Story
Jax is a 6 year old dutch shepherd mixed breed. We adopted Jax in 2022 at the age of almost 2 years old. He is leash, house, and crate trained.Jax is a great dog but very active. Jax enjoys going on runs, playing with/pulling firewood around the backyard, barking at and chasing squirrels out of his yard. He loves to please and likes to be near us. Retired previously, I now have returned to work full-time. Also in a few months, we will have our first grandchild. Therefore, these changes have and will continue to impact Jax because he is not getting the needed attention, activity, and exercise.Jax needs someone or a family with no or older children in the home. In addition, he is an alpha dog that functions well with consistent boundaries. He is protective and an overall good dog!

Story
Meet Saint – A True Survivor Ready for His Forever Home! Saint is a stunning Catahoula/Dutch Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his story. This handsome boy was rescued from a local shelter after being found all alone with a severely broken leg. He was in desperate need of medical care, and thanks to the quick action of Legacy Humane Society and the loving care of his foster family, Saint is now fully recovered and thriving! Now healed and full of life, Saint is ready for his next chapter—with a forever family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and fantastic with people and other dogs. (He hasn’t been cat-tested yet, but we’re happy to do so upon request.) Saint is an energetic, athletic pup who lives for playtime. He’s a fan of fetch, tug-of-war, and zoomies, so an active home (and maybe a playful canine sibling) would be perfect for this spirited guy. He plays hard and loves harder! ✔️ Vetting Info: • Neutered • Up to date on vaccinations • Microchipped • Heartworm negative DOB: 4/23/24 ⚖️ Weight: 45 lbs  Adoption Fee: $125 If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal, loving, and playful pup, Saint is waiting for you! Fill out the adoption application today, and his foster will be in touch: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Neal is a relaxed and sweet dog who seems to enjoy both playtime and affection from people. From our volunteer observations, he tends to be a bit shy and keeps to himself around other dogs, though he appears comfortable when approached and greeted. Neal has shown gentle corrections when he needs his space, but overall seems to get along well with canine companions in a calm, laid-back way. Contact us about Neal today!

Meet Lola, our beautiful 6-year-old, full-blooded German Shepherd who is looking for a loving new home. She has such a sweet and loyal heart. She’s been part of a family environment and has done wonderfully with children, always gentle and loving. She’s also enjoyed time with her best friend, Alfie (a Great Dane mix), so she’s comfortable around other dogs. Lola is well-trained and knows sit, down, stay, and come—and she will come with her training certificate. She walks incredibly well on a leash and truly enjoys being with her people. She’s affectionate, loyal, and thrives on connection.German Shepherds are incredibly intelligent, loyal, and protective dogs. They form strong bonds with their families and do best in homes where they are included in daily life. Story
Meet Chandler! Chandler is a handsome approximately 2 year old Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd mix weighing around 69 pounds who is ready to find the right family to call his own. Found as a stray in Rockwall, Chandler is now getting his chance at a fresh start and a future with a family who understands the needs of an intelligent, active dog. True to his breed mix, Chandler is a smart boy who will benefit from an experienced owner committed to providing regular exercise, mental enrichment, structure, and continued training. Chandler does well with female dogs but is not compatible with male dogs. If you currently have a female dog in the home, a meet and greet is required prior to adoption to help ensure everyone is a good match. Chandler is heartworm positive, but thanks to our wonderful partnership with Rockwall PAWS, his heartworm treatment is sponsored. His adoption fee is $125. Chandler is neutered, microchipped, current on his rabies vaccination and basic boosters. Chandler has the intelligence, loyalty, and potential to become an incredible companion for the right person. He is simply waiting for someone willing to give him the guidance, commitment, and home he deserves. If you are interested in adopting Chandler, please submit an online adoption application at: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/. An approved adoption application is required before scheduling a meet and greet.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. Story
Meet Montana, a 2-year-old, 65-pound Shepherd mix who has been waiting 128 days for his forever home. Now a Diamond Dog, his adoption fee is just $75. Montana came to us with a severe neck injury from an overly tight collar, but he has healed well and continues to gain confidence. He is gentle, walks well on leash, and would do best with a patient family willing to provide structure and encouragement. Montana needs a cat-free home, and a meet and greet is required with resident dogs. He is heartworm positive, but his treatment is sponsored by Rockwall PAWS. He is also neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. Montana is currently in a foster home, and an approved online adoption application is required for meet and greets and adoption.
