Story
PrincessMy dearest wish is to find someone to love me and consider me their Princess in a grey fur coat. I am 10-years-old and weigh only 7 pounds. I have been a resident of the HSHC a couple of times but got adopted each time. This last time, my adopter surrendered me to a different shelter, but it made sure I was returned to the correct place. I am an easy-going girl, already spayed and litterbox trained. My needs are few--food, a soft spot to sleep, and love from a caring human. When you reach my age, you no longer crave an active lifestyle. Napping takes up a large part of my day. I would love to have a window at my disposal to watch the world go by. I have not always enjoyed the company of other cats, so I would love to be the only 4-legged member of the family. The interviewer lady told me I am a sweet, petite, pretty tabby who has lots of headbutts and nose kisses to share. Can I spend my golden years with you? 5-30-24

NovaHow do you do? My name is now Nova, but when I was at the HSHC for the first time, I was Gidget. I was found as a stray cat in Fishers when I was three. I got adopted and lived with this family for three years. I was happy, but one of the animals in the household (a dog) did not tolerate cats. So I have returned to HSHC, 6-years-old and a bit bewildered about my current situation. I am an easy-going girl with a pleasing personality. I am living peacefully in a Roaming Room with several other cats, demonstrating my social skills. I was a gentle, cuddly girl when I was here the first time, and I remain so now. The interviewer lady came to see me, and I was perched atop a cat tree looking out the window. I had been resting my eyes, but when she placed her head on a level with mine, I sniffed her and encouraged her to pet me. I rearranged myself so that she could reach several itchy areas. Another cat approached to investigate and hissed at us, but I ignored her and continued enjoying myself. I look forward to being adopted by someone who loves cats and whose dog is also a cat-lover! 7-10-24

Story
Dice and DominoWe have never played with dice or dominos due to that pesky opposable thumb issue, but our owner must have enjoyed these games--thereby, our names. We were surrendered to HSHC in late April, as having two cats was just too expensive for our owner. We are not sister and brother, but we are besties, and so we must be adopted together. As the "alpha cat," Dice will speak for Domino. I am larger and braver than he is! I am a spayed brown Tabby with a white bib, belly, and feet. I am photogenic and love posing for the camera. Domino is a handsome black-and-white neutered fellow, but he is the shy, retiring type, so catching a good picture of him is more challenging. When the interviewer lady (IL) asked to speak with me, I was happy to put my head in her hand for pets, roll over on my side for scratches, and eat pieces of food from her hand. However, when she went to Domino, he scooted back into his Kasa and gave her a wide-eyed look. He let her pet him, but it was a scary situation for him. We are both 3-years-old, healthy, and eager to find our forever home. Just let me, Dice, do most of the talking for now. 5-23-24

Story
ScarletWhen I was first surrendered to HSHC, I was an 8-month-old Calico kitten. My owner was moving but not taking me along. After only a week, I got adopted, and life was good! I lived with my new owner for two years before allergies in the family resulted in me returning to the HSHC. Because I was so distraught at being in the shelter, I went to live with a foster mom. I am now 3-years-old and so grateful for my time in a home. My first reaction to new things and people is to be fearful and hiss. My foster mom said it took me about a week to get comfortable enough to stop hiding and hissing. By mid-April, I would rub against her, jump into her lap, settle down, and purr. As long as I feel I know a person, I am an affectionate little girl. Based on how safe I feel, I have a cuddly side to my personality. However, to ensure I remain comfortable in a home, all family members need to be 18 or older. I used my litterbox very well in my foster home. When the interviewer lady visited me, my first reaction was to hiss. However, the more time spent with me results in a sweet, loveable kitty. If you have the time, I have the desire to move in with you! 5-30-24

Story
TummyI'm warning you--you might need to take notes to keep up with my story. In 2021, my owner lost her home, so I went to HSHC. I was adopted, but after only two months, I was returned because the dog in the home terrified me (he even liked cats, but I wasn't having it). Finally, I was adopted and lived with my owner for 2 years. But he surrendered me due to finances. I'm not sure when my name was changed from Stumbles to Tummy, but it was recent. When I was just a kitten, I was diagnosed with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which is a fancy way of saying I am a bit klutzy. I don't always walk in a straight line, have trouble jumping and going up and down stairs, and may be shaky. However, there is no treatment or cost for this condition. Google this, and you'll learn all about it. I currently live with a foster mom, and she is a peach! I frequently go up to her or her daughter for affection. She says I am "sweet, curious, and playful," I get around very well on the carpet. I use my litterbox religiously. I am friendly and like kids. I know she would adopt me if she didn't have a dog! I have a lot of charm. I am only 4-years-old and weigh only 6.8 pounds. If you like the bed-head look, I'm your girl! 6-25-24

