Story
We believe Dottie to be a strong Dutch Shepherd mix with those ears! All of her 9 pups inherited those ears too. Her pups have already gone into rescue. Now it's Dottie's turn for a forever home. At first , Dottie was scared of everything and everyone, hiding in the dog house whenever her foster was present. She would even take her food dish into the dog house to hide to eat. She LOVES  other dogs! She now plays, polices the yard and goes in and out of the house. She crates very well and walks on a leash. She Is sweet, still a little shy, but loves to be petted and loved on. She needs slow introductions to new people because of her shyness, never has she shown any aggression. She will do great with a loving, active family. Please give Dottie her chance at a forever family. https://bit.ly/codys_adoption_application. ##2418677##

Story
Meet Saint – A True Survivor Ready for His Forever Home! Saint is a stunning Catahoula/Dutch Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his story. This handsome boy was rescued from a local shelter after being found all alone with a severely broken leg. He was in desperate need of medical care, and thanks to the quick action of Legacy Humane Society and the loving care of his foster family, Saint is now fully recovered and thriving! Now healed and full of life, Saint is ready for his next chapter—with a forever family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and fantastic with people and other dogs. (He hasn’t been cat-tested yet, but we’re happy to do so upon request.) Saint is an energetic, athletic pup who lives for playtime. He’s a fan of fetch, tug-of-war, and zoomies, so an active home (and maybe a playful canine sibling) would be perfect for this spirited guy. He plays hard and loves harder! ✔️ Vetting Info: • Neutered • Up to date on vaccinations • Microchipped • Heartworm negative DOB: 4/23/24 ⚖️ Weight: 45 lbs  Adoption Fee: $125 If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal, loving, and playful pup, Saint is waiting for you! Fill out the adoption application today, and his foster will be in touch: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Looking for you ride-or-die soulmate-the kind who sticks by your side through every season of life? Kennedy might just be your girl. She's a survivor with a heart of gold. In 2018, Kennedy was rescued from a shelter where she endured Hurricane Harvey in an outdoor cage, facing 140 mph winds. Whatever came before that storm, she's never let it define her. Kennedy is resilient, wise, and full of love. For the past six years, she's been more than a pet, she's been a steady companion, a hiking partner, a sunset-watching sidekick, and a quiet comfort during hard days. She's snuggled through tears, celebrated joyful moments, and made solo walks feel like shared adventures. Kennedy doesn't just live in your home--she lives in your heart. Kennedy's ideal home is peaceful and loving. She's not a fan of chaos or high-energy dogs, and she's grown less tolerant of small or bouncy pups. She'd thrive as your one-and-only or with other big dogs who respect her space and vibe. She is ready for her next chapter, a home where she can be someone's best friend, protector, and partner in quiet joy. If you're looking for a dog who truly sees you, Kennedy is waiting. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Our dogs are also heartworm negative (or we will cover their treatment). To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Kennedy is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.April 22, 2026, 1:21 pm

Story
Hi, I`m Nelli! I`m a friendly, sweet, playful, curious, goofy, mellow, and cuddly gal. I love to explore and play, my curiosity knows no bounds! I`m also quite the goofball, making everyone around me chuckle with my antics. When I`m not busy being playful and curious, I`m mellowing out, enjoying a good cuddle. And oh, how I love other dogs! They`re my favorite playmates. When I was brought to the shelter, I was not my best self but the staff here have really made me feel loved and have shown me how great of a dog I am. I have received my vaccines, am spayed, and have been putting on more weight back to a healthy shape. I`m still learning the ropes of potty training, but I promise to try my best. I`m not just a pet, I`m a friend, a companion, a source of endless entertainment and unconditional love. I can`t wait to meet my forever family and fill their lives with joy. Adopt me and let`s start our wonderful journey together!

Story
Tycho is a sweet, smart, stubborn boy. Any puzzle toys we've found last him no longer than 5 minutes, and he loves snuggle time on the couch. He's a big homebody, though also territorial towards strangers. We need to rehome him because he simply needs to have more interaction and more training than we can provide anymore, since he's developed some separation anxiety and some defensive behaviors because he just can't get enough energy out in a day. We're looking for a home that will be able to prioritize his activity levels and work on training with him since he really does want to be loved, he just doesn't trust easy. He is very particular about a lot of things, but also relatively well trained. We are more than willing to work with any interested parties to teach them all about him and his quirks, as well as make a slow, non-anxiety inducing transition to a new home.
