Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Meet Leena – Your New Walking Buddy & Cuddle Champion Leena’s life could have ended on a busy road, but instead, it began there. Abandoned and terrified, she was nearly hit by the very person who would become her foster mom. Since that day, Leena has shown just how resilient and loving she truly is. Once scared and unsure, Leena has blossomed into a happy, bouncy, affection-loving girl who simply can’t get enough attention. She thrives with people who engage with her — walks, playtime, and quality time are her love language.  At just one year old, Leena is already housebroken, crate trained, and eager to please. She’s playful and entertaining (she can happily play on her own!) but also adores cuddle time when the fun is done. Her joyful spirit and sweet personality make her an absolute delight to be around. Leena doesn’t need much — just a family who will give her the attention, activity, and love she’s been waiting for. In return, she’ll give you loyalty, laughter, and a whole lot of heart. All she’s missing now is her forever family. Could that be you? Age: 1 Weight: 45 lbs Temperament: Gets along with other dogs, older sturdy kids (she's an active big puppy) Training: Housetrained, crate-trained  Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions:    debbiejwharton@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.January 9, 2026, 2:37 pm

Story
Please contact Marta (ultramarta@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Hazel's journey to find her forever home has been one of resilience and love. This beautiful girl had a tragic start when, at just a few weeks old, she and her siblings became part of a court case in which their owners were charged with severe abuse and neglect. In April 2023, Hazel and two of her siblings came into my care as foster babies. Since then, she has blossomed in a happy and safe environment, surrounded by her brother and sister. Hazel is 2 years old, weighs approximately 50 pounds and has been spayed. She is up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is crate trained & housebroken.  Hazel is an obedient girl and she knows basic commands such as Sit, Wait, Treat, Walk and Get In. She sleeps 8 hours a night in her crate and never makes a peep. She plays well with her canine siblings and other dogs she knows.  She has medium energy, walks well on a leash and loves to take walks around the neighborhood. Hazel loves people that she knows, but she needs time to warm up to new people. She is a timid girl and likes to take things slowly. She is food motivated which makes her easier to train. She loves to chase squirrels, so a watchful eye is needed. She has never been tested with cats. She would love a fenced backyard because she loves to run and play with the ball. If she runs in the yard for 10-15 mins then she’ll curl up and sleep.  If she doesn’t have a yard, she would do fine with a couple 1.5-2 mile walks per day with additional pee breaks throughout the day. Hazel would thrive as an only dog or with a compatible canine companion.  Her main need is for loving people.  She loves to sit close to you while you’re working or watching TV. Hazel has shown incredible strength despite her difficult beginnings. She deserves a forever home where she can continue to thrive and bring joy and love to a new person or family.July 11, 2025, 4:36 pm

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. Pepper is a tiny pup with a big personality and just the right amount of sass. He may be the smallest of his litter, but don’t let that fool you — this confident little guy is curious, brave, and always ready to join the fun. Pepper was born missing one of his back paws, and he already shows just how adaptable puppies can be. He runs, plays, and wrestles with other dogs without hesitation and doesn’t let this slow him down one bit. As he grows, a simple, planned amputation around 6 months of age is recommended to support his long-term comfort and mobility. Castoff Pet Rescue will help cover the cost of amputation. Puppies with this condition typically adjust incredibly well, and Pepper is expected to thrive as a happy, active tripod dog. This sweet boy loves people, enjoys playing with other dogs, and brings energy and laughter wherever he goes. His sleek black coat, adorable black speckling on his gray chest and paws, and expressive eyes give him a look that’s impossible to forget. What Pepper lacks in size, he more than makes up for in heart, resilience, and charm. He’s the kind of puppy who reminds you that being different can be pretty special. Pepper is the last of his litter needing a home and he looking for an adopter who is open-minded, committed, and excited to support him as he grows into the amazing dog he’s already proving he can be. Age:  10 weeks Weight: 7 lbs Temperament: Gets along with other dogs, cats and older respectful kids because of his size Training: crate-trained, but does need house training and basic puppy training Vetting:  Will be spayed , up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm testing at 6 months Email for questions:    http://rocyokeefe@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Blayze is a very hyper dog. He loves running. He is a golden retriever mixed with german shepherd as far as I know. He hasn’t been to the vet recently to get his yearly shots, but that is only because I don't have a car or enough money to pay for his shots. I taught him on my own, he learns very easily and usually listens. He has become a little anxious and jumpy, I believe it is because I don’t have enough space for him to roam around, and as time passed I have become more busy, so I haven’t been able to spend as much time with him as I should. He has almost been attacked by a dog once, but I stopped it just in time, so he is scared of other dogs if they get too close or move too fast. He has bit me once because he got off of his leash and I had to catch him. He has also bit someone because they bothered him and he was overwhelmed and anxious. He knows the commands sit, down, stay, go, come here, and paw. He has not been fully leash trained, but he is potty trained. He is very sweet.