Story
Mr. Maverick I was just a stray kitten when I was first brought to the HSHC. The good news is I was adopted right away. The bad news is, after nine years, I was surrendered back to the shelter. I loved my family; however, the kids worried me a lot. As I have grown older, my tolerance for stress, loud comings, goings, and routine change has significantly declined. I hate to use the words "litterbox issue," but add to my anxiety level that I have had very painful declawing surgery on my front paws, and you have a justifiable reason. Look at my feet, and you will see they are a hot mess. My declawing left behind bone fragments that had to be removed in a second surgery. OW-EEE! When the interviewer lady visited me, I was so happy to see her that I rubbed against her, flipping my tail, purring, and giving her nose kisses. She said I was a "perky" young fellow, which is flattering since I am 12-years-old. I would love to be adopted by a loving person or couple with a calm home life and less foot traffic than my last home. I have a lot of living to do and can't wait to do it with YOU! 7-9-24

Story
I was a stray in a colony of cats. Most of them were scaredy cats, but I am not at all. I am very loving, and want to be loved and petted. I have a flea allergy, so it has been rough having to live outside. My gorgeous black and brown fur is growing back and I just love for my person to pet me and hold me. I am quite the talker and will hold an hour long conversation with you especially when you're not paying me any attention!! I hope to have a forever family who will value me as a member of the family.

My name is Maggie. I was a mom to 4 beautiful baby boys who have all found their forever home. I gave birth to them outside. When they were 3 days old a nice lady came and brought us into her house. I love it inside! I use the litter box. I get along easily with other kitties and tolerate dogs well. I'm a nice cat and I LOVE other cats but I don't allow my people to pet me very often. I prefer to watch. I love to watch my foster mom work in the kitchen and around the house! I'm told my behavior will make it more difficult to find me a home. I want to go to a home with at least one other cat. I'm looking for a place I can happily live and continue to learn to trust. I just need a family with patience a big heart! Is that you?

I was born at a cat collector's house. That may sound crazy, but she really is. She decided that she would let us go to a home, along with some others. I am very thankful that I was able to get out and have the opportunity to find a home. I am a sweetie. I love to play. I will play with anything that I find interesting. I love feather toys and balls that crunch. If you want to adopt me, here is a link to apply. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/POMH/Cat

I came from an area where people drop off cats and kittens in the country. If you have never had a black cat before, you might be in for a treat. Black cats are not only beautiful, but we have great personalities. I am a sweet girl who is ready for a home of her own. I am playful and lots of fun. I will be a great companion for you. I'm Khaki and I'm such a cute little girl with ears that stay a little flat. That doesn't mean I'm mad! I was just made that way! Me and my sisters came from a barn in Elwood IN! I am a professional biscuit maker and love to suckle my fleece blanky. I love pets and baby talk too! I would love a forever home and if you would let my skitzy sister, Spicie, come with me that would be a bonus! Let me know what your heart says! I've been waiting almost a year for my people to find us!

Story
I'm Spicie but I'm not really spicey, I'm just a timid girl that was caught from a barn in Elwood IN. My sisters got scooped up a week or two earlier and I was left all alone out there! I have been hanging with my sister, Khaki, for almost the last year waiting for our people to find us. I wonder if you could give me a chance to just live in your home and also take my great sis Khaki as a bonus! That would mean so much to us!

Story
For six years, Luna has been a cherished member of our family. Unfortunately, due to our recent relocation, we must find a new loving home for her. Luna, also known as "Cookie Crisp", came into our lives as a stray from the Northeast side of Indianapolis. She has been spayed, microchipped, and enjoys excellent health. Luna is a delightfully playful and affectionate cat who thrives on human interaction. Whether she's cuddling in a lap or engaging in spirited play, Luna brings joy wherever she goes. She is comfortable around other cats and children, though she hasn't had exposure to dogs. If you're seeking a loving companion who adores attention and playtime, Luna would be a wonderful addition to your family.
