Planned PEThood is seeking adopters who have safe outdoor housing that can provide unsocialized cats with a chance at life. These cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and ear tipped. There is no adoption fee for our working cats, but we happily accept donations to continue the program’s efforts. If you are interested submit an ’employee request form’ below or call/e-mail with questions. Our Working Cats program is designed to place cats into safe environments where they are valued for their hunting skills. The cats in this program are considered ‘unadoptable’ by local animal control agencies and have been placed in this program as an alternative to euthanasia. The cats may not be suitable for adoption because they are unsocialized and/or did not acclimate to living in close quarters with humans. A working cat is a type of domestic cat that “works” for its upkeep by hunting vermin, such as rodents. They are commonly employed where pest control is needed: in barns, farms, factories, warehouses, stores, churchyards, and private property. One benefit of using a working cat is that they alleviate the need for harmful pesticides in pest control. Through our partnership with Gwinnett County Animal Welfare & Enforcement and other animal control agencies, we have been able to save over 750 unsocialized cats by sending them to working cat environments. Mac is a sweet little guy who never misses an opportunity to have some fun. He gets along great with other cats and loves his little brother Cheese. Ping Pong balls and jingle bell balls are his most favorite toy to chase around. Wand toys are also a ton of fun for him. Mac is an affectionate little guy who always wants some snuggles in the morning or really anytime that his foster hasn’t been around for a few hours. He will make a great addition to any family. I received Hera from someone close who had got her from the Atlanta Humane Society. She was born on 5/9/21 making her 3 years old. I’m trying to find a home that loves Hera as much as we do, can take good care of her, show her affection as much as she shows affection to others. Hera is very sweet and loves being pet (does not like being picked up, but doesn’t attack or do any harm when done so). She loves to eat, she is very good with kids and she loves to talk.

I received Daisy when my sister's cousin in law had to move. I have had her for a few years now. She's about 4 years old. She loves people and even knows how to sit! She has some leash training, and is very smart. Her ideal home would be someone with no other cats unless you clip her nails regularly. She loves to cuddle on her terms. She is currently on gabapentin for some pain in her back and some anxiety. She's been an indoor mostly cat and is up to date on her rabies shot. She loves playing with her laser light and is funny to watch as she plays. She knows a few commands like her name, sit, calling her kitty kitty to come, show me for you to follow her, and sometimes no. If you are wanting a pet with a cute personality, Daisy is definitely for you!
