Angel has one of the most incredible stories we’ve had since starting our rescue, and we would love nothing more than to help her find the loving forever home she deserves. Her story began when a kind couple found her in a very rural area. She was only 7–8 days old and weighed barely one or two pounds. Against all odds, this tiny baby survived. The couple rushed her to their veterinarian, where she received the care and medical attention she needed to stabilize and grow stronger. They lovingly cared for her throughout six weeks until their veterinarian cleared Angel. The couple who rescued Angel fell completely in love with her, but they had never intended to keep her. Their only goal was to save her life, and they did just that! Now, at approximately 14 months old, Angel is ready for the next chapter of her life: finding her very own forever family! A little about Angel: At around 38 pounds, Angel is a smaller, medium-sized girl who is already full grown. She is likely a mix of several breeds, but she strongly resembles a Dutch Shepherd, with her beautiful coloring and brindle coat. We suspect she may also have some Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler) in her mix. She has some of those classic Heeler characteristics, including liking to know where everyone is in the house! She's NOT an active herder, though. Angel is incredibly sweet, affectionate, cuddly, and loving. She absolutely enjoys being close to her people. Angel is very praise-driven and also motivated by treats and food, which makes her a wonderful candidate for learning new tricks and commands. Angel is comfortable being left home during the day. Her foster works long hours a few days a week, and Angel does just fine on her own. She is also familiar with using a doggie door. Angel has lived with other dogs while in foster care, but we believe she would be happiest as someone's only dog. She spent the first year of her life in a home where she was the only dog, and we think that is the environment where she would truly thrive. It's hard to believe that the fragile little puppy who fought so hard to survive is now a beautiful, happy young dog, ready to give someone a lifetime of love. This attractive girl with the most interesting coat and beautiful smile is Iris. According to my Dog Scanner she is an Australian Dutch Shepherd/American Pitbull mix. Iris weighs 51 pounds and is approx two years old. She was found as a stray on 10/2. Iris is a delightfully charming girl. She did warm up with I began petting her, she leaned into me as if to communicate that she would love for me to continue. Iris walks nicely on a leash and is possibly house trained. Iris had no interest in toys or balls. What struck me is that she has the most beautiful smile and shining eyes!

Hi, my name is Jaxson. I am soon to turn 2yrs come November 2026. For the last year and a half, all I’ve known is love, patience, free range play time and definitely structure. My eating schedule is two cups twice a day (5am and 4pm). Don’t tell others, but my family does offer human food as a treat sometimes and typically on weekends. I enjoy this very much as it has flavor as opposed to my routine dry food. House and crate trained with basic commands in order. For my future parents I’ve yet to meet, know that I am loyal and protective. It is my nature to guard all corners of a home and to investigate anyone entering our home. I love people but I will let you know if someone is not trustworthy by showing my teeth. I have never attacked anyone as I was trained to follow the order ‘Stand Down’. I also embrace other female dogs, however, when it comes to fellow males I am of competitive nature so it may go a little rough. I wonder what it will be like meeting you for the first time.

Hi, I’m GriffI’ve had a really rough start in life. I was found tied to a tree in terrible condition by one of the amazing volunteers, and that’s how I made my way to Apollo. I was scared, confused, and in need of medical care—but thanks to the rescue, I got the help I needed. I’m feeling so much better now, and the only thing left is a little bit of hair loss, which just makes me extra special.I was born in 201&, and I’ve already experienced abandonment and neglect. Because of that, the loud noises and busy environment at the rescue make me pretty anxious. But once you get to know me, you’ll see that I’m actually the cutest, quirkiest pup who loves to make people laugh and have fun.I’m looking for an active family who will love me, train me, and be patient while I continue to learn that the world can be a safe place. I’ll need understanding and kindness as I work through my past, but I promise I’m worth it.I’m neutered and up to date on all my shots. Right now, it’s hard to say if I’m dog reactive because the rescue environment is overwhelming for me. With time, a quieter home, and proper decompression, I may be able to tolerate other dogs—but slow, thoughtful introductions will be important.What I really need is someone willing to see past my rough beginning and help me write a happy ending. Scout is a protective, loyal partner. He loves to run and is high energy. He would do great in a household that is active and will take him on walks, runs and hikes. Scout loves the water and jumps headfirst in our kiddie pools at the rescue. He is a very affectionate dog and loves to snuggle in bed under the covers. He clings to his owner with a bit of separation anxiety when owner is not around. In a home with little exercise, he can become bored and destructive. He is house trained and walks well on a leash. Since he has gotten older his energy is less, but he will still love walks and hike and then a nice soft place to nap. He was born in 2015 and is located at the Rescue.
