He's a great boy. Unfortunately, I'm in a place where I'm not able to give him the care he needs because I'm traveling so much. He's a content pup where you can walk him once in the morning and once at night, and he'll be fine. He plays well with dogs of a similar temperament, but doesn't do as well with smaller dogs. He loves to sit next to you on the couch and watch TV or go for long walks.

Meet Mimi! She is a 1 yr old spayed female mixed breed that weighs 47lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/8 as a stray. She is a beauty with a sweet face and brindle markings. Mimi wants to love but she is cautiously friendly. It takes her a bit of time to be comfortable with her human companion. She has so much love to give you can see it in her eyes. With the noise at the shelter it does make her uneasy. Once she is in a quiet setting she becomes more at ease. She loves to run through the shelter yard investigating, yet enjoys staying close to her human companions for plenty of petting. Mimi walks very well on a leash and takes treats gently. As we walked past the other dogs barking at her even tho she didn't like the noise she did not show any aggression. We do always ask if there will be another dog to please ask the shelter for a dog test. She is a very sweet, gentle, loving girl that does so hope, someone will see how special she really is and give her the chance to shower you with plenty of kisses! Come meet Mimi!

Tara is an active, lively one year old Dutch Shepherd that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 2/29 as a stray. She weighs 49 pounds. She is spayed. She has a striking appearance. She would turn heads when you took her for a walk. She's highly motivated by treats so she should be easy to train. Frequently during the photo shoot she would be sitting in anticipation of a treat. And yes, she does sit for treats and takes them gently. She was not interested in chasing a ball but found squeaky toys on her own and entertained herself with them. She even threw them in the air! She's very playful and fun loving. Therefore she needs a playful fun-loving active family to entertain her as she entertains them! She will keep you on your toes! She occasionally jumps on you but gets down with a sharp retort. And remember she's only one years old...exhibiting puppy-like behavior. She does want to please her human friend. She's a friendly happy girl. She wagged her tail when meeting some dogs but one was barking at her and she reacted. It may be that she just wanted to play. We always suggest if you have another dog to have the shelter do a dog test. Tara does have a strong pull on the leash. She's the perfect dog for an active family with a good size yard. She wants to be an integral part of YOUR family!

Please read the bio & email the address listed in the bio.   Additionally for CATS you  may email latkinson@eulesstx.gov  and for DOGS, email trinitygapclub@gmail.com       Meet Dutch!  This very handsome Dutch shepherd was found starving near a park in Euless, Texas.  A Good Samaritan found him and called Trinity GAP.  They agreed to foster him to keep this young dog out of an overly crowded shelter.  Dutch has gained weight and filled out to be a healthy handsome shepherd.  His favorite thing to do is go to the dog park.  He makes friends quickly and loves to run and play ball.  He has been going to K-9 Direction training classes, and continues to learn.  Dutch is kennel trained and will go in easily with a treat.  He enjoys the outdoors a lot, and loves to play outside with his toys and balls.  Because the fosters are not home during the day and they kennel him at night, he still needs work on being 100% potty trained because they have not really worked on it with him.   He is such a smart dog, he will quickly pick it up with some dedicated training.  Dutch is around one year old, neutered and fully vetted.   He will need a home with a yard and six food wooden fence. Starsky was confiscated from a hoarding/cruelty case Summer 2021.  His believed mom and brother were both adopted and his presumed dad, Rascal is in a Forever Friends home so he is the only one still without a family!  Starsky will be turning 3 years old this summer.  He is a short petite guy and weighs about 46lbs.  He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and current on prevention.
