiv-cats-feline-immunodeficiency-virus-faqshttps://www.alleycat.org/resources/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv/

Story
Mimosa is a sweetheart! She purrs the minute a person walks into her cat room. She is shy initially to new people then approaches and wants nothing more than to be petted. She would love to be by your side all day but is independent enough to be content alone . She is happy as an indoor cat only. She was a stray that had 2 sets of kittens under my porch. I was able to re-home the second set and bring her inside. She gets along with our two cats and dogs. She is not one to be assertive so if you have pets they would need to be gentle towards her. Unfortunately, one of our cats can be too dominate and we have had to separate them. Mimosa is truly a very special, lovable cat that needs a forever loving home.
