I’m Marin (also known as “baby” since I was the smallest of my siblings) and was born around 3/22/2022.  I have a heart murmur and have had a couple of allergy flare up.  We don’t know exactly what causes my allergies however when I have a flair up I’ve taken Prednisolone has resolved it when needed. My heart murmur just gets monitored so nothing is needed at this time for it.  I’m so excited that I no longer have to eat a prescription diet which I was trying to see if my allergies were food related.  If you met me you would not know I have periodic allergies or a heart murmur.  I’m a sweet boy who enjoys a good snuggle and bird watching from the window!  My best friend and brother is Nox. If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please complete the online Adoption Application.  If you would like to donate to this pet's care, please click here. Look no further than Nox, the male orange tabby who is winning hearts with his sweet and laid back nature. Nox has Feline Atopic Skin Syndrome, an allergy that requires special care and attention. But don't let that deter you from adopting him, as he is currently receiving medication and going to a pet allergy specialist to get tested. With the hope of ending his allergy issues, Nox is a sweet kitty who deserves a loving home. He enjoys bird watching and belly rubs, and his allergy is not food-related, so he can enjoy treats like any other cat. Adopt Nox today and give him the forever home he deserves!   If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please complete the online Adoption Application.  If you would like to donate to this pet's care, please click here. Story
StellaI was a 2-month-old stray kitten when I first came to the HSHC. I am now 6-years-old and have lived with two different owners. I want you to know that I LOVE adults & teens. I used to sleep with my owners! I am a friendly, outgoing girl, but I liked being home alone, with no commotion to disturb my naps. When little kids arrived, they made a lot of noise and disrupted the routine. I prefer a calm, predictable environment. When the interviewer lady came to my little room, I quickly went to her for some attention. I love being petted, scratched, and stroked! I am an affectionate girl as long as little children are not around. Although I have had litter box avoidance incidents, I never had problems with the litterbox in my foster home. I readily used various litter types at various height levels. If you give me a small space of my own, with everything I need in one place, I will feel much better about moving in with you. Let me settle in for a few weeks before giving me free rein of the house. I have enjoyed the company of a dog, but I have never lived with other cats (until arriving back at the shelter). Because I have been at the HSHC three times, you must meet with me more than once to ensure it is a match made in heaven. I am eager for a fresh start, so hurry up! 1-29-24

Story
Xander (16lbs) and Sophie (10lbs) are a pair that are looking for a new forever home either together or separately. They are around 7 years old. I don’t have any paperwork on Xan’s linage, but he is Bengal in looks, appearance and temperament. They’re both very tall, long and lanky so I don’t know Sophie’s exact lineage but she is very similar in temperament. Unfortunately I now work long hours and cannot provide them with the time and attention they need. They’re both sweet cats and I love them so much but I know that they’re unhappy and I want to do what’s best for them. Xander is on Prozac (once daily ear cream) but no other health issues for either of them. They are extremely loving but not lap cats. They’re happiest when able to sit next to you and be petted, and he loves to give head butts. Xander has a lot of stories to tell anyone that will listen (and even those that may not want to lol) and loves to show off by jumping to the highest point he can reach and racing around.

Story
I was a stray in a colony of cats. Most of them were scaredy cats, but I am not at all. I am very loving, and want to be loved and petted. I have a flea allergy, so it has been rough having to live outside. My gorgeous black and brown fur is growing back and I just love for my person to pet me and hold me. I am quite the talker and will hold an hour long conversation with you especially when you're not paying me any attention!! I hope to have a forever family who will value me as a member of the family.

Story
My name is Maggie. I was a mom to 4 beautiful baby boys who have all found their forever home. I gave birth to them outside. When they were 3 days old a nice lady came and brought us into her house. I love it inside! I use the litter box. I get along easily with other kitties and tolerate dogs well. I'm a nice cat and I LOVE other cats but I don't allow my people to pet me very often. I prefer to watch. I love to watch my foster mom work in the kitchen and around the house! I'm told my behavior will make it more difficult to find me a home. I want to go to a home with at least one other cat. I'm looking for a place I can happily live and continue to learn to trust. I just need a family with patience a big heart! Is that you?

Story
I was born at a cat collector's house. That may sound crazy, but she really is. She decided that she would let us go to a home, along with some others. I am very thankful that I was able to get out and have the opportunity to find a home. I am a sweetie. I love to play. I will play with anything that I find interesting. I love feather toys and balls that crunch. If you want to adopt me, here is a link to apply. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/POMH/Cat

Story
I came from an area where people drop off cats and kittens in the country. If you have never had a black cat before, you might be in for a treat. Black cats are not only beautiful, but we have great personalities. I am a sweet girl who is ready for a home of her own. I am playful and lots of fun. I will be a great companion for you.
