Story
Meet Saint – A True Survivor Ready for His Forever Home! Saint is a stunning Catahoula/Dutch Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his story. This handsome boy was rescued from a local shelter after being found all alone with a severely broken leg. He was in desperate need of medical care, and thanks to the quick action of Legacy Humane Society and the loving care of his foster family, Saint is now fully recovered and thriving! Now healed and full of life, Saint is ready for his next chapter—with a forever family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and fantastic with people and other dogs. (He hasn’t been cat-tested yet, but we’re happy to do so upon request.) Saint is an energetic, athletic pup who lives for playtime. He’s a fan of fetch, tug-of-war, and zoomies, so an active home (and maybe a playful canine sibling) would be perfect for this spirited guy. He plays hard and loves harder! ✔️ Vetting Info: • Neutered • Up to date on vaccinations • Microchipped • Heartworm negative DOB: 4/23/24 ⚖️ Weight: 45 lbs  Adoption Fee: $125 If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal, loving, and playful pup, Saint is waiting for you! Fill out the adoption application today, and his foster will be in touch: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Looking for you ride-or-die soulmate-the kind who sticks by your side through every season of life? Kennedy might just be your girl. She's a survivor with a heart of gold. In 2018, Kennedy was rescued from a shelter where she endured Hurricane Harvey in an outdoor cage, facing 140 mph winds. Whatever came before that storm, she's never let it define her. Kennedy is resilient, wise, and full of love. For the past six years, she's been more than a pet, she's been a steady companion, a hiking partner, a sunset-watching sidekick, and a quiet comfort during hard days. She's snuggled through tears, celebrated joyful moments, and made solo walks feel like shared adventures. Kennedy doesn't just live in your home--she lives in your heart. Kennedy's ideal home is peaceful and loving. She's not a fan of chaos or high-energy dogs, and she's grown less tolerant of small or bouncy pups. She'd thrive as your one-and-only or with other big dogs who respect her space and vibe. She is ready for her next chapter, a home where she can be someone's best friend, protector, and partner in quiet joy. If you're looking for a dog who truly sees you, Kennedy is waiting. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Our dogs are also heartworm negative (or we will cover their treatment). To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Kennedy is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.August 18, 2026, 2:21 pm

Story
Charley Dean – Young Dutch Shepherd Mix Charley Dean is a young Dutch Shepherd mix with the intelligence, athleticism, and loyalty this breed is known for. He is potty trained, crate trained, and does well with other dogs and even cats. This handsome boy is full of personality and loves toys, treats, and active playtime with his canine friends. He’s highly intelligent, food motivated, and eager to learn, making him a great candidate for continued training and enrichment activities. As a Dutch Shepherd mix, Charley Dean is not just looking for a couch to nap on — he’s looking for a partner. These dogs are known for their strong bonds with their people, trainability, and work ethic. He will thrive in a home that can provide structure, consistency, daily exercise, and mental stimulation. Puzzle toys, obedience work, hiking, running, agility, scent work, or even learning new tricks are all things he would likely excel at and enjoy. Charley Dean is energetic and athletic, but he’s also a very sweet and loving boy who enjoys being close to his people once his energy is burned off. He would do best with an active adopter familiar with working breeds or someone committed to meeting the needs of a smart, driven dog. With the right home and guidance, Charley Dean has all the potential to become an incredibly loyal, devoted, and fun companion. If you’re ready for a meet and greet, kick off the process with an application at www.flyingbrescue.org/adopt. Our application is thorough but there are no right or wrong answers - we just want to make sure you and the pet are the perfect match. Once we receive your application, we will schedule a phone interview. Our adoptions include a 2-week trial period with fully refundable adoption fees during that period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer transportation services and have happy families as references. We value transparency, so don’t be afraid to ask us anything.

Story
Callie is a sweet baby girl that would be a wonderful addition to your family! We adopted her in April of 2020 from an SPCA affiliate shelter. She was born in January of 2020. She is house broken and crate trained. She loves to fetch and run! Her best friend is a 5 lb cat named Stella. She loves to give kisses and will jump up to get closer to your face for said kisses. Sorry, I wasn’t gifted enough to train that out of her. She does not bit or nip. She only barks at strangers trying to come into the house, or if she needs your attention. She is a true shepherd and will heard you where she thinks you need to go! She's never shown any sign of aggression. She knows basic commands, sit, stay, wait, etc. I hate to let her go, she’s been a great friend and companion. But life changes and we have to move into an apartment in the city and will never be home. She deserves better than life in a crate.

Story
Fiona was rescued from a local shelter at 4 months old and extremely under weight. She is a beautiful, happy, playful girl now. We did a DNA test on her and she is 91.3% American pit bull and 8.7% German Shepherd. She is an extremely smart pup. She knows sit, and doing well with stay, wait, leave it and off. She is dog and people friendly. She would probably do fine with dog friendly cats and proper introductions. She did ignore a cat in foster home yard recently. She will probably weigh around 40-50lbs as an adult. She is working on crate training and potty training and doing well. She loves car rides and pup cups from Starbucks. Application required. Adoption fee $400
