Aquaman starts out a little shy, like any good hero with a mysterious backstory, but give him a little patience and you’ll see him transform. Once he warms up (which happens quickly!), he becomes a loyal little shadow who just wants to be near his people. He’s the perfect compact companion — big enough for outdoor adventures, small enough to fit perfectly on your couch, your lap, or wherever you happen to be. He gets along great with other dogs, so he’d love a confident canine buddy to help show him the ropes. Or he’d be happy being your one-and-only sidekick.    Aquaman doesn’t need an underwater kingdom — he just needs a safe, loving home where he can feel secure and cherished. In return, he’ll give you lots of unconditional love and devotion. If you’re ready to be Aquaman's hero, he's ready to be your very best friend.  Apply today!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. Story
Meet Cooksi! This sweet 4-year-old, 45lb Lab mix is a gentle girl with soulful eyes and a heart that’s slowly learning just how good life can be. After spending most of her life in a quiet, rural setting, Cooksi has recently landed in the big, noisy city—and while that’s been a lot to take in, she’s adjusting beautifully. She can be shy at first, especially with new people or environments, but if you give her a calm hello and a little patience, she’ll quickly flop over and politely (then not-so-politely) demand belly rubs, complete with a paw tap or two to make sure you don’t forget she’s there. At home, Cooksi is an absolute dream. She’s fully housebroken, crate-trained, and happily sleeps through the night or a full workday without issue. Her crate is a cozy, positive space where she eats and rests, though she may occasionally remind you—with a soft little cry—that she’d rather be out hanging with you. She loves lounging on the couch or her dog bed, chewing on bones, and collecting toys… and sometimes random items like gloves or laundry, just to keep things interesting. She’s not a velcro dog, but she does like being nearby, quietly keeping you company while she naps (which she does expertly).Walks are still a work in progress for Cooksi. She enjoys calm, low-key strolls where she can sniff around and keep an eye on squirrels and birds, but busy streets, loud noises, and lots of activity can feel overwhelming. When things get hectic, she’d much rather do her business and head back to the safety of home. She’s treat-motivated, eager to please, and gaining confidence every day—especially when she has another dog around to help show her the ropes. Cooksi would thrive in a patient, loving home that understands her sensitive nature and is happy to let her blossom at her own pace. In return, you’ll get a loyal, affectionate, toy-hoarding best friend who just wants to be near her people. ??If you’d like to take this pupper home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $300 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They’ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heart

Story
Mac is a 4 year old pure breed Black Lab. We got him from a breeder in Pennsylvania at 8 weeks old. He is very friendly around people. He is reactive around other dogs but not aggressive. He will just sniff them. He will run after cats and squirrels and possibly other animals. Unknown as to what he will do because he has never caught any of them. He is a goof ball, he knows the basic commands like sit, stay, lay, come, down etc. but he seems to not listen to us when he is distracted. We have picked up second jobs because we have college age kids that need tuition paid. With everyone being gone throughout the day, he is crated and that is not fair to him. He went from having someone home to just being in a crate all day long.

Story
Breed(s): Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Mix Age: 3 years Weight: 65 pounds Vetting Status: Neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm negative & maintained on preventatives. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Looking for a dog that is all about YOU? A best friend, a loyal companion? Trevor may just be your guy! This handsome, eager to please fella was found as a stray, completely emaciated. He gained over 25 pounds and looks like a completely different dog! Trevor is crate trained, but much prefers having less restrictions and more freedom. His house manners have been stellar in his foster home -- no accidents or incidents. Trevor loves people, a love bug that wants to be the center of someone's world! Hanging out and being in your presence & playing with his K-9 companions fulfills his days. Stuffed Kongs are certainly on the favorites list too. This sweet boy is a highly intelligent and rapidly picked up on learning an array of commands to include sit, lay, paw, kennel, down and no. Trevor also enjoys going for a car ride & will gladly offer to ride shot gun on all your important trips... petstore, mcd's, bank with a drive thru giving out cookies, etc. Trevor has been exposed to a vast array of other dogs, both big & small. He would love to have K-9 companions, but surely would not argue with being a SHD (single hound dog) & the center of attention. Cats seem super fun to chase (eek!) and would NOT be recommended. If you think Trevor may be the pup for you, please visit the link below to fill out an application. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TREVOR is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link -- https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt. The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!
