Story
Meet Paul Newman! This little heartthrob is as sweet as he is adorable. Paul Newman is ready for the good life; a loving home with a family to call his own. Can you believe someone dumped this little fellow, along with his two brothers way out in the country, thrown out like trash. Luckily, the brothers found their way to the home of a Good Samaritan who reached out to us asking if we rescue the pus...of course we said YES. Paul Newman is ready for his FOREVER HOME. Is that you? If you are interested, please contact us by email at cox_ann@bellsouth.net

Story
So stop me if you have heard this one...... I was walking down the road, minding my own business when BAM! I was hit by a car!!! You haven't heard this one yet??? Well, sit back and relax and let me tell you my story of despair and hard work and now, REDEMPTION!!! Yes, I was literally minding my own business- I was searching for food, water and maybe some love in the mean streets... The car accident actually SAVED my life and now I am in my foster home and it is SO AWESOME!!! BUT, I have a forever home out there looking for a hard working, happy and SWEET fuzzy (a little gray)face and I am going to find you! I am such a good girl, smart and sweet and huggable. I have been through alot of recovery and am getting around great (see I was partially paralyzed for a month or two after the accident) but with the knowledge and love of my foster family I WALK again! I am pretty independent now and ready for the COUCH of my dreams! Look at my video and see how far I have come. I am great with other dogs, all people and for my safety sake would LOVE a KID OF MY OWN!! I actually am AMAZING WITH SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS :) I just seem to have a special connection with the special kids and sure hope to find one to be my bestest friend!! In return for your family and love I will give you my WHOLE life of love and happiness. I mean, look into my gorgeous soulful eyes and ADOPT ME!!! My foster mom can tell you all about who I am and you can decide to adopt me! ***This dog has a special need from her family. Please identify how you will continue her special care when you adopt her- Noel has bilateral hip dysplasia as well as weakness in her back end. She gets around very well, but needs monitoring and a quiet home. She takes joint supplements daily for life and anti inflammatory meds.**** Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area. Temporary $50 fuel fee will be applied)

So take a peek at my fur in the pictures and it will give you a clue as to my doggy personality! I am a happy guy, but I am a little bit nervous too. I am a DOG's DOG... in that I am not meant to be an only dog. Let me explain, I need a calm and happy and social dog who will be in charge of me. I also need an owner/family who is a leader and won't let me try to take over as a leader and make decisions, cause it is just NOT my FORTE! I am a follower, so I just need leaders in my family :) I am a gorgeous guy, loving and so sweet. I can be nervous with front and above head approach but once I know you its all good! So please apply to adopt me if you are a leader, have another calm and happy dominant dog and want to give me my furever family :) Oh YES, you must be ok with FUR :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Local only adoption please

Story
Molly is an absolute sweetheart! She is such a loving and loyal dog. She loves to play, run, fetch, and be outside. When the day is done she wants to cuddle and lay by your feet. She is also one of the most adorable looking dogs ever. She is such a joy! We rescued her when she was 6 months old. She has been a good companion for our other dog and they have gotten along for several years. She has some anxiety issues that we attribute to her being a rescue. This causes her to get a little over excited at times and it presents physically. In a moment of excitement she has nipped at our other dog before. She otherwise has been perfectly fine in every other setting with other dogs in our family as well as in public and at the dog park. Molly has a problem with small children. We attribute this to being a rescue as well and as a response to being anxious and scared. We have small children now and cannot take any chances. She would do great in a home with no small children.

Story
**Meet Rosalie: The Quirky & Oh So Loving Golden Retriever**   Rosalie is a sweet, gentle, and skittish 3-year-old golden retriever with a heart full of love to give. Rescued from the streets of Tijuana, Mexico, she has some residual anxiety, but is incredibly affectionate and just wants to be the center of attention. She adores head and chest rubs, and is always ready for kisses and cuddles. She will follow you from room to room to “see if you need help.”  **Personality and Behavior** Rosalie is well-trained and obedient, having completed a reputable 4-week training program. She walks well on leash and off leash in controlled settings / free fields and knows commands like “sit,” “down,” “wait,” “load up,” “leave it,” “off,” “quiet,” “back,” “spin,” “up,” “kennel,” “heel,” “place,” and “drop.” House and crate trained, she is not destructive and sleeps either in her crate or in bed with her people. Rosalie barks only when the doorbell rings. She is skittish and shy at first, but warms up after a few days and will become your shadow after that! She absolutely loves her people and would love to be someone’s sidekick.  Her activity level is moderate; she loves to play, but is also happy lounging on the couch with you. She enjoys hikes, is a great running buddy, rides well in the car (loves car rides, especially when she gets a pup cup from Starbucks), and absolutely loves the water (she’d go swimming every day if she could). Her favorite games include tug of war and fetch, and she loves chasing a laser pointer around the house.  **Ideal Home** Rosalie's ideal home is one where she can be the single point of love and attention. She has become aggressive toward other animals in her current home and is not dog-friendly indoors & selective outdoors on neutral ground. She might get along with some smaller dogs outside the home through proper and slow introductions. She is not cat-friendly. Due to her anxiety and fear of quick, unpredictable movements, a home without kids is essential as well. Absolutely no dogs, cats, or kids can be in Rosalie’s future home.  Rosalie thrives on love and attention, but is also quite independent. She loves laying next to you while you pet her head or chest and doesn’t need a fenced yard, though having one would be a bonus as dog parks are too much for her. She can be allowed on furniture, but boundaries can be set using her training commands. **Special Notes** Rosalie is on medication for her anxiety, which is inexpensive and should be continued indefinitely as she seems happier on it. She does not like things above her head, her belly touched (prefers head, front chest, & back scratches), loud noises, quick/unpredictable movements, other dogs inside the home, new people that wear hats (until she gets to know them well enough), or going to the vet.  Unique and endearing, she absolutely loves snoot kisses and will jump up on the couch & inch her face closer and closer for them every time you come home. She burps more than any dog you’ll ever meet, but it’s so cute!!  If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who enjoys both playtime and relaxation, Rosalie is the perfect match. She’s the best, most loving girl you could ask for and just needs a forever home where she can feel safe and cherished. She has been through so much and needs someone very patient that is committed to giving her the very best home she deserves, while respecting all of her boundaries and needs. Her breed makeup has been determined by an Embark DNA test. She has about 15 different breeds, including Bully breeds, Rottweiler, Boxer, Chow Chow, Samoyed, Jindo, Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, American Cocker Spaniel, Chihuahua, Dachshund, German Shepherd Dog, and Poodle (Toy & Miniature). It's safe to say she is a supermutt, LOL! We think she looks mostly like a Golden Retriever though!  ***ROSALIE IS IN SOUTH TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).  Our adoption fee is $275 plus health certificate and transport (varies by location). This adoption fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (additional $12.99 registration fee required at time of adoption), fecal analysis, spay/neuter, and a heartworm test. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport. Story
Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. I am a bigger boy and about 65-70#. Look me up, get my number, text or call me OR just APPLY to ADOPT ME!!! I will be waiting by the phone!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
