Story
Buster’s joy is contagious. If you’re looking for a happy, playful, fun-loving dog then come meet Buster. Buster is a 1 year old 40 pound neutered brindle Shepherd mix (Dutch/Belgium) part Carolina Dog. He came to Mesquite Animal Shelter on 5/9 as a stray. He has a tall, lean body with a healthy coat and exceptionally big ears. He’s very sociable. He prefers to hang out with his human friends. He’s very loving and well mannered. He sits for treats and takes them gently. He does jump up but not on you. He walks OK on a leash. He didn`t show any interest in other dogs, yet if you have another dog in the home please ask the shelter for a dog test. He did his business when he got into the yard. He’s a great all-around dog that would love to go for walks with you and then come back in to cuddle up watching TV.

Story
Meet Saint – A True Survivor Ready for His Forever Home! Saint is a stunning Catahoula/Dutch Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his story. This handsome boy was rescued from a local shelter after being found all alone with a severely broken leg. He was in desperate need of medical care, and thanks to the quick action of Legacy Humane Society and the loving care of his foster family, Saint is now fully recovered and thriving! Now healed and full of life, Saint is ready for his next chapter—with a forever family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and fantastic with people and other dogs. (He hasn’t been cat-tested yet, but we’re happy to do so upon request.) Saint is an energetic, athletic pup who lives for playtime. He’s a fan of fetch, tug-of-war, and zoomies, so an active home (and maybe a playful canine sibling) would be perfect for this spirited guy. He plays hard and loves harder! ✔️ Vetting Info: • Neutered • Up to date on vaccinations • Microchipped • Heartworm negative DOB: 4/23/24 ⚖️ Weight: 45 lbs  Adoption Fee: $125 If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal, loving, and playful pup, Saint is waiting for you! Fill out the adoption application today, and his foster will be in touch: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
We believe Dottie to be a strong Dutch Shepherd mix with those ears! All of her 9 pups inherited those ears too. Her pups have already gone into rescue. Now it's Dottie's turn for a forever home. At first , Dottie was scared of everything and everyone, hiding in the dog house whenever her foster was present. She would even take her food dish into the dog house to hide to eat. She LOVES  other dogs! She now plays, polices the yard and goes in and out of the house. She crates very well and walks on a leash. She Is sweet, still a little shy, but loves to be petted and loved on. She needs slow introductions to new people because of her shyness, never has she shown any aggression. She will do great with a loving, active family. Please give Dottie her chance at a forever family. https://bit.ly/codys_adoption_application. ##2418677##

Story
Garrett is a 2-year-old neutered male Dutch Shepherd with a handsome coat, an adorable smile, and a heart absolutely full of love. This sweet boy is a total love bug who adores being around people. Garrett gets so excited when it’s time to go for a walk that he does the cutest little happy jumps while waiting to head out. Once he’s out exploring, he does great on a leash and enjoys soaking up all the sights and smells around him.Garrett is incredibly affectionate and loves giving hugs to his favorite people. He has the sweetest smile that will melt your heart instantly, and food is definitely one of the quickest ways to win him over. With some tasty treats and a little love, you’ll have a best friend for life.He seems to do well with other dogs, but as always, a meet and greet is required to ensure a good fit for everyone involved.Garrett is currently underweight and could definitely use some extra groceries, snacks, and TLC to help him fill out and feel his very best again. Despite that, he hasn’t let anything dim his loving spirit or happy personality. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will greet you with hugs, smiles, and endless affection, Garrett is ready to find a family to call his own.

Story
Meister was found on the streets of Dallas with his brother Jaeger 10 years ago. My ex-husband and I adopted them at that time. Meister is as sweet as his brother. He is 11 years old. Both him and his brother do not get along with other dogs and I'm having trouble rehoming them both. I've tried multiple rescues and have had no luck rehoming them because they do not get along with other dogs and because they are seniors.

Story
He's 11 and my ex-husband and I adopted him 10 years ago. He was found on the streets of Dallas with his brother, Meister. He is very sweet and has no idea he's not a lap dog. My ex-husband passed away in December and Jaeger is currently eing taken care of by Pawty Pet Services, but that arrangement ends in July.
