Story
Planned PEThood is seeking adopters who have safe outdoor housing that can provide unsocialized cats with a chance at life. These cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and ear tipped. There is no adoption fee for our working cats, but we happily accept donations to continue the program’s efforts. If you are interested submit an ’employee request form’ below or call/e-mail with questions. Our Working Cats program is designed to place cats into safe environments where they are valued for their hunting skills. The cats in this program are considered ‘unadoptable’ by local animal control agencies and have been placed in this program as an alternative to euthanasia. The cats may not be suitable for adoption because they are unsocialized and/or did not acclimate to living in close quarters with humans. A working cat is a type of domestic cat that “works” for its upkeep by hunting vermin, such as rodents. They are commonly employed where pest control is needed: in barns, farms, factories, warehouses, stores, churchyards, and private property. One benefit of using a working cat is that they alleviate the need for harmful pesticides in pest control. Through our partnership with Gwinnett County Animal Welfare & Enforcement and other animal control agencies, we have been able to save over 750 unsocialized cats by sending them to working cat environments. Contact us today at 678-541-9370 or barncats@pethoodga.org if you would like more information on this program.

Story
Cecile (CeCe) is a very shy little girl. She was brought to the shelter after suffering a trauma to her head. The trama caused perment blindness in one eye and significant loss of sight in the other. We know she was scared with the sudden loss of her vision. She will need a home where she can take the time she needs to feel safe and it could take her months to feel comfortable. Loud noises, sudden movements and chaos is not good for her :(. Cecile is a project but I think she will be so worth it ?? She is spayed, microchipped, up to date of vaccines and combo negative for FIV and FeLV If you would like more information on CeCe please contact her foster mom @ davenportal@gmail.com or 770-367-3822

Story
She was a stray found in the dumpster area at my workplace. We trapped her and tried to find her owners. We took her to get spayed and have kept her during her healing process. Our thoughts were to release her back into the wild but she is the sweetest cat. She is incredibly affectionate. We adore her but are unable to keep her long term as we have too many pets already.

Story
Meet Ginny She is a beautiful orange tabby girl. Ginny is beyond sweet and loving She is a vocal girl who adores pets and all things people. Ginny loves food and will never turn down a churu. Ginny likes to play with crinkle balls and cat wands. Ginny is looking forward to being someone's shadow as she will follow you and request love. Ginny will do well with other well mannered cats. She has shown no signs of agression / only curiosity. - loving - cuddle bug - gentle - vocal - food motivated - playful - well mannered - curious - silly ---------- Once vetted, our kittens are dewormed, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. Our feline adoption fee is $120, which assists in offsetting but does not entirely cover the expenses incurred for the animal's care and completion of essential veterinary care. We do not place cats in homes based on the order of application received. Instead, we prioritize the earliest applications that are the best match for the kitten. We will prioritize applicants within a 2 hour drive of Atlanta, GA to help minimize the kitten's stress during transport. Our adoption process does not happen in a single day. Typically, it can take at least a week for applications to move from submission to adoption. We reserve the right to deny any applicant for any reason.
