Story
Hello, I'm Ender! Young at heart, I'm a bundle of energy. I love exploring new places, sniffing out interesting scents, and learning new tricks. I'm not one to shy away from a challenge, my curiosity knows no bounds. I'm also quite the social butterfly, always eager to make new friends. Cuddles? Yes, please! There's nothing better than snuggling up after a fun-filled day. Loyalty is my middle name, once I choose you, it's for life. My independent spirit means I'm just as happy exploring as I am chilling out. Smart? You bet! I love puzzles and games that keep my mind sharp. Adopt me, not just because I'm friendly, curious, and cuddly, but because I promise to be your most loyal companion, bringing a spark of joy and a world of adventure into your life.

Story
Meet Sloane! Sloane is a 7-year-old, female, Dutch Shephard mix weighing approximately 60lbs. She was originally found on Lakeside Drive in Rockwall on 09/12/2023 and sadly never reclaimed. Sloane has been looking for her fur-ever family for 242 days as of 05/11/24 and truly cannot wait to be adopted. Sloane will be live and in person here at the shelter until the end of July! Sloane has shown that she truly is a super sweet and affectionate dog! She really loves people and thrives in a home setting! She's great with kids ages 4 and up and is very gentle while they play with her. She enjoys playing fetch, but she is still learning the "retrieve/return" part of the game and will have a blast running around with the ball. Tennis balls are her jam! She is crate and leash trained. Sloane seems to prefer having a human companion over a canine one but meet and greets can be arranged if you have another dog in the home prior to adoption. Since Sloane has been a resident of RAC for over 90 days, she is considered a Diamond Dog with a reduced adoption fee of $75. She is spayed, current on rabies vaccination and basic boosters, microchipped and heartworm negative! Since she is in foster and not currently at the shelter, an online application is required in order to meet with her. If you are interested in making Sloane a part of your family, please submit an adoption application located here: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. July 26, 2024, 8:07 pm

Story
Finnius Franklin, “Finn” needs a new home because he’s just not good for a homewith babies or young children. He can be a bit of a problem child but was neveranything serious for his adult humans nor his puppy ‘brother’. However, when ababy became part of future plans his humans took Finn in for some training.Everyone, including Finn agreed he wouldn’t do well in a home with young children.Finn needs leadership and good direction; he is an engaged, smart and athletic dogwho likes human interaction. He would be good with just about any type of training;very typical of the Dutch Shepherd breed.Finn lives with lots of other dogs and has been good playing with them. He hasgood house manners and is crate trained. He enjoys going in the car when he getsthe chance and is good on a leash. This handsome boy could excel with the right leadership and attention.

Story
Gentle Adult Dutch Shepherd Sloane is a gentle and affectionate girl who greets everyone she meets with lots of love. She's great with kids ages 4 and older and is very gentle while they play with her. She enjoys playing tug and fetch, especially if the toy squeaks! She makes an excellent walking partner, but also enjoys a peaceful day of lounging between her morning and evening walks. Sloane is a 7-year-old, female, Dutch Shephard mix weighing approximately 60lbs. She is spayed, current on rabies vaccination and basic boosters, microchipped and heartworm negative! If you are interested in adopting Sloane, please complete the online application and the foster will be in touch asap:  https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-application/   We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Molli was adopted from the Grand Prarie shelter in October of 2017 when she was 3 months old. She will be 7 years old in October 2024. She is great with other dogs once they warm up to each other. She goes on walks 5 days a week and needs exercise daily as she is very high strung. She is protective of her home and those who reside with her. She is very obedient and listens very well. We are needing to re home her for the sole fact of her shedding. We have a 17 month old daughter who is allergic to dogs and Molli’s shedding isn’t getting any better.
