Buster is a 1 year old 40 pound neutered brindle Shepherd mix (Dutch/Belgium) part Carolina Dog. He came to Mesquite Animal Shelter on 5/9 as a stray. He has a tall, lean body with a healthy coat and exceptionally big ears. He’s very sociable. He prefers to hang out with his human friends. He’s very loving and well mannered. He sits for treats and takes them gently. He does jump up but not on you. He walks OK on a leash. He didn`t show any interest in other dogs, yet if you have another dog in the home please ask the shelter for a dog test. He did his business when he got into the yard. He’s a great all-around dog that would love to go for walks with you and then come back in to cuddle up watching TV.

We believe Dottie to be a strong Dutch Shepherd mix with those ears! All of her 9 pups inherited those ears too. Her pups have already gone into rescue. Now it's Dottie's turn for a forever home. At first , Dottie was scared of everything and everyone, hiding in the dog house whenever her foster was present. She would even take her food dish into the dog house to hide to eat. She LOVES other dogs! She now plays, polices the yard and goes in and out of the house. She crates very well and walks on a leash. Violet is a love bug to her people but cautious of others until trust is built. She takes her role as her family's protector very seriously. She is thought to be a German Shepherd and Golden Retriever mix. She was born July 25, 2023, weighs 53 pounds, is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, HW negative and on preventative. She sleeps all night in her crate and is house trained. Due to Violet's rough start in life she will need a family with patience, allowing her to bond in her own time by giving her love, positive reinforcement and remembering that it's a journey not a race. Once she gains your trust she's likely to cuddle like a baby with her people, play with her chew toys and will love going on walks. Her ideal home is one where the mom or dad work from home or part time and has a doggie friend to play with. She does okay with respectful cats, but does try to herd anything that moves faster than a walk whether it is other dogs, cats or humans both young and old. She sees any type of fowl as a chew toy so we recommend a home without pet birds or chickens. A fenced yard and vet reference are required. Watson was born July 1, 2024 to an abandoned dog. Best guess on his breed is Shepherd, Lab, Pittie, and SuperMutt! We've included a pic of his momma who is a black Shepherd. He's a handsome hunk who loves to flirt! He can be a little shy at first but has the sweetest temperament and warms up quickly. He loves playing with other dogs his size (not sure about the little ones) and loves zoomies! Although he would love a playmate, Watson would be fine as your only dog getting all of your love and attention and would do well in a home with respectful children and cats. Watson has had some obedience training, walks great on a leash and knows the basic commands. He is crate and house trained too! Because he is still young and would benefit from consistency and structure having an adult who is home more than away would be best. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, HW negative and on flea & HW preventatives. We adopt in the DFW area only (within an hour's drive from Terrell) as we deliver our pets to their new homes., A fenced yard and vet reference are required.
