Story
Introducing Kai, a 7 year old female Dutch shepherd. She has lived a wonderful life and has been well cared for and socialized but her owner has come into hard times and has to make the incredibly hard decision to find her a new home. He loves her so much and knows she deserves the world that he can’t provide. Please no rude comments, he is heartbroken. Kai is an incredibly intelligent dog. She absolutely adores people. She is 7 years old but she is still ready for adventures. Kai will need a family that will provide daily exercise and then a couch to sleep on! Kai is good with other dogs, especially male dogs. She has also been around cats and was great with them. Kai has been professionally trained and is housetrained. Kai is located in Huntsville AL. We are needing to find her a forever home by the end of the month! If you are interested in adopting Kai, please fill out an application on our website forrescue.net

Story
Name: Becca Age: 9 months Breed: Dutch Shepherd mix Size: 41 lbs Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Becca is all puppy, all heart, and all energy—at 9 months old, she’s ready to turn your home into her playground! This spirited little firecracker loves to play rough (Shephard chompies), explore, and keep everyone on their toes. She’s eager to please and incredibly smart, so with consistent guidance and training, she’ll shine. Her puppy enthusiasm comes with a side of rough-and-tumble play, so Becca would do best in a home without younger kids and with someone ready to help channel her high-energy antics. She listens well to corrections and thrives when given structure, exercise, and a friend (human or canine!) to run off some of that endless energy. Becca is happiest when she’s part of the action—chasing a ball, zooming through the yard, or exploring new adventures with her favorite people. If your family is ready for a lively, loving, and endlessly entertaining pup, Becca is ready to make your house her happy chaos! Becca is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and already spayed. Becca's $300 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports! --> If you are interested in adopting Becca please fill out our online application here: (https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 - Dog). A staff member will reach out if your application is approved to discuss the adoption process. No fenced in yard required, and YES - we adopt to families with children! The adoption will not be final until the adoption contract is discussed and signed. Transports are arranged for specific dates, typically within 1-3 weeks of approving your application. Adopters will meet at a designated meeting spot to pick up their new companions. For further information, please first fill out the application referenced above. **Due to import regulations we are not able to adopt to MA or RI residents at this time.

Logan is a total lover! Really great temperament and very easy going . Great with both male & female dogs . Great with people and he really loves kids. He’s very forgiving and easy to handle. Logan would make great family member or companion for a lucky person. Medium energy, loves to go on walks or trips to the store. Whatever you’re ready for, he’s ready for. Logan is in a crummy Texas kill shelter, but would love I nice couch to sit on with his favorite human. You can change his life right now . Vaccinated, neutered, checked for hw. Be the hero you want to be ! Having a dog makes you sleep better, live longer and have less stress…FACT!

**** Breed Experience or similar breed experience will only be considered***Name: HannahBreed: Dutch Shepherd MixAge: 3 years oldKids: 12+ Cats: NoDogs: NoHold onto your hearts, Hannah is hard not to fall in love with!! This beautiful girl came to MHS as a transfer from a local animal control partner. Hannah is about 3 years old and has an equal amount of boundless energy as she has love to give!Hannah will require a home with Shepherd/Belgian Malinois, or similar breed experience. Hannah is extremely smart and loyal to her people, this girl knows all the basic commands, and then some! Hannah has a ton of energy so will require an active home that will give her a job to do to prevent boredom, and a home preferably with a fenced in yard so she can get all her energy out.Hannah does have a tendency to jump very high when she's excited and wants to say hello, so we are seeking a home with older, breed savvy children. Hannah would prefer a home without any other animals.Hannah is microchipped, UTD on her vaccinations, and is spayed. If you think you can give Hannah her forever home, please fill out an adoption application today!!!https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27

Darcy's Story Meet Darcy , a beautiful 4 year young girl with a heart as warm as the island she came from. Darcy was rescued from the Cayman Islands, and her sister Danielle has already found her forever home through us. Now it’s Darcy’s turn to shine and finally get the family she deserves. We’re told she’s a Dutch Shepherd/Collie mix, and she has the perfect blend of sweetness and playfulness. Darcy absolutely LOVES to play ball , she’ll chase it, bring it back, and be ready for the next throw with that happy, eager sparkle in her eyes. She also enjoys doing zoomies around the yard and then settling in for snuggles. Darcy has a quiet, gentle personality that makes her easy to love. She’s wonderful with children, great with other dogs, and happiest when she’s close to her people. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and devoted companion, Darcy just might be your perfect match. If you’d like to give this Cayman sweetheart her forever home, please submit an application at almosthomeli.org.

Story
Bought Ace from a store in Norwalk and ever since then I had problems with my family not liking him. They all get annoyed by his presence and when he does things like barking or would have accidents here and there it would turn into a huge thing. But along with that I’m also not able to properly tend to his needs and it was a huge miscalculation on my part because I didn’t think my family would dislike him being there as much as they do but I learned the hard way. I work early and come back late and I’m not able to walk him or give him as much attention as I should be, not even close and I just want a better home for him. As long as I am guaranteed a home that will take care of his needs I’ll be content and okay. I’m also willing to the family interested in adopting
