Story
Meet Sloane! Sloane is a 7-year-old, female, Dutch Shephard mix weighing approximately 60lbs. She was originally found on Lakeside Drive in Rockwall on 09/12/2023 and sadly never reclaimed. Sloane has been looking for her fur-ever family for 325 days as of 08/02/24 and truly cannot wait to be adopted. Sloane will be live and in person here at the shelter until the end of July! Sloane has shown that she truly is a super sweet and affectionate dog! She really loves people and thrives in a home setting! She's great with kids ages 4 and up and is very gentle while they play with her. She enjoys playing fetch, but she is still learning the "retrieve/return" part of the game and will have a blast running around with the ball. Tennis balls are her jam! She is crate and leash trained. Sloane seems to prefer having a human companion over a canine one but meet and greets can be arranged if you have another dog in the home prior to adoption. Since Sloane has been a resident of RAC for over 90 days, she is considered a Diamond Dog with a reduced adoption fee of $75. She is spayed, current on rabies vaccination and basic boosters, microchipped and heartworm negative! Since she is in foster and not currently at the shelter, an online application is required in order to meet with her. If you are interested in making Sloane a part of your family, please submit an adoption application located here: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. September 14, 2024, 7:02 pm

Story
Celeste means heavenly which is an appropriate name for this sweet girl. Celeste is a 1 to 2-year-old 35 pound brindle Husky/Dutch Shepherd mix that came to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 8/19 as a stray. The bonus is that she's already spayed. She also wanted to wear a bright colored scarf to attract your attention. Her tail curls with a tip of white on the end. She also has one blue eye and one brown eye. She leaped and bounded around the yard, and sometimes got so excited that she jumped on me. She could use some manners training to learn not to do this. She is smart so she would be a quick study. With some coaxing she did sit. She came running to me when I called her from across the yard. She's affectionate and seeks attention. She's curious, friendly, outgoing, frisky, playful, and joyful. She did her business when she got out into the yard. She was not interested in meeting other dogs. When some barked at her she jumped back. She walks OK on a leash. She wants to be an inside dog mostly as she wants to integral part of her new family. She's saving up love and kisses for you.

Story
Yoko's DOB is 12/11/2022. We love her, she is so sweet, but to other dogs and humans? Unfortunately, she is aggressive. At most, we've gotten her to tolerate. She bit one of our pups on the nose a couple of months ago and it got swollen - it's healed now. In one of the pictures I provided, she is with her litter, therefore I want to clarify that I am NOT a breeder and this litter was accidental. The wait times to get an appointment was too long, so it happened. She is a cuddlebug. I know with the right person she will be treated much better than what we've given her instead of having to be euthanized in an overcrowded shelter. I do not want to give her away, but we are over the limit. Please take a chance on her. Thank you.

Gentle Adult Dutch Shepherd Sloane is a gentle and affectionate girl who greets everyone she meets with lots of love. She's great with kids ages 4 and older and is very gentle while they play with her. Story
Hi. My name is Luna. I am a female 3 year old German Shepherd that weighs around 70 Lbs. I was surrendered on 04/02/2024 by my owner because they could no longer care for me. I am a very sweet girl who walks excellent on a leash and has a very sweet disposition. I would make an excellent companion for a single person or family. I do well with larger breed dogs and am not suggested with cats or small dogs. A meet and greet is encouraged if you have another dog in the home to make sure we get along. I have been searching for my furr ever home for 160 days as of 09/10/2024 and am now considered a Diamond Dog! My adoption fee is $75. I am spayed, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccine, and have received my basic boosters to date. I did test positive for heartworms, however, thanks to Rockwall PAWS, I am able to receive treatment for little to no cost to my adopter. If you are interested in adopting me, please go to https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ to submit an online adoption application.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Story
Hi! I'm Dan! I'm an approximately 5 year old, male, German Shepherd mix who weighs about 65 lbs. I was found off Eva Plance in Rockwall on 06/15/2024 with a friend and sadly never reclaimed. I am 100% a water baby! I should have been born a dog-fish because I love being in the pool. I'd love to find a new home to celebrate the warm summer months so I can splish-splash! I walk well on a leash and appear to be crate trained. RAC is confident that I will be house trained quickly once I am adopted. I came in with a friend but a meet and greet is encouraged if you have another dog in the home. I have been searching for my furr ever home for 90 days as of 09/13/2024 and am now considered a Diamond Dog! My adoption fee is $75. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, and basic boosters. I did test heartworm positive but Thanks to Rockwall PAWS, I will be able to receive treatment at little to no cost to my adopters. If you have any questions about my heartworm treatment or heartworms, RAC staff is happy to answer any questions you have.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX.
